ENGLISH8 OperationWarningDanger of injury during gate travelIf people or objects are in the areaaround the gate while the gate is inmotion, this can lead to injuries ordamage.▶ Make sure that children are notplaying near the gate system.▶ Make sure that no persons orobjects are in the gate's travelrange.▶ If the gate system only has onesafety feature, only operate thesliding gate operator if you arewithin sight of the gate's travelrange.▶ Monitor the gate travel until the gatehas reached the end-of-travelposition.▶ Only drive or pass through remotecontrolgate systems when the gateis at a standstill!WARNINGDanger of crushing and shearingFingers or limbs may be crushed and severed if caught inthe toothed track or between the gate and closing edgewhile the gate is in motion.▶ Whenever the gate is moving, never touch the toothedtrack, toothed wheel, and the main or secondaryclosing edges.8.1 Instructing users▶ All persons using the gate system must be shown how tooperate it properly and safely.▶ Demonstrate and test the mechanical release as well asthe safety return.8.2▶Function check1. To check the safety reversal, stopthe gate with both hands while it isclosing. The gate system must stop andinitiate the safety reversal.2. Proceed in the same manner whilethe gate is opening. The gate system must stop andreverse briefly. In the event of a failure of the safety reversal, a specialistmust be commissioned immediately for the inspectionand repair work.8.3 Normal operationDuring normal mode, the sliding gate operator only worksaccording to the impulse sequence control (OPEN-STOP-CLOSE-STOP). It does not matter whether an external button, hand transmitter button or circuit board button T has beenactuated:▶ To open and close fully, press the appropriate impulsegenerator for channel 1.▶ To open and close partially, press the appropriateimpulse generator for channel 2.8.4 Behaviour during a power failureTo be able to open or close the sliding gate by hand during apower failure, it must be disengaged from the operator.Attention!Damage due to moisture▶ Protect the control from moisture when you open theoperator housing.1. Open the housing cover as shown in Figure 3.1.2. Release the operator by turning the locking mechanism. If necessary, press the motor and toothed wheel down byhand (see Figure 14.1).8.5 Behaviour following a power failureOnce the power supply has been restored, the gate must bereengaged with the operator upstream from the limit switch.▶ Slightly lift the motor while locking it (see Figure 14.2).9 Inspection and MaintenanceThe sliding gate operator is maintenance-free.In the interest of your own safety, we recommend having thegate system inspected and maintained by a qualified personin accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.WARNINGDanger of injury due to unexpected gate travelUnexpected gate travel can result during inspection andmaintenance work if the gate system is inadvertentlyactuated by other persons.▶ Disconnect the mains plug and, if applicable, the plugof the emergency battery when performing all work onthe gate system.▶ Safeguard the gate system against being switched onagain without authorisation.Inspection and repairs may only be carried out by a qualifiedperson. Contact your supplier for this purpose.A visual inspection may be carried out by the operator.▶ Check all safety and protective functions monthly.▶ Check the function of the resistance contact strips 8k2every six months.▶ Malfunctions and/or defects at hand must be rectifiedimmediately.38 TR10A082-C RE / 01.2011
