Incertidumbre. Expectativa. Esperanza. Los argentinos
nos hemos vuelto expertos en emprender
viajes a destinos desconocidos, y siempre lo
hacemos con las valijas llenas de amor por nuestra
Patria, con la ilusión de quienes queremos ver
a este país salir adelante.
Hicimos cursos acelerados de turismo aventura:
mucho trekking de aquí para allá, equilibrio para
no caer en la grieta de un absurdo terremoto,
descensos en rappel, rafting en ríos tormentosos
y nado en aguas para nada tranquilas. Aprendimos
a remar, sobre todo. Hábiles remadores
en los escenarios más diversos. Y acá estamos,
buscando siempre salir a flote para dejar el agua
y meternos de lleno en alguna escalada que no
tenga fin. Los argentinos sí que sabemos de
adrenalina.
Viajeros empedernidos, vamos con la bandera
en alza y una pincelada celeste y blanca en medio
de nuestros corazones. Orgullosos de nuestros
colores. No importa qué, no importa quiénes.
Porque no nos define un partido ni una insignia.
Porque Argentina somos todos. Libertad. Respeto.
Democracia. Y la esperanza de que en este
viaje, las sonrisas salgan en todas las fotos.
Ojalá que este Cambio de Aire sea lo mejor para
todos.
Uncertainty. Expectation. Hope. The Argentines
have become experts on taking trips to unknown
destinations, and we always do it with the
suitcases full of love for our Motherland, with the
illusion of seeing this country move forward.
We took a crash course on adventure tourism:
much trekking, equilibrium not to fall into the
crack of an absurd earthquake, rappel descents,
rafting in stormy rivers and swims in restless
waters. Above all, we learnt to row. Skillful rowers
in the most diverse stages. And here we are,
always managing to stay afloat to leave the water
and fully take an endless climb. The Argentine do
know of adrenaline.
Hardened travelers, we raise our flag and a light
blue and white brush stroke in the middle of our
hearts. Proud of our colors. No matter what, no
matter who. Because we are not defined by a
political party or by any insignia. Because we all
are Argentina. Freedom. Respect. Democracy.
And the hope that in this trip, the smiles appear
in every photo.
We hope this Change of Air (Cambio de Aire) is the
best for everyone.

Se trata la doceava generación del sedán de la marca japonesa
para el Segmento C (compacto). Ofrece una mecánica
híbrida conformada por un propulsor naftero 1.8 16V VVT-i
que rinde 101 CV de potencia que se puede ampliar al combinarse
con dos motores eléctricos (MG1 y MG2) de 72 caballos
de fuerza y 16.6 kgm. Esto proporciona una aceleración más
lineal, que reduce o aumenta continuamente las marchas de
acuerdo con la demanda del motor, sin desperdiciar energía.
Lo más interesante es el consumo: Toyota anunció que el
Corolla híbrido gastará 3.4 litros cada 100 kilómetros, casi 30
kilómetros con un litro de combustible.
It is the twelfth of the Japanese sedan for the segment C
(compact). It offers a hybrid mechanics made up by a 1.8 16V
VVT-I gas engine, with 101 CV power that can be widened
by combining two electric engines (MG1 y MG2) of 72 Horse
Power and 16.6 kgm .This provides a more linear acceleration,
which constantly reduces or increases the gears according to
the engine demands, without wasting energy.
The most interesting is the consumption: Toyota announced

UN ACUERDO DE GOL Y AVIANCA HOLDINGS QUE BENEFICIA A LOS VIAJEROS \\ An agreement
between GOL and Avianca Holdings that benefits the travelers. Se trata de un acuerdo
de código compartido que permitirá a los viajeros conectar directamente en los vuelos de ambas
compañías aéreas, así como contar con un amplio rango de horarios y combinaciones de rutas.
Además, quienes compren estos boletos integrados podrán facturar el equipaje hasta su destino
final en vuelos de conexión y mantener el mismo código para ambos tramos. Este nuevo acuerdo
incluirá 60 destinos nacionales de GOL y 16 internacionales en 11 países, así como 26 destinos de

EXCURSIÓN IMPERDIBLE EN CATAMARCA: SENDERISMO CON LLAMAS \\ A compulsory
excursion in Catamarca: trekking with llamas. Se trata de singulares caminatas de reconocimiento
que se realizan en los Valles Calchaquíes y que tienen como protagonista a la llama, animal
representativo de la conquista del Imperio Inca hacia el sur del Perú. La comunidad originaria
“Cerro Pintado Las Mojarras”, sobre la mítica Ruta 40, recibe regularmente a cientos de visitantes
que se maravillan con el sitio arqueológico que lleva su mismo nombre y con esta interesante

llama, a representative animal of the Inca Empire conquest towards the south of Peru. The native
community “Cerro Pintado Las Mojarras”, on the mythical Route 40, regularly welcomes hundreds
of visitors who wonder at the archeological place that takes its name and at this interesting activity
framed among majestic landscapes which have survived the years.
AMÉRIAN PORTAL DE IGUAZÚ, RENOVADO \\ Amérian Portal de Iguazú, modernized. Amerian
Hoteles invirtió 16 millones de pesos a lo largo del año para llevar a cabo acciones de mejora
en su hotel de Iguazú, de cara a la temporada de verano 2020. Ubicado a metros del hito de las Tres
Fronteras con vista a la unión de los ríos Iguazú y Paraná, Amérian Portal de Iguazú optimizó, entre
otras cosas, sus servicios: abrió “Panambí Rooftop Bar”, un espacio exclusivo ideal para disfrutar
de un after office con vista única del atardecer misionero, y finalizó las obras de mantenimiento
general en su restaurante principal “La Misión”. Además, mejoró la propuesta de desayuno con la

