Abstract<br />

In recent years, the transnational companies in Costa Rica have grown significantly,<br />

investing more in human resources, plant and equipment and training. About investment<br />

in human resources, companies demand more professionals with different types of<br />

skills, abilities and aptitudes. People with the requirements are exposed to great job<br />

opportunities, competitive salaries and benefits packages, also very competitive. The<br />

positions require not only technical skills but also skills to different and complex<br />

situations. The objective of this research is to analyze the opportunities and importance<br />

of transnational corporations in the labor market of Costa Rica, also to identify key skills<br />

and requirements that a professional in the field of business administration need in one<br />

of these companies. Also another specific objective is to identify whether these<br />

companies are finding the skilled workforce they need for their various operations, and<br />

also identify whether the job opportunities that are presented in Costa Rica are what<br />

professionals really expect or are looking for.<br />
