VACANCIES FILLED.<br />

Immediately after my installation I received <strong>the</strong> resignation <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Hon. J Otis Humphrey, Past <strong>Grand</strong> Master and Past <strong>Grand</strong> Repre-<br />

sentative, as a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Directors <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Odd Fellows'<br />

Orphans' Home at Lincoln, <strong>Illinois</strong>.<br />

Bro<strong>the</strong>r Humphrey had been a member <strong>of</strong> this board continuously,<br />

with <strong>the</strong> exception <strong>of</strong> one year, from <strong>the</strong> foundation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Home, and<br />

to him is due much <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> success <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Home. I am quite sure that<br />

<strong>the</strong> Fraternity at large appreciates his services and thanks him for tbe<br />

same.<br />

I appointed as his successor Gen. James Henry Harris, Major<br />

General commanding <strong>the</strong> Patriarchs Militant <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong> for quite a<br />

number <strong>of</strong> years, General Harris to serve one year, <strong>the</strong> unexpired term<br />

<strong>of</strong> Bro<strong>the</strong>r J Otis Humphrey.<br />
