McQuaid Jesuit Welcomes Interim 

President Fr. Edward Salmon, S.J. 

You worked at McQuaid Jesuit from 2001-2007, why did you 

leave and where did you go after leaving? 

Jesuits, as you know, have a vow of obedience. When, therefore, 

the Provincial of the New York Province asked me to serve as the 

Superior of the Jesuit Community at America House in New York 

City, I said “Yes.” That was the reason I left McQuaid. 

For some background can you tell us when you 

were ordained and where you have done your training? 

I was ordained a priest on June 8, 1985 in the Fordham 

University Church. My early training took place in Poughkeepsie, 

in Plattsburgh, and in Syracuse, N.Y. I obtained an M.A. in 

Philosophy from Berchmans College in the Philippines, taught 

High School in Naga City and in Manila in the Philippines. My last 

formal training took place in Cambridge, MA where I earned a 

Master of Divinity degree from the Weston School of Theology. 

When did you realize your calling to be a Jesuit and work in 

education? 

From the time I was a kid growing up I felt called to be a priest. 

During those years Jesuits became my heroes – St. Francis 

Xavier, St. Isaac Jogues. At St. Peter’s Prep I grew to know and 

admire the Jesuits who were teaching there. (Some of them 

were among the first Jesuits at McQuaid: Fr. Jim Malone, 

Fr. Maurice Miller, Mr. John Browning.) It was to the Jesuits 

– priests, teachers, missionaries – that I applied and was 

accepted. 

To work in education, to be a teacher is a tremendous gift. 

For me there is nothing more wonderful than helping and 

encouraging a young person to discover truth, the truth about 

themselves, the truth about the marvelous world in which we 

live, the truth about the people around us, the truth about God 

who has made it all possible. It is absolutely thrilling for me to 

catch a glimpse of the wonder and the awe in the eyes of a 

student who makes a “discovery.” 

How do you feel about coming back to McQuaid Jesuit as 

Interim President for a year? 

McQuaid has a very special place in my heart. When 

Mr. Rodgers, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, called and 

asked if I would be willing to serve as the Interim President, I was 

both honored and also enthusiastic about being able to serve 

and help McQuaid in this way. 

What are some of your memories from your first stint at 

McQuaid? 

I shall always remember the first day I came to McQuaid. As I 

was walking through the hallway, knowing no one and totally 

unfamiliar with the school, one of the faculty members came up 

to me and with hand outstretched said, “Welcome to McQuaid!” 

That memory always speaks to me of the warmth and the 

openness and the kindness of the McQuaid family. It is good to 

be “home.” 

What does McQuaid Jesuit mean to you? 

McQuaid Jesuit is to me a community of parents, of faculty 

and staff, of students in which everyone is welcomed and 

appreciated and challenged – challenged to learn, challenged to 

love, challenged to grow, challenged and encouraged to become 

the very best they can be. 

What three things would you like to accomplish 

this year as Interim President? 

I would like to and hope to strengthen and deepen 

communication and understanding among all the members of 

the McQuaid Community: administration, faculty, staff, parents, 

students, alumni. 

I would like to and hope to “spread the Good News” about 

McQuaid and its mission, its hopes and dreams for its 

students, its accomplishments. I would like to let it be known 

that McQuaid gives to Rochester and to our country, indeed to 

our world, young men who are intellectually competent, open to 

growth, religious, loving and committed to doing justice. 

I would also like to encourage and prod the Search Committee to 

accomplish its task and find the permanent president.* 

Do you have any extracurricular activities or hobbies? 

Though I have gotten out of practice, I love cooking especially 

when there are folks who like to eat. While waiting for the sauce 

to thicken or the pasta water to boil, I do the New York Times 

crossword puzzle in ink!! 

Tell us one thing about you that most people do not know. 

I still miss my Jaguar.

50th REUNION 

In the summer of 2009, a 

group of alumni from the 

class of 1960 approached 

the Advancement Staff at 

McQuaid Jesuit and 

indicated that they wanted 

to be in charge of their 50th 

reunion in June of 2010. The 

group, consisting of Bob Fox, 

Marty Molinari, Ed Norton, 

Dave Reid and Tom Trevett, 

said the class of 1960 was the 

biggest graduating class in 

the history of the school and 

they wanted to make sure their 

50th reunion was just as big. 