EL CIELO SE DESPEJA
DE PRONTO Y EN MENOS
DE DOS HORAS DE RECORRIDO,
EL PAISAJE SERRANO
NOS INVITA A DESACELERAR”
L
La travesía inició con un vuelo al alba, bajo un cielo tormentoso
y con sobradas turbulencias que nos impidieron relajarnos
del todo. Buen momento para ocupar la cabeza en otra
cosa y repasar el circuito del viaje: Córdoba nos espera y hay
mucho por conocer.
Aterrizamos, con bastante sueño y más ganas de iniciar el
recorrido. Al volante de un auto rentado, vamos compartiendo
un desayuno reconfortante y necesario: café doble y unos
tradicionales alfajores cordobeses con corazón de frutos que
son nuestro primer contacto con las tradiciones del lugar.
Tomamos la Ruta Provincial N°5 para adentrarnos en el
centro de la provincia, más precisamente en el Valle de Calamuchita.
Alternamos entre ingresos a pueblos y campos
con sembradíos y animales de granja. El cielo se despeja
de pronto y en menos de dos horas de recorrido, el paisaje
serrano nos invita a desacelerar.
La primera parada es en Villa General Belgrano, una comuna
en la que se destacan edificaciones alpinas, pintorescos
comercios con fachadas en madera y pasajes decorados con
coloridos canteros de flores.
Mientras esperamos por una degustación de salchichas
germanas con chucrut en un patio cervecero -previa visita
a su fábrica artesanal-, un inspector de tránsito en la vía
pública llama nuestra atención: su altura, contextura física
y blanca tez salen de la media. Es descendiente de la ola de
inmigrantes centroeuropeos que llegó hasta estas tierras
por el siglo XIX, encantados por las semejanzas del paisaje
con los cantones y valles europeos de la zona de Suiza, Alemania
y Hungría.
A 40 minutos de este paraje, nuevamente por la RP 5, llegamos
a la bella Cumbrecita, otro de los reductos donde el
valle cordobés se convierte en un fantástico crisol de etnias
nacionales, de colonias de inmigrantes y grupos de turistas,
y donde volvemos a reconocer fisonomías europeas. Susy
atiende una pequeña tienda gourmet en este pueblo alpino y
peatonal. Es castaña, con unos enormes ojos celestes y unas
mejillas eternamente sonrojadas. Ella continúa con muchas
de las tradiciones que su familia le heredó, especialmente
las culinarias: “preparo la masa y su relleno de la misma
manera que lo hacía mi tía abuela”, nos cuenta con orgullo
mientras nos sirve un exquisito strudel de manzanas.
De regreso, desviamos nuestro camino hacia otro punto
turístico: Los Reartes. Cuando ingresamos al poblado, el
sonido de nuestro 0 km rentado era el único que irrumpía la
calma de la siesta. El pueblo, declarado en 2006 como Primer
Pueblo Patrio de la provincia de Córdoba, conserva en
cada uno de sus rincones una muestra evidente de la identidad
criolla y campestre. Calles empedradas, edificaciones
coloridas de fachadas simples, pulperías con ladrillos a
la vista y una bella capilla de estética muy tradicionalista
componen la escena. El lugar preserva circuitos históricos
y naturales de baja dificultad, como el sendero con huellas
talladas por los comechingones, en los márgenes del río
Los Reartes.
Descanso con el arrullo del río
Un radiante sol nos despierta temprano y, sin dudarlo,
elegimos pasar el día en Santa Rosa de Calamuchita para
refrescarnos en una de sus playitas rodeadas de verde vegetación.
Las rocas salientes del río Santa Rosa nos invitan a
sentarnos para sentir la brisa suave y el paso ligero del agua
bajo nuestros pies.
Relajados y con apetito, decidimos retomar nuevamente la
RP 5. Luego de unos 30 minutos de marcha, donde las curvas
y contracurvas se vuelven más pronunciadas descubrimos,
escondido entre sierras chicas, el gran espejo de agua dulce
de Embalse de Río Tercero, la reserva más grande de la
provincia. Si bien es posible recorrer sus tranquilas aguas
en distintas embarcaciones, nosotros decidimos observarlas
desde un parador en altura, mientras saboreamos un
pejerrey.
Senderos boscosos con fresco aire serrano, ideales para
caminatas de baja y mediana dificultad. Ríos y arroyos en
los cuales bañarse o practicar deportes acuáticos. Una excelente
gastronomía centroeuropea y pueblos pintorescos
repletos de historias sobre pioneros. Una RP 5 asfaltada y
señalizada. El Valle de Calamuchita es un destino de experiencias
diversas y fascinantes para todos los sentidos.

Circuitos: el Valle de Calamuchita ofrece una variada oferta gastronómica y circuitos guiados. Pero también
es posible -y muy aconsejable- recorrerla a pie y descubrir sus circuitos de trekking o cicloturismo
serranos. Para esta última opción lo mejor es acercase a una oficina de informes y solicitar un mapa y asesoramiento
sobre los caminos recomendados. \\ Circuits: the Calamuchita Valley offers a wide gastronomic
range and guided circuits. However, it is also possible –and quite recommendable- to tour around on foot and
discover its trekking circuit or hill cycling tourism. For the latter option, the best is to approach to a tourism
office and ask for a map and advise on the suggested ways.

Es templado durante todo el año, con un promedio anual de 18 °C.
En las zonas más elevadas, como Yacanto y La Cumbrecita, pueden
registrarse nevadas durante el invierno, mientras que en el verano,
el calor invita a disfrutar de un chapuzón en las playas del lugar. \\
Weather: it is mild throughout the year, with an annual average temperature
of 18° C (64.4°F). In the highest zones such as Yacanto and
La Cumbrecita, snowfalls can be registered in winter, while the heat
asks for a dip in the beaches of the place in summer.
GASTRONOMÍA
Preparaciones centroeuropeas, como el goulash con spätzleo y
las salchichas con chucrut; y los típicos sabores serranos, como
las tablas de quesos y salames, la parrillada o empanadas, hacen
una fiesta para el paladar. Hay una variada oferta de cervezas
artesanales e importadas y el dulce típico de la región es la zarzamora.
En la pastelería, se destaca la impronta alemana con
la selva negra y el strudel de manzana. \\ Gastronomy: Central
European dishes, such us the goulash with spätzleo and the sausages
with sauerkraut; and the typical flavors of the hills such
as cheese and salami, barbecue or empanadas, become a feast
for the palate. There is a wide range of craft and imported beers
and the typical sweet of the region is the blackberry. Concerning
patisserie, the German stamp prevails with the apple strudel and
the black forest cake.
BUENA CONECTIVIDAD
Para recorrer el Valle de Calamuchita en automóvil no es necesaria
la navegación satelital de un GPS: los mapas y aplicaciones
GPS por datos móviles funcionan sin interrupciones. \\ Good
connectivity: to tour around the Calamuchita Valley by car it is not
necessary the satellite navigation of a GPS: the GPS maps and
applications through mobile data work without interruptions.

Calamuchita Valley, full
of tradition and valley
The Center of the province of Córdoba combines hill landscapes with Central European and
national traditions. A destination to discover hundreds of places in the same trip.

