"Resolved, That <strong>the</strong> Transfer Certificate Law <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sovereign<br />

<strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> be so amended as to permit a charge for admission on<br />

Transfer Certificate, when <strong>the</strong> bro<strong>the</strong>r desiring transfer is above <strong>the</strong><br />

maximum age prescribed by <strong>the</strong> various Jurisdictions for ordinary<br />

admission, so that such form <strong>of</strong> admission shall be in conformity with<br />

extra charges for advanced age as levied in <strong>the</strong> various Jurisdictions,"<br />

makes it possible for <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> Jurisdictions to amend <strong>the</strong> Trans-<br />

fer Law so as to allow Subordinate <strong>Lodge</strong>s to charge a fee for admis-<br />

sion by transfer certificate, <strong>the</strong>refore, be it<br />

Resolved. That Article 10 <strong>of</strong> Section 2 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Transfer Law, found<br />

on page 394, <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> Journal <strong>of</strong> 1907, be amended by striking<br />

out <strong>the</strong> words "That no fee shall be charged a Bro<strong>the</strong>r who shall be<br />

admitted by transfer certificate," and insert in lieu <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> words<br />

"and such fee for admission by transfer certificate as fixed by By-Law."<br />

Article 10, Section 2. No person shall be admitted to membership<br />

in this <strong>Lodge</strong> for a less sum than is herein provided, viz: by<br />

initiation $5, by deposit <strong>of</strong> card $2, as an Ancient Odd Fellow $5, and<br />

as a non-beneficiary member $5, and such fee for admission by transfer<br />

certificate as may be fixed by By-Law, except that he shall pay<br />

for medical certificate regarding his health should one be required<br />

by <strong>the</strong> By-Laws <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Lodge</strong>, and provided fur<strong>the</strong>r that no admission<br />

fee shall be charged an applicant for membership under Article 10.<br />

Section 6, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Constitution <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Illinois</strong> regarding <strong>the</strong> aged Odd Fellows registered,' provided fur<strong>the</strong>r<br />

that no fee shall be charged for issuing a transfer certificate.<br />

To <strong>the</strong> <strong>Grand</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>, I. O. O. F.:<br />

:<br />

Your Committee on Railroads ,to whom was referred <strong>the</strong><br />

matter <strong>of</strong> a special train from Lincoln to Chicago on Thursday.<br />

November 20th, would report<br />

That <strong>the</strong> C. & A. R. R. <strong>of</strong>fer to give us a special train, leaving<br />

Lincoln at 7 P. M.. on a guaranty <strong>of</strong> 100 first-class fares to Chicago.<br />

All tickets for Bloomington, Chenoa, Pontiac, Dwight and Joliet<br />

will be accepted for transportation, but not included in <strong>the</strong> guaranty.<br />

The fare to be $3.12 Lincoln to Chicago. All parties holding return<br />

tickets, same will be honored on special train.<br />

Report adopted.<br />
