A moving magnetic field is used as a driving force. A loop isset up with a series of solenoids which operate sequentially to generate a movingmagnetic field. The system will be controlled by an electronic circuit to achieve thesequence required to operate the electromagnets. This non conventional pump hasno moving parts other than the ferrofluid and thus, it has great potentials in varietyof branches of engineering. The working fluid for the system is Mn 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 .Anumerical simulation were carried out to evaluate and select the proper time stepfor each coil afterwards. A prototype was fabricated to prove the concept.ii