The journey began with a flight to the dawn, under a stormy
sky and with many turbulences that prevented us from
relaxing completely. It was a good moment to set our minds
on something else and go over the trip circuit: Córdoba
awaits us and there is much to know.
We landed pretty asleep and feeling like starting our journey.
In the rented car, we share a comforting and necessary
breakfast: a large coffee and some traditional alfajores filled
with fruit which are our first contact with the traditions of
the place.
We take the Provincial Route N°5 to go to the center of the
province, more exactly in Calamuchita Valley. We alternate
the entrance to towns with sowing fields and farm animals.
Suddenly the sky becomes clear and in less than a 2-hour
trip, the hill landscape invites us to slow down.
The first stop is Villa General Belgrano, a district where the
high buildings stand out, picturesque shops with wooden
façade and landscapes decorated with colorful flowers.
While we are waiting for a tasting of German sausages
with sauerkraut in a brewer bar –previous visit to the
manufacturing factory- a traffic inspector calls our attention
in the street: his height, physical building and white skin
are out of the average. He is a descendant of the Central
European immigrant who arrived in these latitudes in the
19th century, delighted with the landscape similarities
with the cantons and European valleys of the Switzerland,
Germany and Hungary areas.
Just 40 minutes away from this stop, again along the
Provincial Route 5, we arrive in the beautiful Cumbrecita,
another bastion where the valley becomes a fantastic
melting pot of national ethnicity, immigration colonies and
tourist groups, and where we recognize European features
once again. Susy runs a small gourmet store in this alpine
and pedestrian village. She is dark, with enormous light blue
eyes and eternally blushed. She keeps many of the traditions
her family passes to her, especially the culinary ones: “I
prepare the dough and the stuff in the same way my great
aunt used to”, she proudly tells us while she serves us an
exquisite apple strudel.
When returning, we divert our way towards another tourist
point: Los Reartes. When we enter the village, the sound of
our brand new rented car is the only thing that interrupts the
calmness of the siesta. The village, declared the First Village
in the province of Córdoba in 2006, preserves an evident
sign of the creole and rural identity in every corner. Cobbled
streets, colorful buildings with simple façade, grocery stores
with old exposed bricks and a beautiful chapel with a very
traditional aesthetic make up the scene. The place keeps
historic and natural circuits of low difficulty, such as the path
with carved traces by the Comechingones, by the margins of
the Reartes River.
Rest with the river´s murmur
A splendid sun wakes us up very early and, without
hesitating, we choose to spend the day in Santa Rosa de
Calamuchita to get refreshed in one of its little beaches
surrounded by green vegetation. The rocks of the Santa
Rosa River invites us to sit down to feel the gentle breeze and
the light movement of the water under our feet
Relaxed but hungry, we decide to take back to the PR 5. After
a 30-minute drive, where the curves and reverse curves get
sharper and sharper, we find out, hidden among small hills,
the great sweet water mirror of Embalse de Río Tercero,
the biggest reservoir in the province. Although it is possible
to tour around its calm waters on different watercrafts, we
want to observe them from a high restaurant at the time we
enjoy a delicious pejerrey.
Wooded paths full of fresh hill air, ideal for low and medium
difficulty trekkings. Rivers and streams where to bathe or
do water sports. An excellent Central European gastronomy
and picturesque towns full of stories about pioneers. A PR
5 completely paved and well signed. Calamuchita Valley is a
destination with diverse and fascinating experiences for all
the senses.

El sur argentino tiene lugares hermosos, pero sin dudas éste es uno de nuestros favoritos en
el mundo. En la provincia de Neuquén, precisamente en el departamento de Los Lagos, se
encuentra Lago Espejo, un remanso de paz absoluta y un regalo para nuestros ojos.
Si bien todos los lagos de esta región son muy bellos, nuestro preferido tiene un encanto muy
particular al que debe su nombre: sus aguas tranquilas y limpias reflejan a la perfección la
imagen de los árboles y el cielo, duplicando en espejo su belleza.
Paisaje sublime, por dos
Nos levantamos temprano para emprender el famoso y encantador Camino de los Siete
Lagos. Fuimos hasta Villa La Angostura y desde allí tuvimos que recorrer unos 20 kilómetros
para llegar a Lago Espejo. El clima no podría habernos regalado un mejor día, y eso colaboró
para que pudiéramos apreciar el efecto del reflejo en su plenitud.
Madrugar tuvo su recompensa: al llegar temprano, la gente en el lugar aún era muy poca,
por lo que disfrutamos casi en soledad un contexto de ensueño. Si bien ambos conocíamos el
lago, ir por primera vez juntos, en pareja, le dio a la experiencia un romanticismo adicional.
Y como si la naturaleza no fuera suficiente, un pintoresco muelle completa el paisaje. Desde
la playa y hacia el interior del lago se extiende un largo camino de madera, que nos invitó a
recorrerlo tranquilos, a tomar desde allí unas lindas fotos y observar de cerquita el efecto del
reflejo.
Visitar el lugar es una gran oportunidad para estar en pleno contacto con la naturaleza y, si se
tiene la posibilidad, quedarse a pasar gran parte del día. Sin dudas, una de esas experiencias
que llenan el cuerpo y el alma de sensaciones que no se olvidan.

¿CÓMO LLEGAR?
Lago Espejo se encuentra en el Camino de los Siete Lagos, entre San Martin de
Los Andes y Villa La Angostura, provincia de Neuquén. El camino está muy bien
señalizado, pero aconsejamos tener los destinos marcados en algún mapa para poder
encontrarlo con facilidad. A diferencia de la mayoría de los otros lagos, el acceso a
Lago Espejo no se encuentra sobre la Ruta Nacional N°40, sino que hay que desviarse
unos 200 metros para llegar al estacionamiento público de la playa.
¿DÓNDE CONVIENE ALOJARSE PARA HACER ESTE RECORRIDO?
Lo ideal es en Villa La Angostura, San Martín de Los Andes o Bariloche. Todas estas localidades
se encuentran relativamente cerca, y manejar por estos caminos no será para nada
estresante.
NUESTRA RECOMENDACIÓN:
Si bien en un tour o excursión se podrá disfrutar del lugar, lo ideal para hacer esta travesía es
ir por medios propios, para poder tomarse el tiempo que se desee para deleitarse con este
paisaje increíble, e incluso, para poder pasar allí el día.

