ELEKTA PROVIDES THREE-YEAR FUNDING FOR<br />
<strong>ISRRT</strong> WEBSITE RENOVATION<br />
Elekta will fund $30,000 USD, throughout the next three years, for the implementation of a<br />
complete Website renovation for the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological<br />
Technologists (<strong>ISRRT</strong>), a global organisation composed of 71 national radiographic societies from<br />
68 countries. With Elekta’s funding, the visionary approach of <strong>ISRRT</strong> is to create an effective,<br />
world-class Website (www.isrrt.org) that continues to connect and exchange information with<br />
<strong>ISRRT</strong>’s membership, resulting in improving the member education and the enhanced<br />
development of medical radiation technology.<br />
“Elekta has a strong commitment to radiographers and radiological technologists, and we strive to<br />
work closely through educational, professional and clinical means to ensure our relationship<br />
with the global radiation therapy community is strong and productive,” says Peter J. Gaccione,<br />
vice president of global marketing at Elekta. “The International Society of Radiographers and<br />
Radiological Technologists also is purposefully dedicated to the improvement practice standards<br />
in radiation medicine technology, which Elekta firmly supports.”<br />
Elekta also is a platinum sponsor of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)<br />
Education and Research Foundation’s Health Care Industry Advisory Council and annually funds<br />
four (4) $5,000 scholarships. Elekta will attend the Annual <strong>ISRRT</strong> 14th World Congress, hosted<br />
by ASRT and the Association of Educators in the Radiological Sciences, Inc., which will bring<br />
together an international community of more than 1,000 radiologic science professionals June<br />
9-13 in Denver.<br />
