Chères lectrices, chers lecteurs,
Andermatt Biocontrol a absorbé l’entreprise
suisse TOPCAT Sàrl et a intégré
ses produits de hautes valeurs dans
son assortiment. Ceux-ci permettent
une lutte efficace contre les rongeurs
Produktionskapazität ausgebaut
Martin Andermatt, AndermattService
Die Andermatt Gruppe ist seit der
Gründung von Andermatt Biocontrol
vor 23 Jahren stetig gewachsen. Vorausschauender
Landkauf ermöglichte
auch den kontinuierlichen Ausbau
der Betriebsgebäude. Im letzten
Quartal 2010 konnte bereits die siebte
Bauetappe bezogen werden.
Das Bild 1 zeigt die Gebäulichkeiten
der Andermatt Gruppe. Die erste
Etappe (unten ganz rechts) wurde
1993 realisiert. Danach folgten weitere
Etappen in den Jahren 1998,
2001, 2003, 2007, 2008 und 2010
(im Bild ganz links). Die letzte Etappe
ist mit einer Nutzfläche von 2000 m 2
mit Abstand die grösste. Sie ermöglicht
der Andermatt Biocontrol eine
Vergrösserung der Produktionskapazität
von Baculovirusprodukten auf
eine Höhe von 1 Million Hektar-Einheiten
pro Jahr. Bleibt nur zu hoffen,
dass die Registrierungsbehörden auf
der ganzen Welt die hängigen Registrierungsgesuche
zügig bearbeiten, so
Expanding production
capacity
Since its formation 23 years ago, the
Andermatt group has never stopped
growing. Anticipatory purchasing of
land has enabled continuous growth
of the premises. In the last quarter
of 2010 the companies were able to
move into the new seventh building.
Image 1 shows the premises of the
Andermatt group. The first stage (bottom
far right) was ready in 1993. It was
followed by the later building stages
in 1998, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008 and
2010 (far left). With 2000 m 2 , the last
stage is by far the biggest. It enables
Andermatt Biocontrol to enlarge its
production capacity for baculovirus
products to 1 million hectare units
per year. Let’s hope that the registration
authorities all over the world will
process our applications quickly, so
that this virus production capacity
can be maximized soon. Andermatt
BioVet have moved into the upper
floors, which are ideal for storage and
production of the varroa control products
THYMOVAR and OXUVAR.
Forschung und Entwicklungs-Bereich der
Franz Bollhalder, AndermattBiocontrol
Der Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung
(F&E-Bereich) hat bei der
Andermatt Biocontrol einen sehr
hohen Stellenwert. Ein achtköpfiges
Team erforscht Produkt- und Produktionsverbesserungen
und entwickelt
neue Produkte.
Im Jahr 1997 wurde der Forschung-
und Entwicklungs-Bereich (F&E-Bereich)
der Andermatt Biocontrol mit
einem 50% Stellenpensum formal
ins Leben gerufen. Heute, 13 Jahre
später, beschäftigt dieser Bereich 8
Mitarbeiter mit einem breiten Ausbildungshintergrund
(Siehe Bild 1). Die
Produktionsleiterin verstärkt die F&E
mit einem Teilpensum.
Die Investitionen der Andermatt
Biocontrol in die Forschung und Entwicklung
werden mit dem F&E-Team
effizient und effektiv umgesetzt. Nur
dies ermöglicht es im Hochlohnland
Schweiz, konkurrenzfähige Produkte
für den Weltmarkt zu produzieren.
Zum Beispiel konnte die Andermatt
Biocontrol als erstes Unternehmen
mit MADEX ® Plus ein Produkt gegen
CpGV-resistente Apfelwickler
entwickeln.
Pro Jahr werden rund 50 Projekte bearbeitet.
Ungefähr 60% der Arbeitskapazität
wird für die Entwicklung
von neuen Produkten, 30% für die
Optimierung und Rationalisierung
der bestehenden Produktionen und
10% für die Produktionsunterstützung
aufgewendet.
Produktentwicklungen können nur
dank der publizierten Forschungsarbeit
von Wissenschaftlerinnen und
Wissenschaftlern auf der ganzen Welt
realisiert werden. Auch die direkte Zusammenarbeit
mit nationalen und ausländischen
Forschungsanstalten und
Instituten ist ein wichtiger Erfolgsfaktor
bei vielen Projekten. In der Vergan-
genheit konnten bereits im Rahmen
von sieben KTI 1 Projekten und zwei
EU-Projekten wegweisende Entwicklungen
gemacht und Knowhow aufgebaut
werden. Je ein Projekt wurde
von den Grossverteilern Coop und
Migros mitfinanziert. Zurzeit laufen
bei der Andermatt Biocontrol drei
KTI-Projekte.