world. In the province of Neuquén, exactly in the department of Los Lagos, there it is Espejo
Lake, a backwater of absolute peace and a gift for our eyes.
Although every lake in this region is absolutely beautiful, our favorite one has a very particular
charm from which it takes its name: its quiet and clear waters perfectly reflect the image of
tress and the sky, replicating its beauty.
Sublime landscape, for two
We get up early to start the famous and charming Seven Lakes´Road. We went to Villa
Langostura and from there we had to travel about 20 kilometers to reach Espejo Lake. The
weather couldn´t have been better, and that helped to fully appreciate the reflection effect.
Having gotten up so early had its reward: by arriving early, there were a few people in the area,
therefore we could enjoy this magnificent place in solitude. Although we both knew the lake,
going together for the first time, as a couple, made the experience more romantic.
And as if the nature wasn´t enough, a picturesque dock completed the landscape. From the
beach and towards the interior of the lake, it extends a long wooden path, which invited us to
relaxingly follow it, to take some nice photos and to closely watch the reflection effect.
Visiting the place is a great opportunity to fully be in contact with nature and, if it is possible,
to stay to spend most of the day. Undoubtedly, one of those experiences that fill both the body
and soul with unforgettable sensations.
How to reach?
Espejo Lake is found in the Seven Lakes´ Road, between San Martin de Los Andes and Villa
La Angostura, province of Neuquén. The road is well defined, however we recommend to
have the destinations well marked in a map to find it easily. Unlike most of the other lakes,
the access to Espejo Lake is not on the National Route N°40, but you have to divert about 200
meters to reach the public parking place of the beach.
Where should you stay to take this tour?
The best option is to stay in Villa La Angostura, San Martín de Los Andes or Bariloche. All
these places are relatively close, and driving along these roads won´t be stressful at all.
Our recommendation:
Whether on a tour or excursion, you will enjoy the place. The ideal to take this tour is to go
with your own means of transport , you can take any time you want to marvel at this amazing
landscape, and, what is more, to spend the whole day there.

La mitad del año nos encontró con ganas de cortar la rutina. Queríamos disfrutar de unos días
en familia pero no teníamos tiempo para tomarnos unas vacaciones largas. Cariló apareció
entonces como una excelente opción.
Un viaje de tan sólo cuatro horas desde la Capital Federal nos condujo a esta zona balnearia
que tiene adeptos que la elijen durante el verano y muchos otros, como nosotros, que la visitan
fuera de la temporada alta, seducidos por su propuesta de calma y relax. Bien vale escaparse
a la naturaleza en cualquier época del año.
¿Qué tiene Cariló que siempre encanta? Tiene atardeceres de ensueño en playas inmensas,
médanos para recorrer en 4x4, frondosos bosques para andar en bicicleta y dejarse envolver
por la magnitud de una reserva natural plagada de pinos, aromos y acacias. La naturaleza y el
hombre conviven, se hacen uno, se fusionan en un marco de belleza y tranquilidad.
Desde el balcón de nuestro apart, uno de los tantos complejos con salida directa a la playa en
los que es posible hospedarse en Cariló, podíamos disfrutar de la salida del sol, apreciar el
oleaje del mar y ver a los chicos correr por la arena, en una playa que parecía casi exclusiva
para nosotros.
Por las tardes, una caminata por sus callecitas de tierra para apreciar las pintorescas viviendas,
construidas en absoluta armonía con el medio ambiente, muchas de ellas de diseño
rústico y otras vanguardistas y más minimalistas.
Y para terminar el día, una amplia variedad de locales gastronómicos para cenar rico, en un
centro comercial que combina rusticidad y sofisticación.

We felt like changing the routine in the middle of the year. We wanted to enjoy some days
together as a family but we didn´t have the time to take a long vacation. Cariló appeared to be
an excellent option.
A four-hour trip from Capital Federal led us to this beach area that has followers who choose it
during the summer and many others, like us, who visit it outside the high season, seduced by
its proposal of relaxation and quietness. It is well worth being in contact with nature any time
of the year.
What is so special with Cariló? It has captivating dusks in immense beaches, sand dunes to be
climbed on ATV, lush forests to ride bikes and to let yourself be covered by the magnitude of a
natural reserve full of pines, aromos and acacias. Nature and men coexist, become one in a
context of beauty and quietness.
From the balcony of our apartment, one of the so many complexes with a direct exit to the
beach, we could enjoy the sunset, appreciate the sea waves and see the kids running on the
sand, along a beach that seemed almost exclusive to us. In the afternoons, we would walk
along its dirt roads to appreciate the picturesque dwellings, built in absolute harmony with
the environment; many of them have a rustic design and some others an avant-garde and
minimalist design.
And to end the day, a wide range of gastronomic shops where to have a delicious dinner, in a
commercial center that combines sophistication and rusticity.

UN JARDÍN DE COLIBRÍES EN CARILÓ
A GARDEN OF HUMMINGBIRDS IN CARILÓ
El primer jardín de colibríes del país será inaugurado en Cariló, con el objetivo de reconquistar
al ave y atraerla con las flores que necesita para alimentarse, en un paisaje protegido totalmente
al aire libre.
El jardín tendrá lugar dentro del predio Cariló Golf, en un espacio de 900 m2 que se llenará de
flores y colores. Quienes lo visiten podrán disfrutar del vuelo del colibrí y de un paisaje único,
así como informarse y adquirir herramientas suficientes para replicar el jardín en sus hogares
y así ayudar a traerlos de vuelta.
Su inauguración está prevista entre septiembre y octubre de este año, bajo el impulso de
la Fundación Cariló, la Cámara de Turismo local y Cariló Golf.

The first garden of hummingbirds in the country will be opened in Cariló, with the aim of
reconquering the bird and attracting it to the flowers it needs to get fed, in a fully protected
landscape in the open air.
The garden will be located inside the Cariló Golf, a 900 m2-place that will be full of flowers and

