Question: Do I need a separate username and password when accessing HomePlate from home?

Answer. No. If you have already created your HomePlate account from work, your username and password remain the

same when accessing it from outside GFS.

Question: Will I be able to access everything on HomePlate if I am not connected to the GFS network?

Answer: No. If you are not connected to the GFS network, some forms, resources, and your business applications will

not be available for security purposes.

Question: Will HomePlate support my browser?

Answer: HomePlate primarily supports Internet Explorer 6.0 and above, although other Web browsers (like Firefox and

Safari) may also work.

Question: I’ve forgotten my password. How do I change it?

Answer: How to change your password, if you’ve forgotten it:

• From the login page, click Forgot Password.

• Enter your employee number and click Submit.

• Enter your security question answer and click Submit.

• An e-mail will be sent to you with your new password, which has been redesigned to be more friendly but still

secure. Be sure to check your Junk Mail folder for this e-mail.

Question: I’m on HomePlate and want to change my password. How do I do this?

Answer: How to change your password, if you’re already in HomePlate:

• From the home page, in the upper-right corner, click Welcome Employee Number.

• Scroll down and click Change Password

• Type in your current Password.

• Type in your New Password.

• Type in your New Password again to confirm it.

• Click Change Password.

• You will see the following message: Change Password Complete. Your password has been changed.

• Click Home, the HomePlate logo, or the HomePlate breadcrumb to return to the home page.

Question: Who do I call for password help?

Answer: For HomePlate password issues, call the GFS Help Desk at 1-800-968-4369 or ext. 7800 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Answer: The Donation Request Form can be found under MP Department Services>Advertising/Promotion.

Question: Who in GFS Marketplace can access HomePlate?


Answer: All MPHQ, Store Managers, Assistant Managers, and Shift Leaders can access HomePlate. At this time, Sales

Associates do not have access to HomePlate.

Question: Where can I find birthdays and anniversaries?

Answer: For GFS Marketplace employees, you can find birthdays and anniversaries under Human

Resources>Recognition. For all other GFS employees, you can find birthdays and anniversaries under Popular

Info>Recognition.

Question: Where can I find Request for Special Pricing and Product Complaint/Concern Forms?

Answer: These items can be accessed from Product Management Team under MP Department Services or from MP

Forms (they are side bars) under Popular Info.

Question: Where can I find the Merchandise Supply Ordering Form?

Answer: This item can be accessed from Store Planning under MP Department Services or MP Forms-Supply under

Popular Info.

Question: What happened to Ask Gordy?

Answer: It got separated into several areas:

1. Nightly updates is under Popular Info.

2. The Source Manual is under Popular Info.

3. Tivoli Self Service - Help Desk is in two places: under Popular Info or under MP Department Services - Retail

Technology Services - Quick Links.

4. Self Help is under MP Department Services - Retail Technology Services - Quick Links. Use this for

reprogramming scanner bar codes, POS hardware and application errors, hardware diagrams, etc.

5. For your PC, we changed the wording from Ask Gordy to HomePlate.

Reminder: You can search for these items on HomePlate. When on the intranet, click on the Home tab, enter your

item in the designated box and click on the small magnifying glass icon (do not click on the word search).

Sales-specific Q&A

Question: How do I access Sales forms?

Answer: You have four different ways on HomePlate to access all Sales forms. You can access Sales forms under

Customer Services>Call Center; Customer Services>Division Sales; Customer Services>U.S. National Sales and

Support; or Popular Info>Forms/Resources>Sales Forms. Each page links to the same Sales forms.

Question: Where can I found a customer application?

Answer: Customer Account Applications are housed under Support Services>Finance. They are listed in the Quick

Links section or under All Finance Forms. You can also search for “customer account” or “customer application.”

Question: Where can I find Credit forms?

Answer: All Credit-related forms are owned by Finance and can be located under Support Services>Finance> All

Finance Forms>Credit. For example, you will find the Account Application here.

Question: How do I use the new Search function on HomePlate?

Answer: To search the entire site, you must be on the Home Page. To search specific pages within site, you must be on

the particular page (i.e. Human Resources for HR information or Facilities for Facilities Info). If you are on a specific

page, the search will only find information associated with that page. Be sure to click the small, magnifying glass to start

your search.

Answer: Under Popular Info>Place an Order, you can order business cards, as well as orders for Mindwire/GordonGear

items, hardware/software, and Office Depot items.
