WEDNESDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER - MEETING 1
This meeting we will take an interesting
little stroll (weather permitting) up
to the Port Hills. Climbing the sugarloaf
transmitter is optional.
SAT 11/SUN 12 SEPTEMBER:
Day trips
Mt Winterslow
Grade: Moderate (1 day)
Primo views down to Mt Cook, tussock
high country, probably some snow.
Arthur’s Pass Short Walks
Grade: Easy (1 day)
Mountain views without mountain
climbing. There are plenty of short
walks around the Park to keep you
busy.
Mt Philistine
Grade: Hard (1 day)
A peak on the western side of Arthur’s
Pass. Satisfying but requires confidence
and a head for heights. Snow
Skills required and very condition dependent.
Overnighters
Lake Mason
Grade: Easy (2 days)
A meandering path over farm land for
that authentic Hurunui experience. Opportunity
to make a loop.

SAT 18/SUN 19 SEPTEMBER
Day trips
Mt Torlese
Grade: Moderate-Hard (1 day)
A classic climb. On a clear day you can
see the people studying in the central
library. Snow Skills required.
Camp Saddle, Lyndon Saddle
Grade: Easy (1 Day)
An easy day walk along the tracks
around Helicopter Hill. Bring your own
helicopter.
Overnighters
Goat Pass
Grade: Moderate (2 day)
Want to enjoy the scenery and spend a
night out of town? Then a night in Goat
pass hut is just the thing. What??? The

At the half-AGM we will hold brief elections
for the committee positions responsible
for the day-to-day running of
the club. If you or someone you know
has a good level of enthusiasm for
tramping and want to make a difference
for the over 400 members of the
club, come along and be nominated for
