Abstract
In recent years, the transnational companies in Costa Rica have grown significantly,
investing more in human resources, plant and equipment and training. About investment
in human resources, companies demand more professionals with different types of
skills, abilities and aptitudes. People with the requirements are exposed to great job
opportunities, competitive salaries and benefits packages, also very competitive. The
positions require not only technical skills but also skills to different and complex
situations. The objective of this research is to analyze the opportunities and importance
of transnational corporations in the labor market of Costa Rica, also to identify key skills
and requirements that a professional in the field of business administration need in one
of these companies. Also another specific objective is to identify whether these
companies are finding the skilled workforce they need for their various operations, and
also identify whether the job opportunities that are presented in Costa Rica are what
professionals really expect or are looking for.