Capítulo 1 – El viaje
Fue en un viaje de trabajo al que había sido invitada como
prensa. Iba a traer la nota de tapa pero me traje la que es hoy
la historia de mi vida. Me tocaba cubrir la fiesta a la Virgen de
la Asunción, un evento religioso que se realiza todos los 15 de
agosto en Casabindo, al norte de la provincia de Jujuy, donde
año tras año se dan cita cientos de fieles.
Todavía no lograba comprender por qué me habían mandado
a mí a semejante festejo. No creía en ningún tipo de dios y
mucho menos en alguna virgen, por lo que esta experiencia
sería todo un desafío periodístico, en donde intentaría comprender
o compartir por algunas horas la fe que mueve a
tantas personas a congregarse en ese lugar.
Tomé el vuelo de la noche, con una valija de mano, la de siempre,
la que me acompaña con ropa de invierno o de verano
según sea el destino de turno. Los viajes siempre fueron para
mí la parte divertida del trabajo, la oportunidad periodística
de visitar lugares y descubrir paisajes, gente, culturas, comidas
exóticas. Yo tenía la suerte de poder conocer y aprender
(un regalo maravilloso para un alma curiosa e inquieta como
la mía) a cambio de contar mi experiencia en un buen informe
y traer algunas fotos para ilustrar.
Apenas llegué al Aeropuerto de San Salvador de Jujuy vi a un
señor de bigotes que sostenía un cartel con mi nombre; me
esperaba para llevarme al hotel. “Esperamos también a otra
persona”, me dijo. Tenía entendido que la invitación había
sido sólo para mi medio, por lo que la noticia me asombró
pero no me inquietó. Estoy acostumbrada a compartir mis
viajes con colegas, perfectos desconocidos con los que puedo
convivir por días, unidos solamente por la pasión que nos
genera nuestro trabajo, el periodismo, la noticia, las ganas
de ver, de sentir, de probar, de experimentar.
Estuvimos más de 20 minutos esperando, lo que resultaba
bastante incomprensible considerando que el Sr. Periodista
al que aguardábamos viajaba en mi mismo vuelo. De repente
apareció, con un sobretodo azul y una valija de un tamaño
exagerado, emanando perfume, con el paso lento y la mirada
distraída, en una actitud que me pareció irritante, irrespetuosa
para con nosotros, los dos giles que esperábamos, y con
nuestro tiempo.
Revoleé los ojos y se me escapó un soplido. Es uno de los
defectos que tengo: no me sale disimular lo que siento, no
puedo caretear lo que me pasa en ciertas situaciones. Y como
buena ariana, tengo un sexto sentido para presentir a los
idiotas, me basta sólo una mirada para detectar a aquellos de
los que debo alejarme. Las primeras malas impresiones me
inundan como si fueran un olor nauseabundo que llega hasta
mi nariz y me asquea.
“Hola, cómo va, soy Pedro”. Pedro. Y a mí qué me importa.
Por qué mejor no me contás en qué momento viene la disculpa,
o la explicación de dónde miércoles te habías metido.
Podía suponer que iba a llegar después de esa presentación
berreta que hiciste de tu persona, en donde tu nombre era lo
que menos hablaba de vos. Ya te habías mal presentado con
tu actitud desconsiderada.
“Listo, estamos todos”, dijo nuestro chofer. Todos, que éramos
vos y yo y todo un mundo de distancia entre nosotros.
Atinaste a levantar mi valija para ayudarme a ponerla en el
baúl, pero te paré en seco. “Yo puedo”, te dije mientras acomodaba
mi equipaje. “Aparte, vas a necesitar tus energías
para levantar la tremenda valijita que te trajiste, ¿te dijeron
que el viaje era de 4 días?”, te lancé irónica. Me salió, no lo
pensé. Era otro de mis defectos, mi lengua venía atada a
mis pensamientos, en camino directo, sin filtro, sin escalas
que pudieran hacerme pensar dos minutos que sería
más conveniente en algunos casos callar. Abriste los ojos
en asombro, inclinaste tu cuerpo hacia atrás y te sonreíste
de costado. “Bueno, parece que viajamos con una periodista
de chimentos, bien ácida y amante de los conflictos”, dijiste
risueño. El chofer largó una carcajada desubicada. (Ocupáte
de conducir, ¿dale?)
Como era de esperar, te sentaste en el lugar del acompañante,
como copiloto de tu festejante de chistes malos. Giraste
tu cabeza, buscaste mi mirada y con una sonrisa relajada,
dijiste: “Te dejamos el asiento de atrás así vas más cómoda”.
Más cómoda. Como si supieras algo de lo que a mí me
conviene, de lo que prefiero. “Qué tipo fastidioso”, pensé. No
te contesté. Apoyé mi cabeza en el cristal, busqué algunas
estrellas en las que entretenerme y me sumí al silencio en
todo el viaje hacia el hotel.

Literary tourism: Fiction
on real stages
Chapter 1 – The trip
I was invited to a business trip as part of the press. I was
going to bring the cover story, but, instead, I brought what it
is today the story of my life. I had to cover the Assumption of
the Virgen fest, a religious event that takes place every 15th
of August in Casabindo, in the north of the province of Jujuy,
where hundreds of followers go year after year.
I still couldn´t understand why I had been sent for such
a fest. I didn´t believe in any kind of god and even less in
any virgin, which turned this experience into a journalist
challenge, where, for some hours, I would try to understand
or share the faith that gathers so many people in this place.
I took the night flight, with the usual handbag, which
accompanies me with either summer or winter clothes
depending on the destination. Trips have always been the
funny part of the job for me, the journalistic opportunity
to visit places and discover landscapes, people, cultures,
exotic food. I was lucky enough to know and learn (a
wonderful gift for a curious and restless soul like mine)
in exchange for telling my experience in a good report and
bringing some photos to illustrate.
As soon as I arrived at the airport of San Salvador de Jujuy,
I saw a man with moustaches holding a sign with my name;
he was waiting for me to take me to the hotel. “We are also
waiting for another person”, he told me. I thought that I
was the only one who had been invited, therefore I was
surprised but not troubled. I am used to sharing my trips
with colleagues, perfect strangers who I can live with for
some days, solely united by the passion that our profession
generates: journalism, the news, the desire to see, feel, try,
experiment.
We were waiting for more than 20 minutes, which was quite
strange since the journalist we were waiting for had traveled
on my same flight. Suddenly he appeared with a blue coat
and an exaggerated suitcase, emanating perfume, at a
slow pace and with a lost look, in an attitude that seemed
irritating to me, disrespectful to us, the two fools who were
waiting, and to our time.
I rolled my eyes and accidentally sighed. It is one of my
defects: I cannot conceal my feelings, I cannot fake what
happens to me in certain situations. And since I am Aries,
a have a sixth sense to feel idiots, just a look is enough to
detect those people I should get away from. The first bad
impressions invade me as if they were a sickening smell
that reaches my nose and nauseates me.
“Hi, how are doing? I´m Pedro”. And who cares! Why don´t
you tell me when you are going to apologize, or explain
where the hell you had been. I could guess that you were
going to make your apology after such a cheap introduction.
You had already introduced yourself very badly with that
impolite attitude.
“Ready, we are all”, our driver said. All, which meant you
and I and a whole world of distance between us.
You were about to lift my suitcase to help me put it in the
trunk but I abruptly stopped you. “I can do it”, I told you while
I placed my luggage. “Besides, you´ll need your energy
to raise your little big suitcase, weren´t you told that it is
a 4-day trip?”, I ironically asked him. I said that without
thinking. It was another defect of mine, my tongue was
tied to my thoughts, without any filter, without stopovers
that make me think for two minutes that it would me more
convenient to be quiet in some cases. Your eyes were wide
open in astonishment, you leaned backwards and smiled.
“Well, it seems that we travel with a gossip journalist, very
acid and conflict lover”, you cheerfully said. The driver
laughed in an inappropriate way. (Mind your driving, will
you?)
As it was expected, you sat down on the passenger seat,
as a copilot. You turned down, searched my look and with
a relaxed smile you said “we leave you the back seat so you
can be more comfortable”. More comfortable. As if you knew
something about what it is convenient for me, about what I
prefer. “What an irritating guy!”, I thought. I did not answer
back. I rested my head on the car window, I looked for some
stars with which I could entertain myself and stayed silence
throughout the trip to the hotel.

