One-Stop Diversity, Quality and Service
Across the world people drink coffee and enjoy the many variations of a natural product. PROBAT supplies
roasters and whole plants to the coffee industry and offers customised solutions.
People who drink coffee nearly always come into contact
with PROBAT. Since 1868, the company has delivered
over 110,000 roasting machines world-wide. On the
basis of existing roasting machines today, seven out of ten
cups of coffee come into contact with PROBAT. Roll mills,
plants and control solutions are also part of the wide range
of products the Emmerich-based company boasts, that processes
and refines coffee perfectly on the basis of diversity
and customised solutions.
This first issue of LEONARDO gives you a brief overview of
PROBAT’s products. In the following issues we will focus
more on details.
Roaster
A long tradition and sophisticated knowledge at PROBAT
are the basis for an effective generation of roasters. Products
include roasting machines in different sizes with hourly
throughput of anything between 5 to 5,000 kg. A basic
principle is valid for all these machines, namely that energy
input, i.e. hot roasting air, is always separated from the mechanical
movement of the roasted product. Volume of air and
temperature can be controlled separately.
Shop roasters with an hourly throughput of about 5, 20,
48, 100 to 200 kg offer customised blends and provide end
customers with a special shopping experience. Quality-conscious
speciality roasters and small roasting businesses that
need only low capacity will find a good solution here.
In contrast, hourly throughputs of up to 1,500 kg are possible
with PROBAT’s mid-range roasters. This segment includes,
for example, the roasters R.../1, RT and ThermaTwo (see
also the interview on page 9).
Large quantity requirements can be handled by the models RZ,
RT and R …/1, which feature both flexible application and high
throughput capacities. →