An dieser Stelle danken wir allen Forscherinnen
und Forschern, die direkt
oder indirekt zur Entwicklung von
unseren biologischen Pflanzenschutz-
Produkten beigetragen haben. Sie sind
ein erstes, wichtiges Glied in der Entwicklung
von Pflanzenschutzmitteln,
welche die Umwelt schonen und eine
rückstandsfreie Nahrungsmittelproduktion
ermöglichen.
Le secteur Recherche
et Développement
chez Andermatt
Biocontrol
Le secteur Recherche et Développement
(R&D) a une grande importance
chez Andermatt Biocontrol.
Un team de 8 personnes développe
de nouveaux produits et des améliorations
pour les processus de production.
L’année 1997 vit la création formelle
du secteur R&D chez Andermatt
Biocontrol avec un poste de travail
partiel à 50%. Aujourd’hui, 13 ans
department
The research and development department
is extremely important to
Andermatt Biocontrol. A team of 8
people work on improving products
and production, as well as developing
new products.
In 1997, the research and development
(R&D) department was formally
launched with a work quota of 50%.
Today, 13 years later, the department
has 8 full-time employees with very
broad educational backgrounds (Image
part-time support to the team.
Investments by Andermatt Biocontrol
in R&D are implemented efficiently
compete on the global market.
Andermatt Biocontrol was, for example,
the first company to develop
a product against CpGV resistant codling
moths ( MADEX ® Plus).
The team works on around 50 projects
a year. Approximately 60% of their
work capacity is dedicated to developing
new products, 30% is used for
optimisation and rationalisation of
existing products and 10% to support
production.
Product development can only be
by scientists from all over the world.
Many projects can only be successful
with the cooperation of national and
international research institutions.
Through 7 CTI 1 projects and 2 EU
Integration von Nützlingen und Pflanzenschutzmitteln
Samuel Stüssi, AndermattBiocontrol
Einige Wirkstoffgruppen können einen
Nützlingseinsatz über Monate
hinaus beeinträchtigen. Andere Produkte
sind abhängig vom Einsatzzeitpunkt,
der Applikationstechnik oder
der Applikationshäufigkeit verträglich
mit gewissen Nützlingen und
können daher als unterstützende Behandlungen
in eine Pflanzenschutzstrategie
eingebaut werden.
Nebenwirkungslisten
Bereits seit Jahren werden die Daten
aus Versuchen der Firmen oder von
unabhängigen Forschungsstellen im
Rahmen der IOBC (Internationale
Organisation für Biologischen und
Integrierten Pflanzenschutz) zusammengetragen.
In Form umfangreicher
Tabellen sind diese über das Internet
(z.B. unter www.biobest.be) abrufbar.
Vielfach handelt es sich dabei um Labordaten,
welche nicht in jedem Fall
mit den gemachten Erfahrungen im
Feld vergleichbar sind.
Generell sind die Nebenwirkungen
auf Nützlinge mit der Wirkung auf
die Schädlinge vergleichbar. Je breiter
und andauernder ein Produkt wirkt,
desto stärker sind auch die Nebenwirkungen.
Durch selektive Behandlung
von Befallsherden oder von Teilen der
Pflanzen können jedoch Nischen geschaffen
werden, wo die Nützlinge
überleben können. Dieser Umstand
kann, wie wir weiter unten sehen, gezielt
genutzt werden.
Beispiel Neonikotinoide
Die Wirkstoffgruppe der Neonikotinoide
versammelt mehrere Aktivsubstanzen,
welche breite Anwendung als
Spritzmittel, Giessmittel oder Saatgutbeize
finden. Neonikotinoide (z.B.
Confidor, Actara, Allanto, Gazelle)
gehören zu den umsatzstärksten Insektiziden,
welche momentan auf dem
Pflanzenschutzmittelmarkt gehandelt
werden. Das problematische an diesen
Produkten ist die sehr lange Persistenz
(Nachwirkung / Dauerwirkung).
Einmalig behandelte Jungpflanzen
oder Stecklinge werden teilweise über
Wochen von Nützlingen gemieden.