GENTILEZA MINISTERIO DE TURISMO DEL ECUADOR
“Desayunar en la selva, almorzar en la sierra y cenar en la costa”. Lo repiten las cuerdas
vocales de los habitantes de Ecuador. Y es verdad. El país de la mitad del mundo
ECUADOR
es pequeño, pero a su vez, infinito. Paisajes, climas, relieves y hasta la gastronomía
cambian con algunas pisadas del acelerador.
Atravesando la ruta E30 se empieza a sentir el clima tropical, propio del oriente ecuatoriano.
Entre los cerros teñidos de verde y las faldas del volcán Tungurahua, aflora una
pequeña ciudad: Baños de Agua Santa, también conocida como Baños. Este poblado
de quince mil habitantes es uno de los puntos más turísticos del país y debe su nombre
al poder curativo de las aguas termales de la zona.
El sonido del agua al caer es la música perfecta para contemplar todo el verde que
rodea el andar. La naturaleza es quien cubre el espacio. Los senderos se pierden entre
los cerros. La humedad acompaña la estadía a cada paso.
Cruzando por la plaza principal no es difícil visualizar la parada de autobuses que
conduce hasta la famosa Casa del Árbol y su “Columpio del Fin de Mundo”, a unos
2660 m.s.n.m.
Treinta minutos de curvas y pendientes son suficientes para llegar a destino. Arriba,
codeándome con las nubes, junto a una larga y expectante fila de personas espero
ansioso el gran momento de sentarme en la hamaca y sentirme un pájaro sobre el
abismo. En frente, la neblina se funde con las montañas.
Es mi turno. Una mano desconocida me tiende el objeto preciado. Me acomodo sobre
la plataforma, me abalanzo hacia el borde y, simplemente, levanto los pies.
Sobre esta tabla de madera, agarrado con fuerza de las sogas que me sostienen,
estirando las piernas hasta donde ya no se puede, justo ahí es donde siento que todo
comienza y acaba a la vez.
Estoy volando.
Nado en el cielo. Floto unos segundos y vuelvo. Voy y vengo sobre el precipicio y regreso
a la tierra para darme impulso y salir otra vez hacia el firmamento, hacia la nada, hacia
el todo. El viento, veloz, da latigazos sobre la cara. La sonrisa se expande de sur a norte,
de este a oeste.
¡Ooohh! ¡Aaaahhh! ¡Eehhh! ¡Uuuuhhh! Murmuran las voces de quienes aguardan
emocionados por su cita. La felicidad se congela en un momento que se convierte en
eterno. En alquimia infinita para el resto de la vida, para rejuvenecer el espíritu cuando
el cuerpo afloje, para recordar lo excelso de estos ínfimos instantes cada vez que así
sea necesario.
Este rincón de Ecuador es magia. Magia sin fin.

Swing at the End of the World
There exists a place where to fly for a while is possible: a swing of 2,660-meter above the sea level
to rock among the clouds, with the feet high and the heart beating strongly.
ECUADOR
“Having breakfast in the forest, having lunch in the hills and
having dinner on the coast”. The inhabitants of Ecuador keep
on repeating so. And it is true. The country of the middle
world is little, but endless at the same time. Landscapes,
weathers, topographies and even the gastronomy changes
with some steps of the accelerator.
Going through the route E30, you can start feeling the
tropical weather, typical of the Ecuadorian East. Among the
green hills and the sides of the Tungurahua volcano, there
appears a little city: Baños de Agua Santa, also known as
Baños. This town of 15,000 inhabitants is one of the most
important tourist point in the country and owns its name
to the therapeutic power of the thermal waters of the area.
The sound of the water when falling is the perfect music to
contemplate all the green that surrounds us. It is nature that
covers the space. The paths get lost among the hills. The
humidity accompanies the stay on every step.
Going across the main square, it is easy to see the bus stop
that takes you to the famous Casa del Árbol and its “Swing at
the End of the World”, some 2,660 meters above the sea level
Thirty minutes of curves and slopes are enough to reach the
destination. Upwards, among the clouds, together with a long
and anxious queue I look forward to the big time to sit down in
the hammock and feel myself a bird over the abyss. Opposite,
the fog fuses with the mountains.
It is my turn. An unknown hand stretches out the precious
object. I get comfortable on the platform, I rush towards the
edge and I simply lift my feet.
On this wooden board, I fiercely grab the ropes that hold
me, stretching the legs as much as possible, it is just there
where I feel that everything starts and ends at the same
time.
I am flying.
I swim in the sky. I float for some seconds and come back.
I go forwards and backwards on the precipice and return to
the earth to gather impulse and jump again towards nothing,
towards everything. The fast wind whips my face. The smile
spreads wide open.
¡Ooohh! ¡Aaaahhh! ¡Eehhh! ¡Uuuuhhh! Whisper the voices
that are excitedly waiting for their turn. Happiness freezes
in a moment that seems eternal, in endless alchemy for the
rest of the life, to renew the spirit when the body gets relaxed,
to remember the sublime intimate moments every time it is
necessary. This corner of Ecuador is magic. Endless magic.

POR EL MUNDO
Un pequeño cartel sobre la ruta indica que estamos cerca: “Perla del Tirreno”, anuncia,
e inaugura el acceso a nuestro destino. Así le llaman a Tropea, esta ciudad habitada por
tan sólo 6300 personas que tienen el privilegio de vivir en tremenda majestuosidad.
Su entrada es sencilla, como la de cualquier otro pueblo de Italia, pero pronto aflora
su belleza, se vuelve indiscutible. La mirada se pierde en los colores de las flores de
los jardines y el matiz de las casas de granito. Todo es pequeño e inmenso a la vez. Y
al llegar a la costa, el interminable turquesa del mar y las arenas blancas provocan un
efecto hipnótico.
Tropea logra cautivar, sorprender y, ante todo, enamorar. Sus callecitas empedradas
y zigzagueantes conservan a la perfección las marcas del pasado y de la tradición
calabresa. El dialecto se convierte en melodía que invade cada espacio, creando una
atmósfera típicamente italiana.