In keeping with the big theme, 

the group also agreed to an 

ambitious class gift goal of 

$100,000. 

Last fall, the group met at 

McQuaid for a night of calling 

classmates to let them know 

about the 2010 reunion and to 

update contact information. 

If attendance was going to be 

high, then everyone had to 

know about it early. After the 

phone calling and gathering 

of emails, the communication 

was directed towards the 

web, with monthly updates on 

everything about the reunion, 

including the class gift goal. 

With the help of the McQuaid 

Jesuit staff, a class of ’60 

reunion page was set up in the 

alumni section of the McQuaid 

website. Classmates could log

onto the page and find out the 

latest details about the reunion 

and who was planning on 

attending the festivities. There 

was a graph indicating where 

the class stood in their pursuit 

of the $100,000 gift goal. 

There was also a class 

participation graph indicating 

the percentage of the class 

that had given. The class 

agents asked their classmates 

to submit biographies of their 

lives since leaving McQuaid 

along with an updated picture. 

Links to classmate biographies 

were also available on the 

page. 

Soon after the class began 

their pursuit of the $100,000 

goal, one classmate made a 

big contribution to the cause. 

With a gift of $50,000, Neil 

Pappalardo put his class fifty 

percent towards the goal. 

With that gift and plenty of 

time before June, it appeared 

the class would have no 

problem reaching the goal. 

Over the next several months, 

the money continued to come 

in, but the agents began to 

realize that reaching the lofty 

$100,000 goal was not going 

to be as easy as they thought. 

The class needed a jumpstart, 

something to get them excited 

about giving back to their alma 

mater. The answer came 

this past May when fellow 

classmate John DiMarco 

contacted the McQuaid Jesuit 

Advancement Office. 

John had been receiving all 

the notices and following the 

class gift goal on the website. 

He realized the class needed 

some help and he had just 

the idea to motivate them. If 

the class could close the gap 

and reach the $100,000 goal 

without his help, he vowed 

to match the class gift and 

contribute another $100,000. 

The class agents immediately 

sent out word of the challenge 

in the hopes that more of their 

class would contribute to get 

John’s match. 

The challenge worked. In the 

span of six weeks, the class 

was able to close the gap and 

raise nearly $20,000 to hit the 

goal. Not only did they do 

it, but they did it in time to 

celebrate the feat at their 50th 

reunion dinner on June 12th at 

Penfield Country Club. During 

the dinner, with nearly 60 of 

their classmates in attendance, 

the class agents presented 

McQuaid Jesuit Chancellor 

Fr. James J. Fischer, S.J. with 

a check for $103,300. John, 

sticking true to his word, then 

presented Fr. Fischer with a 

check for $100,000. All told, 

the class of 1960 gave a class 

gift of over $210,000, with 50 

percent of their classmates 

contributing. 

The class agents came away 

from the reunion completely 

satisfied with what they had 

accomplished. They were able 

to rally their classmates, have 

a great time and give back to 

the school. It was their goal to 

leave a lasting impression on 

how reunions should be held 

and they certainly did just that.

what’s new 

this year 

at McQuaid Jesuit 

McQuaid Jesuit strives to challenge young men and make 

them better prepared for not only college but the real world. 

Every year, the faculty and staff take a look at the curriculum 

and see if there is something more they can offer students. 

Last year, the foreign language and science departments began 

new courses with the addition of Russian and Forensics, both 

of which were very popular among the student body. This year 

the faculty and staff hope the following new classes and 

extracurricular activities will find the same kind of success. 

For the first time, McQuaid Jesuit has combined two Advanced 

Placement courses. AP World History and AP English 

Composition are now taken together. The classes meet every 

other day and are taught by two faculty members. The World 

History portion of the course follows a chronological format from 

early man to modern times, emphasizing the similarities and 

changes between regions and societies throughout history. The 

English Composition portion, which is in its first year of 

being offered at McQuaid, is an intensive college-level course 

in the study of literature and in the writing of critical expository 

essays. Depending on what the World History course is 

studying, the English Composition course will focus on writings 

about that time period. The benefit of having the courses 

combined is a student may receive two A.P credits and only 

take up one class period because both of these courses are 

formatted to meet every other day. The two A.P. credits will be 

given for those who complete and pass both the World History 

and English Composition A.P. exams at the end of the year. 

