Homenaje a Genesis
Los genesis de la época de peter gabriel han sido considerados como el mejor
grupo de rock progresivo del mundo. Entre los diferentes álbumes editados por
el grupo, “Selling England by the pound” fue uno de los que inspiró una actuación
teatral inusual y surrealista, a partir de las historias contadas en cada tema.
“the Musical Box” recrea la gira que genesis realizó en 1973 para presentar
ese álbum. La recreación es tan precisa que “the Musical Box” recurre a los
mismos instrumentos que se utilizaron en aquel momento. Entre estos clásicos
instrumentos destaca la guitarra de dos brazos rickenbaker que combina el
sonido del bajo con el de la guitarra semiacústica, fabricada en exclusiva para Mike
rutherford y que le permitía cambiar rápidamente el
sonido de las guitarras en temas como “dancing with
the Moonlit Knight “ o “cinema Show”.
Día 2 de marzo, a las 21:00, en el Aula Magna,
edificio del Rectorado de la Universidad de
Lisboa, Ciudad Universitaria (metro: Cidade
Universitária). Entradas de 44 a 50 euros.
Tribute to Genesis

as the best band of progressive rock in the world.
Amongst the various albums this band released
included “Selling England by the pound “, whose hits
inspired a theatrical and surrealist performance. “ the Musical Box “ recreate a tour
by genesis in 1973 performing this same album. this re-enactment is so detailed
that even the instruments used at the time are the very same ones played by
“ the Musical Box “ today. Featured amongst these original classic instruments
is the two-armed rickenbaker guitar combining bass with the sound of a semiacoustic
guitar. this guitar was exclusively made for Mike rutherford allowing
him to quickly change the sound of the guitar in hits such as “ dancing with the
Moonlit Knight “ or “ cinema Show “.