Bei verholzenden Pflanzen kann die-
ser Effekt sogar Monate anhalten. Aus
Grafik 1 ist ersichtlich, dass Weisse
Fliegen auf einmal mit Confidor behandelten
Jungpflanzen, während 15
bzw. 19 Wochen nicht mehr von Encarsia
parasitiert werden. Erschwerend
kommt dazu, dass der Gärtner häufig
gar nicht weiss, wie die zugekauften
Jungpflanzen vorbehandelt wurden.
Als Resultat setzt er Nützlinge ein,
welche wegen den Pflanzenschutzmittelrückständen
gar nicht wirksam
sein können.
Einbindung von kompatiblen Mitteln
in die Pflanzenschutzstrategie
Neben den absolut unverträglichen
Produkten (z.B Pyrethroide) gibt es
eine Reihe von Wirkstoffen, welche
mehr oder weniger gut in die Pflanzenschutzstrategie
eingebunden werden
können. Im besten Fall sind auch
bei mehrmaligem Einsatz gar keine
Nebenwirkungen zu erwarten (z.B.
Bacillusthuringiensis ➜ DELFIN).
Vorsicht ist jedoch geboten, wenn einige
als «nützlingsschonend» geltende
Produkte mehrere Male in Folge appliziert
werden. So hat zum Beispiel
Azadirachtin (NEEMAZAL-T/S), im
Frühjahr drei Mal angewendet auf
jedoch nur die Köpfe der Tomaten behandelt,
entwickeln sich die Nützlinge
den Effekt der Applikationstechnik
auszunutzen ist die Anwendung von
Pflanzenschutzmitteln über das Bewässerungssystem.
Wird zum Bespiel
Spinosad (SPINTOR) anstelle einer
werden Macrolophus-Raubwanzen
praktisch nicht geschädigt. In Einzelfällen
exemple, lorsque l’azadirachtine
(NEEMAZAL-T/S) est appliquée trois
fois de suite au printemps sur une
culture de tomates, elle a une influence
négative sur le développe-
ment des populations de punaises
Macrolophus. Par contre, si l’on ne
traite que les têtes (tiers supérieur),
les populations de punaises se développent
beaucoup mieux.
auxiliaires.
Bekämpfungsstrategien gegen Schädlinge
im Obstbau
Bertrand Gentizon und Daniel Zingg, AndermattBiocontrol
Die Beobachtungen in den letzten
beiden Jahren haben aufgezeigt, dass
sich die Schädlingspopulationen sehr
dynamisch entwicklen können. Der
Bekämpfung sollte demnach auch
bei vermeintlich günstigen Ausgangssituationen
genügend Beachtung geschenkt
werden. Dem Obstbau steht
zur Bekämpfung der vorkommenden
Schädlinge ein nahezu vollständiges
Sortiment an biologischen Insektiziden
und Akariziden zur Verfügung.
Darunter sind einige, welche auch
in der Integrierten Produktion breite
Anwendung finden.
Wickler und andere Schmetterlingsraupen
Die häufigsten Schädlinge im Obstbau
gehören zur Ordnung der Lepidopteren
(Schmetterlingsraupen).
Eine Vielzahl von ihnen kann mit der
Verwirrungstechnik ( ISOMATE und
ISONET) bekämpft werden (Tabelle 1).
In der Schweiz werden die
ISOMATE-Dispenser zur Verwirrungstechnik
mit Erfolg seit gut 15 Jahren
auf gegen 50% der Kernobstfläche
eingesetzt. Der Erfolg dieser Methode
ist aber von einigen Grundvoraussetzungen
abhängig:
• Ausgangsbefall aus dem Vorjahr 1%
oder tiefer
• Homogene Fläche grösser als 1 ha,
ideal grösser als 5 ha
• Keine störenden Elemente wie z.B.
Hochstammkernobstbäume in unmittelbarer
Nähe der Fläche
Es ist sehr wichtig, dass jährlich die
Befallsituation in den verwirrten Anlagen
genau erhoben wird, um die
Bekämpfungsstrategie für das nächste
Jahr festlegen zu können. Die Erfahrung
hat gezeigt, dass die Verwirrungstechnik
mit zusätzlichen Massnahmen
unterstützt werden muss, wenn die
oben genannten Voraussetzungen
nicht erfüllt sind oder wenn für den
Schädling sehr günstige klimatische
Bedingungen vorliegen, welche einen
Populationsaufbau ermöglichen.
