I. General Conditions of Contract
1. General Provisions
1.1 Definitions Unless the context otherwise requires, the following terms whenever
used in this Contract have the following meanings:
(a) “Applicable Law” means the laws, legislation and any other
instruments having the force of law in Honduras, as they may be
issued and in force from time to time.
(b) “Base Period Expiration Date” has the meaning given to it in the
SCC (Expiration of the Contract, section GCC 2.3).
(c) “Compact” has the meaning given to it in the recitals to this
Contract.
(d) “Consultant” has the meaning given to it in the preamble to this
Contract.
(e) “Contract” means this Contract as signed by the Parties, together
with all the attachments, including the GENERAL CONDITIONS OF
CONTRACT, the SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT, and the
APPENDICES, as may be amended, modified, or supplemented from
time to time as permitted pursuant to the terms of this Contract.
(f)
“Contract Price” means the price to be paid for the performance of
the Services, in accordance with GCC 6.2.
(g) “Day” means calendar day.
(h) “Effective Date” means the date on which this Contract comes into
force and effect pursuant to GCC 2.1.

“Foreign Currency” means US dollars (US$).
“GCC” means these GENERAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT.
(k) “Government” has the meaning given to it in the recitals to this
Contract.
(l) “in writing” means communicated in written form with proof of
receipt.
(m) “Local Currency” means Honduran Lempira.
(n) “MCA-Honduras” has the meaning given to it in the recitals to this
Contract.
(o) “MCC” has the meaning given to it in the recitals to this Contract.
(p) “MCC Funding” has the meaning given to it in the recitals to this
Contract.
(q) “Member” means any of the entities that make up the joint
venture/consortium/association; and “Members” means all these
entities.
