IVECO MOTORS<br />

In the future, Fiat Power Train Technologies (FPT), with a production<br />

output of 2,200,000 engines per year, one of the most innovative,<br />

significant and outstanding companies in the world of<br />

engines located in Pregnana Milanese/Italy.<br />

GUASCOR<br />

One of the noblest small engine shops and gearbox producers for<br />

commercial shipping with its headquarters in Zumaia/Spain.<br />

MASE<br />

The on-board power generator manufacturer with the widest<br />

product range and most versatile power generator <strong>program</strong> with<br />

its domicile in Cesena/Italy.<br />

The power output of the entire <strong>program</strong> of drive units and aggregates<br />

for pleasure and commercial shipping represents a bandwidth<br />

from 15 to 1,621 kW. These are all power units which have<br />

been considerably optimized in terms of efficiency and torque<br />

owing to the use of ultra-modern diesel technology, at the same<br />

time having a reduced fuel consumption, thus giving less emission<br />

of exhaust gases.<br />

All engines have been certified in accordance with the IMO Marpol and<br />

the ZKR Guidelines, Chapter 8a (ZKR = Central Committee for<br />

Rhine Shipping).

NEW DIMENSIONS: DIESEL TECHN<br />

IVECO MOTORS<br />

While the well-tried, conventional 8000 engine series<br />

is fading into the background step by step, the current<br />

NEF, CURSOR and VECTOR series are now in the<br />

focus of pleasure shipping.<br />

This new generation of engines integrates a variety of<br />

progressive diesel technologies, thus ensuring environment-friendly<br />

and high-performance power units.<br />

Modern four-valve technology, pump-nozzle and<br />

common-rail injection systems of the second generation<br />

as well as electronic engine management are<br />

employed in this connection.<br />

IVECO N40 ENT D 20<br />

The technological developments made in terms of<br />

power and torque allow for considerable power unit<br />

optimization, which reduces both fuel and oil consumption<br />

as well as noise and exhaust gas emission.<br />

Compared with conventional engines, such power<br />

units offer by far higher performance potentials, with<br />

their weight and volume having been reduced at the<br />

same time. Moreover, they meet current and future<br />

exhaust gas emission requirements. The Vector 16<br />

with its 1621 kW represents the final stage.<br />

COMMON RAIL<br />

The high-pressure injection technology<br />

used in the VECTOR series works within<br />

the range of 1,600 bar and contributes to<br />

reducing fuel consumption and exhaust<br />

gas emission.<br />

MULTI TURBO<br />

Owing to its dual-flow charging principle,<br />

the dual turbocharger of the CURSOR 13<br />

provides an elastic torque behaviour.

IVECO MOTORS – GUASCOR<br />

Two engine concepts of different nature.<br />

While IVECO MOTORS has dedicated to innovative diesel<br />

technology and is pushing ahead the use of intelligent<br />

engine management solutions, high-pressure<br />

injection systems and ultra-modern production processes,<br />

GUASCOR is going the conventional way.<br />

GUASCOR refines and optimizes the traditional drive<br />

engine, using approved multi-cylinder injection tech-<br />

GUASCOR SF240TA-SP<br />

nology and, as IVECO MOTORS does, also meets the<br />

requirements of the IMO Marpol and ZKR exhaust gas<br />

emission standards. Also, both drives are available in<br />

classified GL, RINA, DNV or other designs which are in<br />

conformity with the regulations applicable to commercial<br />

shipping.<br />

The use of the different engine concepts by IVECO<br />

and GUASCOR depends on the user's individual requirements<br />

and on their respective applications.<br />

PUMPE-DÜSE-EINHEIT<br />

The CURSOR series high-pressure injection<br />

is based on the pump-nozzle principle and<br />

achieves optimized fuel consumption<br />

and exhaust gas emission figures.<br />

WARTUNGSZUGANG<br />

The GUASCOR engine has maintenance<br />

openings on either side, thus facilitating<br />

better access.

ON-BOARD POWER SUPPLY<br />

VARIOUS STRATEGIES: PERFECTLY<br />

IVECO MOTORS – GUASCOR – MASE<br />

Three different on-board power supply concepts, each<br />

of them with its own intention.<br />

With its on-board power generators, MASE mainly<br />

covers pleasure shipping within the power range of<br />

up to 66 kVA. Sound-insulated and extremely lownoise<br />

systems with conventional engines and innovative<br />

generator conceptions.<br />

IVECO is going to extend the on-board power supply<br />

sector up to a power range of 1,550 kVA for big<br />

yachts and for commercial shipping. Power generators<br />

as non-enclosed systems on the basis of the<br />

MASE IS 6.5<br />

technological up-to-date NEF, CURSOR and VECTOR<br />

engines.<br />

GUASCOR feels to keep obliged to its tradition to<br />

deliver heavy-duty on-board power generators up to<br />

1,275 kVA for continuous operation in commercial<br />

shipping. Generator sets without sound insulation<br />

and in conventional fashion in a maintenance-friendly<br />

overall conception.<br />

Upon request, the entire on-board power generator<br />

<strong>program</strong> is available in any common classifications<br />

and in accordance with the regulations applicable to<br />

commercial shipping.<br />

CRANKCASE VENTILATION<br />

On the NEF 280, the crankcase ventilation<br />

has been designed as a self-contained<br />

separating system.<br />

ENGINE MANAGEMENT<br />

This electronic engine management keeps<br />

control over the entire power unit economy<br />

and is responsible for the engine parameters.

In cooperation with selected partners, the service<br />

quality of the parent company in Dieburg is a circumstantial<br />

evidence of yacht owners, <strong>marine</strong> shipping<br />

offices, owners of passenger or river boats as well as<br />

the fishing industry being convinced of drive units<br />

from <strong>Sauer</strong> motive systems.<br />

ENGINE OVERHAUL<br />

Grinding and polishing a crankshaft is<br />

the most delicate skill in engine overhauling.<br />

ENGINE MODIFICATIONS<br />

All modified drive units are subjected<br />

to extensive engine test bench runs.<br />

ENGINE SERVICE<br />

The maintenance of stationary<br />

systems is covered in the same way as<br />