Apfelwicklersituation 2010
Beim Apfelwickler (Cydiapomonella)ist
in diesem Jahr ein starker Anstieg
des Befalls festgestellt worden, was
auf die sehr günstigen Witterungsbedingungen
im Sommer zurückzuführen
ist. In der Ostschweiz liegt
der Befall auf praktisch allen Betrieben
bei 1% oder höher. In Anlagen,
wo die Voraussetzungen für die Verwirrungstechnik
nicht optimal sind
(angrenzende Hochstammbäume,
kleine Fläche, bereits etwas höherer
Ausgangsbefall) hat man auch Befall
zwischen 6 und 10% feststellen
müssen. In der Westschweiz gerade
in der Waadt hat man bereits letztes
Jahr einen Befallsanstieg beobachten
können. Entsprechend wurden dort
bereits in diesem Jahr nebst der Verwirrungstechnik
zusätzliche Insektizidbehandlungen
durchgeführt, was
in diesem Gebiet zu einem weniger
starken Anstieg führte.
Der Apfelwickler hat ein enormes
Vermehrungspotential
Der Apfelwickler hat damit wieder
Cydiapomonella
ISOMATE C TT •
einmal aufgezeigt, wie unberechenbar
er sein kann, respektive dass der Wicklerbekämpfung
auch nach ruhigen
Jahren weiter grösste Aufmerksamkeit
geschenkt werden muss.
Der Apfelwickler hat ein sehr grosses
Vermehrungspotenzial, was mit nachfolgendem
Rechenbeispiel veranschaulicht
werden soll: Wir gehen von
einem extrem geringen Vorjahresbefall
von z.B. 0,1% Prozent aus, was auf
300 000 Äpfel pro Hektare 300 Apfelwicklerlarven
entspricht, welche in die
Überwinterung gehen. Sind davon die
Hälfte Weibchen und die Mortalität im
Winter minimal, dann schlüpfen gegen
150 weibliche Falter im Frühling.
Von einem Weibchen können 200
Eier abgelegt werden, welche bei günstigen
Bedingungen zu einem grossen
Teil schlüpfen können. Somit können
rund 30 000 Nachkommen entstehen,
was bei erneut 300 000 Äpfeln pro ha
einem Befall von 10% entspricht! Der
Befall wäre also in unserem Rechenbeispiel
von einem Jahr auf das andere
um Faktor 100 angestiegen. Um
wieder auf einen Befall von 0,1% zu
gelangen, hätte man also 99% Wirkungsgrad
durch die Gesamtheit der
eingesetzten Regulierungsmassnahmen
benötigt. Solch hohe Wirkungsgrade
sind nur durch die Kombination
verschiedener Bekämpfungsmittel in
geschickt angelegten Bekämpfungsstrategien
möglich (vgl. Grafik 1).
Wie soll der Apfelwickler im 2011
bekämpft werden?
Eine wichtige Bemerkung gleich
vorweg: Der beobachtete Befallsanstieg
liegt nicht daran, dass die Verwirrungstechnik
oder die Insektizide
nicht gewirkt haben, sondern dass die
Bedingungen für den Schädling in diesem
Jahr günstiger waren als man sich
im Vorjahr gewohnt war. Somit wäre
eine stärkere Bekämpfung des Apfelwicklers
notwendig gewesen. Dem
muss nun Rechnung getragen werden
im Folgejahr.
Mit der vorliegenden Ausgangssituation
empfiehlt es sich 2011 mit der
Verwirrungstechnik weiter zu fahren,
aber diese unbedingt mit weiteren
Massnahmen zu unterstützen. Auf
Bio betrieben unbedingt ein intensives
Programm mit MADEX Plus
durchführen (3 – 6 Applikationen pro
Generation je nach Befallsniveau mit
50 ml/ha). Auch auf IP-Betrieben lohnt
sich ein mehrmaliger Einsatz von
MADEX Plus zusätzlich zu den Behandlungen
mit chemischen Insektiziden.
MADEX Plus mit der sehr guten
Populationswirkung sollte auf jeden
Fall am Anfang der ersten Generation
eingesetzt werden. Siehe dazu auch
untenstehende Grafik.
Unterschiedliche Entwicklung der
restlichen Wicklerarten
In den letzten Jahren konnte auch
beim Schalenwickler ein relativ
starker Populationszuwachs beobachtet
werden. In diesem Jahr war
der Schaden durch den Schalenwickler
( Adoxophyes orana) jedoch weit
weniger problematisch als jener des
Apfelwicklers. Dagegen haben sich
der Kleine Fruchtwickler (Grapholitalobarzewskii)
und auch der Bodenseewickler
(Pammenerhediella) lokal
stärker entwickeln können.
