The City Treasurer, the official authorized to
collect taxes, is hereby empowered to appoint such deputies as he deems ex-
pedient, which deputies shall severally give bonds in the sum of three
thousand dollars for the faithful performance of their duties*

Alderman corbett offered the following order,
Ordered;
That the City Treasurer be,_and he is hereby
authorized, with the approval of the Mayor and City Auditor, to incur debt
from time"to time during the current municipal year, on temporary loans in
anticipation of the revenue of said financial year, and.to issue therefor the
notes of the City, payable within one year from their respective dates. The
.amount of such notes shall not exceed three million, two hundred thousand
(_&3_»200fQOO»00) dollars. Any such notes or portion thereof may be refunded
by the issue of new notes due within one year from the date of the original
obligation. Said notes shall not be obligatory unless certified thereon as
to genuineness by a Trust Company or National Bank doing business in the
Commonwealth, as per section 3» chapter ^ of the Revised Ordinances of the
City of Sioraervllle.

vote. Roll call vote then taken to suspend rules to :allow second reading

taken on final adoption of order (11 Aldermen voted in affirmative. )
