Introduction
Mi Conexión al Mundo en Otra Lengua II is a textbook that contains the basis to empower
students into the four skills of a language: speaking, writing, listening, and reading. The
book starts with a diagnostic question for directing the teachers and the students to the
main grammar, exercises, and themes seen in every chapter or stage.

An infinitive verb is a verb combined with the word “to”. These infinitive verbs are used to
express the purpose of something or someone’s opinion about something. Most often, an
infinitive acts as a noun in the sentence.

A gerund is a noun made from a verb in its base form by adding “-ing”. For example, the verb
“fly” is changed to “flying”.

LIKE / ENJOY
We use like + -ing to express enjoyment. We can use either like or enjoy with –ing.
Examples:
I like visiting my grandma.
I enjoy traveling.
I don’t like eating my sister’s food.
I don’t enjoy listening to Britney Spears .
*When verbs end in consonant-vowel-consonant, you usually double the final consonant and add – ing.
Search for exceptions with verbs ending in “y and x”.

We use the second conditional when we are thinking about a future that is not likely to happen
and imaginary situations. It uses the simple past after if, then would and a verb in its base form.
