The Final Countdown
As you all know by now, as a community, we need to have $6.1
million in pledges and donations in order to break ground on our
new state-of-the-art Athletic and Community Centre. Two years
ago that goal seemed like a pipe dream. Now less than 2 years
later you can almost hear that jack hammers and heavy duty
equipment warming up.
Three months ago we started our 1 Million is 100 Days Campaign
and we have seen some impressive results. In the last week alone
over $250,000.00 has come in from staff, parents, alumni and
friends. The deadline of January 31 st is drawing near.
In total, we have raised $5.8 million and the alumni have
contributed over $650,000 to that total. That is extremely
impressive especially considering that only a relatively small
percentage of our alumni have contributed so far.
I am a glass half full kind of guy and honestly believe that there is
more support for this project among the alumni than these
numbers suggest. It is time to act. Wouldn’t it be great to play all
your games in this Alumni Tourney in one awesome facility?
Please consider making a pledge to this cause during the weekend
or in the near future. While five year pledges have the greatest
impact on our total, all gifts will be gratefully accepted. There are
campaign committee members around this weekend including
myself that can answer any questions or go over options. If you
are ready to submit your pledge, you can do so in the STMC cafeteria. For those of you who have
already given, I offer a huge thank you!

experience at the 2012 Alumni Tournament.
