Maria Ramos was born in Equitorial
Guinea, spent her childhood in
Spain and lived in New York City before
returning to Spain (Ibiza).
In New York City she attended the
Fashion Institute of Technology
while simultaneously attending
New York Academy of Art.
She uses her work to express her
philosophy that beauty is not a
possession but a creation, and as
an artist her goal is to provide joy
by creating beauty.
Integrating acrylics and a vast spectrum
of textures, her work is about
colour, life texture, movement,
rhythm. Her influences derive primarily
from a fusion of fashion and
a rich African heritage.

María Ramos nació en Guinea Ecuatorial,
paso su niñez y adolescencia
en España, para después madurar
en la ciudad de Nueva York durante
la década de los 90. En la actualidad
reside en Ibiza.
Estudió Diseño de Publicidad en el
Fashion Institute of Technology así
como arte en New York Academy
of Art.
En su obra, integra acrílicos con una
amplia variedad de materiales textiles
creando así vividos y expresivos
“Collages”. A menudo divide sus
sujetos en diferentes planos que
se componen en dípticos y trípticos
apoyándose en técnicas de Diseño
gráfico, publicidad y moda.
Explora el color, las texturas, el movimiento,
el ritmo, influenciada por
sus orígenes africanos, su inclinación
por el arte textil y por el acelerado
y siempre cambiante mundo
en el que vivimos.
