Sec. 2. Money not Drawn Unless Appropriated.—No money shall<br />

be drawn from <strong>the</strong> treasury but in consequence <strong>of</strong> appropriations<br />

made by <strong>the</strong> Sovereign <strong>Lodge</strong>.<br />

ARTICLE VIII.<br />

Appointive Officers.<br />

Section 1. Duties <strong>of</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Chaplain.—The <strong>Grand</strong> Chaplain shall<br />

perform such duties as appertain to his <strong>of</strong>fice and as may, from time<br />

to time, be required by <strong>the</strong> Sovereign <strong>Lodge</strong> relative <strong>the</strong>reto.<br />

Sec. 2. Duties <strong>of</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Marshal.—The <strong>Grand</strong> Marshal shall<br />

assist <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Sire in performing his duties in such manner as may,<br />

from time to time, be required, and perform all <strong>the</strong> duties generally<br />

appertaining to such <strong>of</strong>fice.<br />

Sec. 3. Duties <strong>of</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Guardian.—The <strong>Grand</strong> Guardian shall<br />

prove every bro<strong>the</strong>r before admitting him, and allow none to depart<br />

without <strong>the</strong> usual formality.<br />

Sec. 4. Duties <strong>of</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Messenger.—The <strong>Grand</strong> Messenger shall<br />

perform such duties as <strong>the</strong> Sovereign <strong>Lodge</strong> may, from time to time,<br />

require for <strong>the</strong> convenience and comfort <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> members.<br />

Sec. 5. Duties <strong>of</strong> Assistant <strong>Grand</strong> Secretary.—The Assistant <strong>Grand</strong><br />

Secretary shall assist <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Secretary and shall perform such<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r duties as <strong>the</strong> Sovereign <strong>Lodge</strong> shall prescribe.<br />

ARTICLE IX.<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> Representatives.<br />

Section 1. <strong>Grand</strong> Representatives.—<strong>Grand</strong> Representatives shall<br />

be chosen by <strong>the</strong> several <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>s and <strong>Grand</strong> Encampments for<br />

<strong>the</strong> term <strong>of</strong> two years, and shall be divided into two' classes whose<br />

seats shall be vacated annually by rotation. Provided, however, that<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>s and <strong>Grand</strong> Encampments which are now or may here-<br />

after be entitled to two <strong>Grand</strong> Representatives may provide by general<br />

law for <strong>the</strong> election <strong>of</strong>, one <strong>of</strong> such <strong>Grand</strong> Representatives to serve<br />

for one year, his successor to be elected annually by such <strong>Grand</strong><br />

<strong>Lodge</strong> or <strong>Grand</strong> Encampment. Tn case <strong>of</strong> a vacancy by death, resignation<br />

or o<strong>the</strong>rwise during <strong>the</strong> recess <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> or <strong>Grand</strong> Encampment,<br />

such vacancy shall be filled for <strong>the</strong> unexpired term in<br />

<strong>the</strong> manner provided in <strong>the</strong> Constitution <strong>of</strong> such <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> or <strong>Grand</strong><br />

Encampment.<br />

Sec. 2. Apportionment <strong>of</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> Representatives.—<strong>Grand</strong> Representatives<br />

shall be apportioned as follows, viz.: To every <strong>Grand</strong><br />

<strong>Lodge</strong> or <strong>Grand</strong> Encampment having under its jurisdiction one thousand<br />

or less members in good standing, one <strong>Grand</strong> Representative; to<br />

every <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> or <strong>Grand</strong> Encampment having under its jurisdiction
