The polyolefins, which havehigher heat resistant properties, are added tothe compound in the form of bitumen-SBSto increase the rigidity of the membrane andto make it easier to apply during the summermonths while most of the elastic propertiesof the bitumen-rubber compound remain unchanged.The ultimate elongation is higherthan 1,500%, the flexibility in cold conditionsis –20°C and the high adhesive properties alsoremain. The compatibility with other bitumenand the peeling strength of the joints is notablyhigher than that of normal polymer modifiedbitumen membranes. The membranes areproduced in various weights and with variousreinforcements.<strong>HELASTOPLAN</strong> <strong>POLYESTER</strong> and <strong>MINERAL</strong><strong>HELASTOPLAN</strong> <strong>POLYESTER</strong> are reinforcedwith a composite, high weight, rot-proof, “nonwoven” polyester fabric, stabilized with fibreglassmat. This reinforcement has a high tensilestrength, is flexible and has optimal dimensionalstability in hot conditions which reduces theproblems of the banana effect and the retractionof head lap joints as it is 2 to 3 times more stablethan normal reinforcements in “non woven”polyester fabric.<strong>HELASTOPLAN</strong>/V is reinforced with rot-prooffibreglass mat which is strengthened longitudinallyand has high dimensional stabilityproperties.ECO GREENASBESTOSFREETARFREEENVIRONRMENTALCHLORINEFREENONRECYCLABLE DANGEROUSWASTEThe <strong>HELASTOPLAN</strong> <strong>POLYESTER</strong> and<strong>HELASTOPLAN</strong>/V membranes are coated onboth faces with Flamina film, which retracts duringtorch-on and guarantees the welding of thejoints and a fast and reliable adhesion.Also the underside of <strong>MINERAL</strong> HELASTO-PLAN <strong>POLYESTER</strong> is coated with Flaminafilm, while the upper face is protected with hotbonded and pressed slate granules, with theexception of a slate free, lateral overlap strip,protected with Flamina film which melts duringtorch-on.APPLICATION FIELDSThe <strong>HELASTOPLAN</strong> membranes retain the highelastic properties and the optimal resistanceto stress at low temperatures of SBS-bitumenmembranes combined with a higher rigidity inhot conditions which allows for easier applicationeven during the summer months or in hotclimates where there are more problems with theapplication of SBS-bitumen membranes.