The newest elective course available is in the computer science 

department. With television available in 3D, computers being 

completely touch screen and any information available via 

your phone in an instant, technology is at the forefront of our 

everyday lives. Another one of the biggest growing markets 

is video games. As video games continue to become more 

detailed and realistic, McQuaid Jesuit computer teacher Scott 

Simpkins is offering a course in computer game design. 

Students design, write code and test a number of different types 

of games including text adventure, dice, card, strategy, two 

player, 2D and 3D. They will use a number of different platforms 

from Visual Basic and Java to Flash and XNA Game Studio 

Express. Students will also have the opportunity to design and 

create their own games. Games will be created for the Windows 

environment. Additionally, the games created with XNA can be 

loaded and played on the Xbox 360 Gaming System. 

The sports department has also begun a new program this year. 

Over the past decade, McQuaid Jesuit has seen varsity club 

sports such as rugby, sailing and crew become very popular 

among the students. This year Martial Arts is being offered as a 

varsity club sport for the first time. Coached by McQuaid Jesuit 

Fine Arts and Foreign language teacher Laurie Farber, McQuaid 

Jesuit is the first local school to offer Martial Arts as a varsity 

sport. Laurie is a second-degree black belt in Kyokushin Karate 

which is an all-encompassing style of Karate including no 

contact, semi-contact, and full contact fighting. The emphasis of 

the sport will be on fighting, conditioning and self-defense and 

will be open to beginners as well as students from other styles 

of karate. The team will be working in conjunction with 

Kyokushin Karate Fitness USA in Rochester. Students on the 

team who already have some experience will compete in the 

American International Karate Championships in October in 

Rochester. There are also plans to compete in competitions in 

Canada, Binghamton and Hilton right now, with more being 

possible depending on the popularity of the sport. 

With the popularity and success of the FIRST Robotics program 

in its first year of competition at McQuaid Jesuit, faculty and staff 

have decided to join the middle school FIRST program. FIRST, 

founded in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and 

participation in science and technology, offers a Lego League for 

grades 4-8. Students in the middle school will be able to sign up 

for and compete against other local teams this year. The mission 

of the entire FIRST program, middle and high school is “to 

inspire young people to be science and technology leaders 

by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that 

build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire 

innovation and that foster well-rounded life capabilities.” If a 

middle school student wishes to continue with the program, they 

may do so by joining the Robotics team once they reach high 

school. 

New courses and extracurricular activities are not the only 

changes this school year. With each new school year comes 

change in the faculty and staff. Longtime Social Studies teachers 

Robert Kidera and Annette Galvano, along with Italian teacher 

Ashley Williams retired at the end of this past school year. 

Combined, these three teachers have served McQuaid Jesuit for 

nearly 70 years. McQuaid is excited to announce that they have 

hired three new teachers to take their positions. 

Taking over in the Social Studies department are Christopher 

Mulroy and Kathleen Ruppert. Christopher graduated from 

LeMoyne College and received an M.S. in Education from 

St. John Fisher College. Kathleen has a PhD in British History 

from the Catholic University of America. 

The foreign language department is pleased to welcome Alba 

VanDelinder. She will be teaching Italian which she holds a 

Masters in from Middlebury College, Florence Campus in Italy. 

McQuaid is also pleased to welcome Sr. Mary Ann Mayer, SSJ. 

Sr. Mary Ann holds a Bachelors in Latin from Nazareth College 

as well as a Masters in History from St. Bonaventure University.

Major Stadium and 

Field Renovations 

Completed in time for Fall 2010 Season 

he dream of renovating 

McQuaid Jesuit’s outdoor 

athletic complex has become 

a beautiful reality. Within four 

months of receiving Town 

of Brighton approval in 

mid-April, the Stadium Project 

operations team, led by 

DiFiore Construction, 

has delivered a wonderful 

complex of playing fields 

for the Knights. The project, 

which started in November, 

is now complete and in use 

by the fall sports teams (see 

timeline). The school is 

grateful for the fine work of 

DiFiore and their subcontrac- 

tors (including alumni-led 

firms), the dedication of 

members of the McQuaid 

Jesuit staff, and the generos- 

ity of donors who provided 

the funds to make it happen. 

6 | Stadium Renovat ion 

Here are the core elements 

and features of the Stadium 

Complex that you will find of 

interest: 

• Seymour Field has been 

completely transformed 

from a game-day only, grass 

playing field to a world-class 

turf field ready for use at 

almost any time by any 

outdoor sports program. 

