PAST GRAND MASTER M. P. BERRY'S GENEROSITY.<br />

I have recently received <strong>of</strong>ficial notification from <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Directors <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Odd Fellows' Orphans' Home <strong>of</strong> a very pleasing trans-<br />

action, and quote <strong>the</strong> action <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Directors in explanation<br />

<strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong> .<br />

Bro<strong>the</strong>r James Henry Harris was instructed to draft a suitable<br />

resolution relative to <strong>the</strong> generous and useful gift <strong>of</strong> $500.00 for <strong>the</strong><br />

Berry Memorial <strong>Library</strong> by Past <strong>Grand</strong> Master M. P. Berry; and<br />

Bro<strong>the</strong>r J. W. Birney is to have <strong>the</strong> resolution engrossed, <strong>the</strong>n it is<br />

to be placed with <strong>the</strong>: picture <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> new cottage, both picture and<br />

resolution to be framed and a copy spread on <strong>the</strong> minutes <strong>of</strong> this<br />

Board.<br />

Dear Sir and Bro<strong>the</strong>r:—The Board <strong>of</strong> Directors <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Odd Fellows'<br />

Orphans' Home appreciate with <strong>the</strong> entire Order that whatever<br />

adds to <strong>the</strong> beauty and excellence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Orphans' Home, correspond-<br />

ingly increases <strong>the</strong> Fraternal reputation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Order that maintains it.<br />

It is with this thought in view, that <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Directors, as rep-<br />

resentatives <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Order,, in this connection, desires' to express to<br />

you its appreciation for your magnificent donation <strong>of</strong> a <strong>Library</strong>, which<br />

not only will be a source <strong>of</strong> great usefulness, but bespeaks <strong>the</strong> gener-<br />

ous character <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> donor.<br />

In directing that <strong>the</strong>se words be placed upon record <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board<br />

<strong>of</strong> Directors and that <strong>the</strong> same be engrossed, framed and presented to<br />

you, we realize that we inadequately express <strong>the</strong> sincerity <strong>of</strong> our<br />

feelings.<br />
