TREESSUMMARYAcacia melanoxylon R.Sr. is a forest species whose wood exhibits inlerestingcharacteristics to industrial use. It also presents suitable growth rates that position it as analternative forest culture of great value to diversify the national forest production.The previous statement has motivated that acacia is considered an interesting speciesfor research to maximize its productive potentia!. Among such studies, within the frameworkof project FDI·CORFO (~Massive Propagation and Development of Productive Options onthe basis of Proven Species ofAcacia in Chile», procedures were developed to make possibletheir vegetative propagation through in vitro techniques.In this document. is described the developed procedure to micropropagate adult treesof Acacia melanoxylon. which allowed to establish in vitro cultures in 50% of the testedgenotypes.