• A-Turf’s most advanced 

product, Titan, is used on 

the field; it includes a 

shock pad system 

underneath the synthetic 

Titan turf that ensures a fine 

grass field like softness while 

maintaining all the benefits 

of a fast draining, high use 

turf field. 

• The field is warranted by 

A-Turf for safe play for a 

period of 12 years – this 

warranty was a crucial 

factor, especially given our 

private fundraising model. 

• The field is permanently 

striped for football, soccer, 

lacrosse, and rugby play; 

Our Knights’ logo is at mid 

field. 

• A complex, fish bone 

shaped drainage system sits 

underneath a layer of 

crushed stone, and the 

A-Turf product. 

• Electrical outlets, water 

pipes and lacrosse ball 

stopper systems have been 

engineered into the field. 

• The track and field areas 

received either major 

refurbishment or brand 

new elements. 

• Bradley Track, which is nine 

years old, has been 

completely resurfaced and 

restriped and given an 

expected new life of eight 

years. 

• The long jump, triple 

jump pits and runway have 

been built anew to coaches’ 

specifications and are now 

just outside the track oval on 

the Elmwood Avenue side. 

• A new high jump and pole 

vault system have been built 

in the east end “D” zone. 

• A new discus pad and throw 

area have been created in a 

corner of Farash Field. 

• Farash Field has been rebuilt 

with the earth from Seymour 

Field and made into one of 

the finest grass practice 

or game fields in the 

surrounding area. 

• The field has received a 

layer of sod in addition to a 

couple of feet of finely milled 

dirt. 

• An irrigation system has 

been placed under the sod 

for easy watering. 

• New goal posts have been 

placed on the field. 

• A larger retention pond now 

sits between Farash Field 

and Seymour Field capable 

of handling incredible 

amounts of runoff water not 

only from Seymour Field, 

but also the entire school 

complex.

Seniors make service trip to Ecuador 

or ten days last spring, ten 

McQuaid Jesuit seniors and 

two administrators served The 

Working Boys’ Center in Quito, 

Ecuador, living out the mission 

of being “men for others.” 

The center was founded by 

Fr. John Halligan, S.J. in 

1964 with the objective of 

creating, developing and 

strengthening moral values by 

means of changes in attitudes 

and behavior, helped by 

programs of formation and 

social assistance for all ages. 

Fr. Halligan originally started 

the center to help the young 

shoeshine boys who worked 

in the city by providing them 

with meals and a place to 

sleep in the attic of the Jesuit 

Church in Quito. Soon he 

realized that not only did the 

young boys need help but 

their families as well. With the 

help of Sister Miguel Conway, 

Fr. Halligan expanded the 

center to include families. 

As the numbers grew, the 

space in the attic of the Jesuit 

Church became too small and 

a new center had to be built. 

Over time, two more centers 

were built for a total of three. 

Today more than 400 families 

are assisted in the centers. 

The group enjoys lunch after 

working all morning on the 

foundation of a home

The center does not receive 

any funding from the church 

or government, relying on 

donations and volunteers to 

keep it running. Throughout 

the year, the center will 

welcome groups of high 

school and college students, 

such as the McQuaid group, 

who volunteer for a week or 

two around the center. Before 

going to Ecuador, the group 

held a fundraiser by selling 

dress down passes for exam 

week at McQuaid. Over $4,000 

was raised and given to the 

center as a gift to help further 

their cause. 

For the McQuaid seniors, 

this trip fulfilled the required 

capstone project they had to 

complete before graduation. 

Students chose an approved 

not-for-profit agency where 

they volunteered a minimum 

of 25 hours of service 

during the final two weeks 

of the academic year. The 

capstone project is intended 

to be the culmination of a 

student’s service learning 

during his high school career. 

Once completed, each senior 

must create a multimedia 

presentation about his 

experience. The ten seniors 

who went on the trip applied 

and were selected by the 

faculty and staff involved with 

the capstone project. During 

the trip they were required to 

write in an online blog. Once 

they returned to school, each 

senior made a presentation 

about his experience. 

The group spent a majority of 

their time working alongside 

the yearlong volunteers in 

the classrooms, helping the 

children with their English and 

Math skills. When not in class, 

the children were running in 

the main courtyard, playing 

different games and having 

a good time. The group of 

McQuaid students couldn’t 

help but get caught up in the 

fun the kids were having. 

