This series shows the “Plastic People”
project with a real live model.
The “Plastic People” project looks
for the humanization and dignification
of the mannequins found in the
shop windows, and it has become a
study on sociology and anthropology.
The idea of doing the same concept
with a model had been around in the
artist’s mind for a while and this is
the first time it has been done by him.
The photographs are inspired by the
vogueing scene which is represented
in the poses. During the previous
weeks’ planning leading up to the
shooting, Seigar was listening to
Grace Jones non-stop, her powerful
music was also a big influence on the
attitude he was looking for. There is a
special magnetism in the Cuban origin
Tenerife based model: Shira Tellechea
