President’s Message
coMe skate with us in evergreen!
The Calgary Evergreen Community Association [“CECA”] is excited to announce that
we have partnered with the City of Calgary Parks, and will be maintaining an outdoor
skating rink this season.
Dear Calgary Evergreen Community,
We, the Calgary Evergreen Community Association and the City of Calgary Parks South Division are pleased to announce that we
have partnered together to run a temporary ice skating rink this winter at the corner of Everridge Drive and Everoak Drive (see
map on page 7).
The initial set-up and flooding of the rink will be undertaken by the City of Calgary Parks but the success of program is dependent
on volunteers to help maintain the skating rink. The Community Association is organizing volunteers for the rink. If you would like
to volunteer, please contact our “rink boss” Jodine Williams (jodine@myceca.ca).
Outdoor skating rinks in Calgary are weather dependent and are typically open December through February. Regular flooding and
snow removal are required to maintain rink condition. Please stay off the ice while it is being cleaned or cleared of snow.
The outdoor rink is for pleasure skating only. The rink will not be lighted or
supervised. Helmets are recommended. Due to proximity of houses and
cars, hockey is strongly discouraged. Slapshots, windows, and windshields
do not mix.
For additional information on our newly adopted rink, please visit our
website www.myceca.ca or contact Jodine.
Your Board of Directors is excited to bring an ice rink to Evergreen. Please
enjoy the fresh air this winter by lacing up your skates and enjoying our first
outdoor skating rink! We hope to see you out there!
Sincerely,
Trevor Wekel, President