Aside from educational 

classes, the group also spent 

time in the different trade 

schools offered for teens 

and adults. They shadowed 

classes on carpentry, baking 

and mechanical engineering. 

In addition to working with 

the volunteers in the classroom, 

the group spent time 

freshening up the center by 

painting the hallways and 

bathrooms. On the Sunday of 

their trip, the group went to 

the outskirts of the city to help 

a family lay the foundation 

of their home. This involved 

moving rocks, digging holes 

and mixing cement to pour 

into the newly formed holes. 

On one particular morning, 

the group rode public transportation 

nearly two hours to 

the outskirts of Quito to see 

where many of the families 

at the center live. It was an 

eye-opening experience for 

the young men to see just 

how little these people had. 

It made them realize how 

fortunate they are to be 

living in the United States, 

attending a good school and 

not having to worry about 

where their next meal was 

coming from. The young men 

began to realize just what the 

Jesuit mission of being “men 

for others” meant and why 

it was so important in their 

education. This trip occurred 

in the middle of the experience 

and certainly changed 

the young men’s outlook not 

only for the rest of their trip, 

but their lives beyond Ecuador. 

The ten days passed and the 

seniors returned home with 

souvenirs, memories and a 

lot of stories. They are now 

alumni of McQuaid Jesuit, but 

the mission and spirit of being 

“men for others,” which they 

learned for four or six years 

on South Clinton Avenue and 

experienced firsthand in 

Ecuador, will remain with them 

for the rest of their lives.

Remarks from the 

Vice President on Giving 

Dear Alumni, Parents and Friends of McQuaid Jesuit, 

I am pleased to introduce the 2009-10 Giving Report section of 

the Cauldron. As you might have noticed, the Giving Report is 

integrated with the Cauldron this year. I felt it important that the 

entire McQuaid Jesuit community gain insight into our Giving 

Programs and appreciation for the individuals and organizations 

that enabled the school to grow last year. I am proud to report 

that McQuaid Jesuit, in the face of a severe recession, grew 

stronger due to the amazing generosity of thousands of alumni, 

parents, and friends. In total, over $2.8 million of giving (cash 

basis) was delivered by our donors, the highest amount since 

2005-06. Fifty nine (59%) percent of the giving came through annual 

funding programs and 41 percent through capital, achieving 

a nice balance for the school. 

Annual Funding Programs 

Annual funding programs are critical to the school’s success as 

they fund current school operations, predominantly directed at 

students and teachers. Typically, 20 percent of the school’s operating 

bills are paid through giving and 70 percent are paid with 

tuition. Here are highlights to note: 

• The McQuaid Jesuit Fund and Tuition Gifts achieved financial 

results of $1.1 million. 

• That equals 2008-09’s results and is consistent with results 

over the last four years. 

• The Class of ’60 set an all-time school record with an 

anniversary annual fund gift of over $200,000; they were a 

critical element in our success. 

• Alumni and Parent participation rates were at 17 and 23 

percent respectively and slightly lower than desired. 

• BASH and other Special Events results were exceedingly 

strong. 

• BASH drew a record crowd of 500 people and grossed 

$340,000 also a record. 

• The Magazine Drive and Corvette Raffle exceeded 

expectations and grossed $163,875 combined. 

• In total, annual funds produced $1,631,274 for the 

school and our Advancement costs were kept well 

under budget. 

Capital Projects and Long-term Investments 

In the capital projects and long-term investments arena, we 

established a portfolio of capital projects for consideration, 

utilizing a new “gate” review process. We were able to drive 

one project to completion, the Stadium Complex. The highlights 

related to investments and capital are: 

• The Stadium Project received over $1,150,000 in capital 

pledges in five months. 

• Over $780,000 was received in cash during the fiscal year with 

the balance expected within only 12 months.

• The “Prepare to Soar” campaign has entered its fifth and final 

year; payments were $272,000 and a relatively small balance 

is left. 

• The estate of Mrs. Ruth Perotto provided a wonderful 

endowment gift of $250,000, in memory of her deceased 

son, Gregory Philip Rice ’65. 

Advancement Plans for the 2010-11 Fiscal Year 

We are in our new fiscal year already and beginning to 

implement our 2010-11 annual programs. 