TESTIMONIO DEL PASADO
Recorrerla a pie es lo ideal: en el centro histórico, las iglesias y los palacios se encuentran
a poca distancia entre sí, por lo que el circuito no sólo es accesible sino también,
placentero. Las paradas intermedias en algún bar de su calle comercial Vittorio
Emanuele son todo un clásico: el olor inconfundible del café espresso italiano invita a
hacer una pausa necesaria y reconfortante. Del mismo modo, los restaurantes ofrecen
mesas al aire libre en patios o terrazas de ensueño que le agregan a las cenas y los
almuerzos un condimento único de disfrute.
La mayoría de las edificaciones más destacadas de Tropea fueron construidas en el
medioevo. Sin embargo, a lo largo de los años, los distintos movimientos arquitectónicos
impregnaron su estilo propio y lograron la gran singularidad edilicia actual.
Conocer la catedral es viajar a otro tiempo: fundada en época romana, conserva aún
hoy dos portones góticos y en su interior, crucifijos, pinturas y esculturas de mármol
del Renacimiento.
POSTAL DE ENSUEÑO
Y si hablamos de atardeceres, aquí lo hacemos con mayúsculas. En L´Affacio, un punto
panorámico ubicado al final de la calle principal del centro histórico, el mejor espectáculo
da comienzo cada tarde. La gente se aproxima a este “balcón al mar”, las parejas
de enamorados buscan la perfecta ubicación para el beso más romántico. Pronto, el
cielo anaranjado se convierte en la mejor postal escenográfica. La silueta de la Iglesia
Santa Maria dell’Isola -emblema de la ciudad- se asoma por encima de una roca en el
mar, mientras que el azul del Tirreno se encarga de dar la última pincelada de color.
La particularidad de sus playas, por cierto, termina de convertirla en un excelente destino
para vacacionar durante el verano europeo. Debajo de un impresionante acantilado
de 50 metros en el que se extiende el pueblo y sin nada que envidiarle a las playas del
Caribe, el mar cristalino y la arena blanca son el plan perfecto para quienes buscan
relax y darse un chapuzón en aguas tibias y poco alborotadas.
Después de recorrer esta ciudad costera calabresa, es fácil darse cuenta por qué le
dicen “la perla del Tirreno”. Un destino sublime, capaz de enamorar a todo aquel que la
visita con su mezcla única de belleza, cultura e historia.

Tropea, an Italian jewelry
Idyllic beaches and a picturesque historic center located in the peak of the cliffs
are combined in this little city in the east coast of Calabria, in the south of Italy.

A small sign on the route indicates that we
are close: ““the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea”
announces and opens the access to our final
destination. This is the way they name Tropea,
this city of only 6,300 inhabitants who have the
privilege of living in such an immense majesty.
Its entrance is simple, like any other Italian
town´s entrance, but soon its beauty springs
up, and becomes undeniable. The look gets lost
with the colors of the flowers in the gardens
and the shade of the houses made of granite.
Everything is tiny and immense at the same
time. And when reaching the coast, the endless
turquoise of the sea and the white sands provoke
a hypnotic effect.
Tropea manages to captivate, surprise and,
above all, win your heart. Its cobbled and
zigzagging lanes perfectly keep the traces of
the past and tradition of Calabria. The dialect
becomes a melody that invades every space by
creating a typical Italian atmosphere.
Testimony of the past
Touring around it on foot is the ideal: in the
historic center, the churches and palaces are
located very closely one from the other, what
makes the circuit both accessible and pleasant.
The intermediate stops in some bar of the
commercial street Vittorio Emanuele are typical:
the distinctive smell of Italian Espresso coffee
invites you to make a necessary and comforting
stop. Furthermore, the restaurants offer tables
in the open air in charming patios or terraces
that add a unique enjoyment condiment to the
lunches and dinners.
Most of the outstanding buildings of Tropea
were built in the Middle Ages. However,
throughout the years, the different architectonic
movements imbued them with a unique style
and gave them the present singularity. Knowing
the cathedral is traveling to other time: founded
in Roman times, it still keeps two gothic gates
and in its interior, crucifixes, paintings and
marble sculptures from the Renaissance.
A dreamy postcard
And if we talk about dusks, we do it with
capital letters here. At L´Affacio, a panoramic
point located at the end of the main street of
the historic center, the best show starts every
afternoon. People get closer to this “balcony
overlooking the sea”, lovers look for the perfect
location for the most romantic kiss. Soon, the
orange sky becomes the best stage postcard.
The silhouette of the Santa Maria dell’Isola
Church – a symbol of the city- appears above a
rock in the sea, while the blue of the Tyrrhenian
Sea is responsible for the last brush stroke of
color.
By the way, the particularity of its beaches
turns it into an excellent destination to go on
vacation during the European summertime.
Under an impressive 50- meter- cliff where
the town extends and which are not certainly
inferior to the Caribbean beaches, the crystal
sea and the white sand make the perfect plan
for those who look for relaxation and a dip in
warm and quiet waters.
After touring around this coastal city in
Calabria, it is easy to realize why it is called
“the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea”. A sublime
destination, able to conquer anyone who visits

Su taller en el barrio de San Telmo alberga objetos
de todas partes del mundo, memorias de sus viajes, de aquellos
paisajes que fueron y son su inspiración.
Jorge Frasca pinta recuerdos de lugares reales que albergan
por siempre en sus pensamientos
EEste pintor argentino lleva realizados 2890 cuadros. Ha realizado series de pinturas
sobre el norte de África, Marruecos, Mali y sobre los pueblos blancos del sur de
España y el norte de Italia. De la Argentina, sus cuadros recorren desde la pampa
húmeda, el campo y la llanura hasta los paisajes más bellos del sur, aunque aclara:
“prefiero otras zonas menos bonitas, el sur es de por sí demasiado hermoso.”
Para él, Argentina es fuente inagotable de inspiración: “Yo pasé mi vida recorriendo
el país, fotografiándolo y pintándolo. Sus lugares son majestuosos, las
distancias, la enormidad y la altura de las montañas, los glaciares, la policromía
del norte, los atardeceres y amaneceres, con la luz ideal justo antes de que el sol
salga, con ese color anaranjado y rojizo del cielo.”
Su obra es extraída directamente del paisaje y sus silencios, del escenario natural
de la tierra, de las construcciones del hombre que cortan el horizonte. “El lugar lo
respirás, lo ves, lo mirás. Una sensación, un momento de placer te invitan a pintar
y a transmitir ese sentimiento sobre la tela”.
Frasca siempre se dedicó a la pintura, es su pasión: “pinto desde que tengo uso de
razón, desde hace más de 40 años. En mi vida joven y de adulto, es lo único que me
interesa y lo único que hago”.
Increíblemente, jamás estudió arte y toda su técnica y metódica son producto de
su evolución y crecimiento a lo largo de los años. “Soy un fiel alumno de mí mismo,
todos los días aprendo de los cambios que operan en mí, de mi evolución”,
asegura. Y como quien sabe que ha llegado a este mundo con un don indiscutible,
aclara: “Para esto se nace, ser autodidacta es aprender permanente, siempre me
siento un alumno de primer año”.

