The undersigned is directed to say that it has been decided with the approval of the Competent Authority to constitute a new Directorate General, namely, the Directorate General of Human Resource Development. The new Directorate General shall be created by merging the present Directorate General of Housing & Welfare and the Directorate of Organization & Personnel Management. The welfare function which is presently with the Directorate of Logistics shall also stand transferred to the new Directorate General. A copy of the notification is enclosed. 2. The Directorate General of Human Resource Development shall become operational w.e.f. 1st December, 2008 with the existing staff strength of the merged Directorates. Encl: As above -Sd- (R.