Der Schalenwickler wurde in verschiedenen
Regionen der Westschweiz mit
konsequenten CAPEX-Behandlungsstrategien
erfolgreich bekämpft, so
dass das hohe Befallsniveau aus dem
Jahr 2009 wieder auf normale Werte
gesenkt werden konnte.
Der Kleine Fruchtwickler und der
Bodenseewickler werden im Integrierten
Anbau relativ einfach mit den
Bekämpfungsmassnahmen gegen die
anderen Schädlinge mitbekämpft. Der
Kleine Fruchtwickler kann auch im
Bio anbau mit Verwirrungstechnik und
allenfalls Spinosad gut bekämpft werden.
Für die Bekämpfung des Bodenseewicklers
steht im Bioanbau kein
zugelassenes Präparat zur Verfügung.
ag-journal 2011
Blattläuse
Blattläuse sind ein stetiges Problem im
Obstbau. Die Junganlagen sind besonders
anfällig und müssen intensiv geschützt
werden.
Mit NEEMAZAL-T/S steht in der biologischen
Bekämpfung der Mehligen
Apfelblattlaus (Dysaphisplantaginea)
ein sehr gutes Präparat zur Verfügung,
wobei häufig Diskussionen über die
Applikationsstrategie geführt wurden.
Es hat sich in den vergangenen Jahren
gezeigt, dass eine Applikation im
Ballonstadium generell immer noch
zu den besten Resultaten führt. Eine
zweite Behandlung unmittelbar nach
der Blüte kann allenfalls angezeigt
sein, wenn die Entwicklung der Blattläuse
schleppend verlief wegen z.B.
kühler Witterung und wenn sehr spät
noch Mehlige Apfelblattläuse schlüpfen,
wie dies in diesem Jahr teilweise
vorgekommen ist. Bei Junganlagen
wird häufig zum Vornherein eine Splitvariante
mit Applikationen im Ballonstadium
und nach der Blüte empfohlen,
weil damit der bei Junganlagen
eher schwachen Blattentwicklung am
Anfang der Saison Rechnung getragen
werden kann. Nebst der Mehligen
Apfelblattlaus hat NEEMAZAL-T/S
auch eine grosse Bedeutung bei der
Bekämpfung der Schwarzen Kirschenblattlaus
(Myzuscerasi). Die Wirkung
von Neem ist generell relativ langsam,
dafür aber auch relativ lang anhaltend,
weil der Wirkstoff Azadirachtin ins
Blatt aufgenommen wird.
Bei den übrigen Blattlausarten kommen
Öle bei der Winterspritzung
respektive NATURAL (Kaliseife)
oder PYRETHRUM häufig sogar als
und das Gemisch mit sehr viel Wasser
(1000 Liter und mehr) ausgebracht
wird, um eine gute Benetzung dieser
Kontaktinsektizide sicherzustellen.
Spinnmilben
Die Praxis und Versuche der Forschungsanstalten
haben gezeigt,
dass die Förderung und Schonung
der Raubmilben (Typhlodromuspyri,
Amblyseiusandersoni) die beste Bekämpfung
gegen Spinnmilben darstellt.
Bei starkem Befallsdruck sollte
man die Spinnmilbenherde mit 2 – 3
Anwendungen mit NATURAL im
Abstand von 3 – 5 Tagen behandeln.
Dabei gilt der Grundsatz, dass eine
frühe Bekämpfung (nach der Blüte)
das Spinnmilbenproblem besser lösen
kann als eine späte. Um den
Ausgangsbefall zu reduzieren ist eine
Austriebsspritzung mit Öl bei Temperaturen
über 12 °C und viel Wasser
(2000 l/ha) ebenfalls eine gute
Bekämpfungsmöglichkeit, um das
Schadenspotential dieses Schädlings
einzugrenzen.
Weitere Schädlinge
Verschiedene weitere Schädlinge können
gelegentlich oder lokal grosse
Schäden verursachen. Dies ist zum Beispiel
der Fall bei der Apfelsägewespe
(Hoplocampatestudinea) oder beim
Apfelblütenstecher (Anthonomuspomorum).