• Our annual fund programs will once again be critical to 

meeting the operating needs of the school and you should 

expect to hear from us again! 

• We are extremely pleased to have our BASH 2011 and 2012 

chairs in place. 

• We will enhance our major giving, planned giving, and 

anniversary class giving programs as we continue the 

transformation to a college model of Advancement. 

• The Class of ’61 has already begun to plan their 50th Reunion! 

• New Capital Giving projects, notably in the food services and 

sciences areas, will be advanced through a “gate” review 

process and early donor discussions will be pursued. 

• We will complete Phase 2 of the Stadium project, estimated at 

$300,000. 

In Closing 

Please find over the next set of pages the names of each and 

every donor that supported McQuaid Jesuit in annual, capital 

or endowed giving during fiscal year 2009-10. Although it may 

seem like a simple thing, having your name in the school’s 

Giving Report, at any level, makes a difference in the life of the

Jane and Neil Pappalardo ‘60 

A. Neil Pappalardo is a 1960 

graduate of McQuaid Jesuit. 

Neil and his classmates just 

celebrated their 50th reunion, 

only the 3rd McQ class to 

have reached this milestone. 

He received his Bachelor of 

Science degree in Electrical 

Engineering from MIT in 1964. 

There after Neil went to work 

at the Massachusetts General 

Hospital where he pursued his 

interest in clinical computing. 

In 1969 he founded Medical 

Information Technology, Inc. 

(Meditech), one of the earliest 

software companies. As 

Chairman and CEO, he has 

seen Meditech become a 

leading supplier of information 

system software for hospitals 

in the U. S., Canada, and the 

U. K. Today, Meditech employs 

over 3,200 people, all in 

Massachusetts. 

Much like the success of 

Meditech, Neil and his wife, 

Jane, have made their 46 

years of marriage all about 

“giving back.” Neil has been 

supportive of McQuaid Jesuit

Scholarship Funds 

Throughout McQuaid Jesuit’s history, 

many donors have established “named” 

endowed scholarship funds. Only the 

income of an endowed scholarship fund 

is used to provide financial aid to our 

students. 

A donor may request that McQuaid 

Jesuit place their gift into a general, 

permanently restricted, endowment fund 

where principal contributions remain 

intact. This fund is named after 

St. Francis Xavier, in honor of the 

school’s patron, and has been built from 

the gifts of generous donors throughout 

the history of McQuaid Jesuit. Other 

gifts are placed into previously named 

scholarship funds when requested. 

A fully endowed scholarship is 

approximately $202,000 for the 2010-11 

academic year. Partially endowed 

scholarships range from $25,000- 

$201,999. Donors may establish a 

“named fund” with an initial funding 

requirement of $50,000. Only the income 

generated by the fund will be used to 

support McQuaid Jesuit’s mission, 

leaving the principal intact. Listed below

The Father Noonan Knights’ Heritage Society 

The Father Noonan Knights’ Heritage Society is comprised of alumni, parents, and friends of 

McQuaid Jesuit who intend to leave a heritage in their own name or in the name of a loved one 

as a way of helping the school form future leaders in service. Gifts may be made through one’s 

will, life insurance policy, trust fund or annuity.

Both my grandmother and my father knew the value of a McQuaid education and the prestige 

that comes with calling oneself a McQuaid graduate. I am so pleased and deeply grateful that 

my grandmother, Ruth Perotto, has made it possible for other young men to carry on the 

tradition to become proud McQuaid graduates just as my father, Gregory Rice ‘65, did. 

Beneficiary Designations 

Your retirement savings plan or life insurance may be your largest asset. Many do not realize 

that their remaining qualified retirement plan assets could be heavily taxed after death. Estate 

and income taxes can consume a portion of the remaining money in tax-deferred accounts 

such as Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and other qualified plans. 

Proceeds from a life insurance policy are also subject to estate taxes, if owned by the 

individual at the time of their death. 

To move assets out of a potentially high-tax situation into one which has the potential to result 

in a significant tax savings, individuals can name McQuaid Jesuit as the beneficiary of: 

• An individual retirement account (IRA) 

• A 401(k) or other qualified retirement plan 

• A life insurance policy 

You can designate McQuaid Jesuit as the sole beneficiary, or one of multiple 

beneficiaries, of the remaining assets.