His studio in the neighborhood of San Telmo shelters objects from all over
the world, memories of his trips, of those landscapes which were and are his
inspiration. Jorge Frasca paints real memories that shelter his thoughts forever.
This Argentine painter has already made 2890 paintings. He has carried out series
of paintings related to the north of Africa, Morocco, Mali and about the white towns
of the south of Spain and the north of Italy. From Argentina, his paintings go from
the wet Pampa, the countryside and the plain to the most beautiful landscapes of
the south, however he points out: “I prefer other less pretty areas, the south itself
is absolutely beautiful”.
For him, Argentina is an endless source of inspiration: “I spend my life travelling
around the country, taking pictures of it and painting it. Its places are majestic, the
distances, the immensity and the mountains height, the glaciers, the polychromy
of the north, the dusks and dawns, with the ideal light just before the sun sets, with
that orange and reddish sky”.
His work is directly extracted from the landscape and its silences, from the natural
scenario of the land, from the man´s constructions that cut the horizon. “You
breathe the place, you see it, you watch it. A sensation, a moment of pleasure invite
you to paint and to transfer that feeling onto the canvas”.
Frasca has always devoted himself to painting, it is his passion: “I have been
painting since I can remember, for more than 40 years. As a young man and as an
adult, it has been and it is the only thing I care about, and the only thing I do”.
Incredible as it may seem, he has never studied art and his entire technique and
method are the result of his evolution and growth throughout these years. “I am
the loyal pupil of myself, I learn from my own changes every single day, from my
evolution”, he assures. And like the one who knows that has arrived in this world
with an undeniable gift, he explains: “One is born for this, being self-taught means
learning constantly, I always feel myself a first-year student”

La comida en Nueva York es como su gente: diversa
y cosmopolita. Caminar por las calles de
esta gran ciudad es tentarse a cada paso. Los
sentidos se agudizan, se hacen permeables, receptivos.
Si tienen la suerte de viajar a la bella Manhattan,
#foodlovers exijan al máximo sus paladares y
pónganme a prueba con las siguientes recomendaciones:
Comencemos por el sofisticado Chelsea Market,
al sudoeste de la isla. Reúne en un sólo espacio
un sinfín de opciones culinarias: Li-Lac Chocolates,
con sus diseños de objetos cotidianos en
un exquisito chocolate y realizados con un talento
único, además de mis preferidos bombones de
mazapán, que convierten al lugar en una parada
obligada siempre.
Fishguy NYC, también en Chelsea Market, elabora
a la vista platos con pescados y mariscos frescos.
Aquí se come con la mano: guantes descartables
para cuidar la higiene y ya estamos listos
para disfrutar de estas delicias. Langosta, sushi,
ostras y langostinos servidos en barras de mármol
impolutas y de altura justa para regalarse un
banquete celestial.
En la zona del Midtown o centro de la ciudad se
ubica I’ts Sugar Candy Store, un espacio único en
donde se pueden encontrar todo tipo de golosinas
y dulces. ¿Quién puede resistir tanta tentación?
De una originalidad suprema en sus productos,
entrar allí es volver a la infancia. No duden en
llevar algún obsequio de esta tienda, los precios
son variados y hay para todos los gustos: paletas
de formas y colores inimaginables, caramelos en
sus combinaciones más ricas y empalagosas.
Sobre la Av. 8 y la calle 58 pero debajo de la superficie,
más precisamente en un paseo en la
estación de subte, está Chick´nCone y su clásico
menú de bocados de pollo marinados con
tres tipos de salsas a elección, envueltos en una
masa crocante parecida a la de un cucurucho, lo
que hace de este plato de sabor intenso algo muy
novedoso.
No puedo dejar de nombrar el China Town, barrio
cosmopolita si los hay. Si bien se ve perfectamente
arraigada la cultura asiática con sus arroces,
patos laqueados y dumplings por doquier, sólo
hay que hacer unos metros para viajar directo
hasta Little Italy: una pizza y, de postre, cannolis
rellenos de pastelera o pistacho que son ¡un verdadero
piacere!
En cada esquina de nueva York, los vistosos foodtruck
o carritos de halal food (comida de Medio
Oriente), como falafhel, shawarma y keppe abren
el apetito del caminante con su aroma irresistible.
Basta con elegir la opción deseada y, servilleta en
mano y sin detener el paso, seguir el recorrido
hasta la próxima parada.
Las ferias agroecológicas de frutas y verduras
apostadas en las plazas, son una pintoresca
postal y una opción saludable para visitantes y
locales.
Por último, pero no menos importante, elijan una
rooftop interesante (sugiero la del piso 18 del hotel
Freehand, ubicado en la Av. Lexington) para
acompañar esa inolvidable vista aérea con algún
trago de autor y brindar por un retorno próximo,
como lo hago yo cada vez que tengo esa posibilidad.

In Midtown or city center, it is I’ts Sugar Candy
Store, a unique place where you can find any kind
of sweets. Who can resist so much temptation?
The products are absolutely original; going in
there is coming back to childhood. Do not hesitate
to take a gift from this store, the prices are varied
and there are things for all tastes: lollipops of
unthinkable shapes and colors, candies in their
most delicious and overly sweet combinations.
On the 8 Avenue and 58 Street but below
ground, more precisely on the subway station, it
is Chick´nCone and its classic menu of breaded
chicken with three kinds of sauce, served in a
waffle cone, which makes this dish of intense
flavor something very innovative.
I cannot omit China Town, a cosmopolitan
neighborhood par excellence. Although the Asian
culture is perfectly settled down with the rices,
peking ducks and dumplings everywhere, you just
have to travel some meters to go directly up to
Little Italy: a pizza and, for dessert, cannelloni
filled with pastry cream or pistachio that are a
real piacere!
On every corner of New York, the attractive
foodtrucks or halal food trolleys (Middle East´s
food), such as falafhel, shawarma y keppe open
the walker´s appetite with its irresistible aroma.
It is enough with choosing the wished option,
napkin in hand and without stopping, keep on
touring up to the next stop.
The food and vegetable agroecological fairs
located in the squares, are a picturesque postcard
and a healthy option for both visitors and local
people.
And last but not least important, choose an
interesting rooftop (I suggest the one on the
18th floor, from the Freehand hotel, located on
Lexington Ave.) to accompany the unforgettable
aerial view with some kind of signature drink and
toast to a quick return, as I do every time I have
