Restoran Sfäär
Endised kasiino ruumid puhastati kõigest üleliigsest,
tühjaks "karbiks", osa seinu võeti maha ja osa
tõsteti teise kohta. Paekiviseinad ja laed koos ventilatsioonitorudega
värviti valgeks, põrandad kaeti
lakitud parketiga. Neid täiendavat spooni, mis
haakuks 1960ndate stiiliga ega mõjuks liiga kaasaegsena,
otsis sisearhitekt kaua. Ajastutruu mahagoniga
kaeti tualettuumide seinad, baarilett ja köögiuksed.
Kasiino-aegu meenutavad vaid kollane klaassein ning
messingist kolmnurksed WC-tähised.
Vintage-mööbel otsiti kokku tuttavate Soome ja
Rootsi mööblikauplejate ladudest. Mööbliklassikuid
(Ilmari Tapiovaara, Arne Jacobsen, Alvar Aalto)
kombineeriti tundmatute Skandinaavia disainerite
mööbliga 1950.–1960. aastatest.
Valgusteid pole Sfääri avaras, kõrgete lagedega ja
industriaalse hõnguga interjööris ülemäära palju.
Söögisaali kõige suurema laua kohal ripub Louis Poulseni
Snowball, baariletti valgustavad kolm Alvar
Aalto kuldset A 330 valgustit, millega harmoneeruvad
messingist detailid.
The former casino interiors were cleared of everything
excessive, until an empty box was left. Some of the walls
were taken down and a part of them were relocated.
The limestone walls and ceilings along with the ventilation
pipes were painted white, and the floors were
covered with lacquered parquet. The interior architect
looked long for veneer that would complement them –
something that would go well with the 1960s style and
not seem too modern. The walls of the rest room, bar
counter and kitchen doors were covered with periodauthentic
mahogany. Only the yellow glass wall and
triangular brass WC markings recall the premises’ days
as a casino.
The vintage furniture was found in the warehouses of
Finnish and Sweden furniture dealers. Classic names in
furniture design (Ilmari Tapiovaara, Arne Jacobsen, Alvar
Aalto) were combined with furniture by Scandinavian
designers from the 1950s and 1960s.
The spacious, high-ceilinged and industrial-tinged interior
of Sfäär is not too heavy on lights. Above the largest
table in the dining area is a Louis Poulsen Snowball,
while the bar is illuminated by three gold Alvar Aalto
A 330 lights that harmonize with the brass details.