Die Sägewespe kann biologisch
Stratégie de lutte
contre les parasites
en arboriculture
Les observations de ces deux dernières
années démontrent que les populations
de parasites peuvent se développer
de manière très dynamique.
Dans la lutte contre ceux-ci, même
lorsque les situations initiales sont
favorables, il faut leur apporter toute
l’attention requise. L’arboriculture
dispose d’un assortiment complet
d’insecticides et d’acaricides biologiques
dans la lutte antiparasitaire:
plusieurs trouvent une large application
en production intégrée.
Tordeuses et autres chenilles de
papillons
Les principaux parasites en arboriculture
appartiennent à l’ordre des lépidoptères
(chenilles). Une multitude
de celles-ci peuvent être combattues
avec la technique de la confusion
sexuelle avec les diffuseurs ISOMATE
et ISONET (tab. 1).
En Suisse, les diffuseurs ISOMATE sont
utilisés avec succès depuis une quinzaine
d’années sur 50% des surfaces
arboricoles. Toutefois, le succès de
cette méthode doit tenir compte de
plusieurs conditions préalables:
• un seuil d’attaque de maximum 1%
l’année antérieure
• des surfaces homogènes supérieures
à 1 ha, idéalement supérieures à
5 ha
• pas d’éléments perturbateurs
comme par exemple la présence de
hautes-tiges à pépin dans un proche
voisinage.
Il est très important de contrôler annuellement
le niveau d’attaque dans
les cultures en confusion afin de pouvoir
définir la stratégie de lutte pour
l’année suivante. L’expérience a démontré
que la lutte par confusion doit
être complétée par d’autres moyens
lorsque les conditions citées ci-dessus
ne sont pas remplies. Il en va de même
lorsque des conditions climatiques
très favorables permettent un développement
exponentiel des ravageurs.
Carpocapse en 2010
Cette année, le carpocapse (Cydiapomonella)
a connu une forte hausse
dans son développement. Ceci est dû
à des conditions estivales très favorables.
En Suisse orientale, sur presque
toutes les exploitations, le niveau d’attaque
s’élève à 1% ou plus. Dans les
cultures où les conditions initiales ne
sont pas optimales (hautes-tiges voisines,
petites surfaces, niveau d’attaques
antérieures important), on a
dû constater des niveaux d’attaques de
6 voir 10%. L’an passé, en Suisse romande,
d’insecticides. Ces mesures
ont engendré une moins forte hausse.
Le carpocapse possède un énorme
potentiel de développement
Le carpocapse a de nouveau démontré
comme il peut être déroutant. Plus
particulièrement, la lutte contre cette
tordeuse mérite une grande attention
même lors d’années calmes. Le car-
Bild 1: Apfelwicklerlarve
Photo 1: Larve de carpocapse
Image 1: Codling moth larva
pocapse possède un grand pouvoir de
multiplication. Ceci vous est démontré
avec l’exemple mathématique suivant:
prenons une attaque de 0,1% l’année
antérieure, avec une densité de
300 000 pommes à l’ha, il y aura
donc 300 larves qui s’apprêteront à
hiverner. Si la mortalité est minimale,
le printemps suivant il y aura 150 femelles
qui survivront. Chacune peut
pondre jusqu’à 200 œufs qui écloront
lors de bonnes conditions. Ainsi, il y
aura 30 000 descendants, ce qui correspond
à une attaque de 10% et à
un facteur de croissance de 100. Pour
retomber à 0,1%, il faudra, avec les
traitements d’accompagnement, avoir
graphique 1).
Développement d’autres lépidoptères
Une augmentation relativement forte
des populations de capua a aussi pu
être observée ces dernières années.
Les dégâts occasionnés par la capua
(Adoxophyesorana) cette année, malgré
les fortes augmentations constatées,
restent cependant bien moins
problématiques que ceux occasionnés
par le carpocapse en général. Il
est à noter une forte augmentation
des petites tordeuses (Grapholitalobarzewskii)
et du vers des jeunes fruits
(Pammenerhediella) localement.
Une série de traitements avec CAPEX,
selon une stratégie prédéfinie, a été
effectuée avec succès sur la capua
dans différentes régions de la Suisse
occidentale. Ainsi, il a été possible
de ramener les très hauts niveaux
d’attaques enregistrés en 2009 à des
niveaux acceptables.
Pest status and
strategic control in
pomiculture
Observations over the last two years
have demonstrated that pest populations
show very dynamic growth
development. Therefore, it is important
to pay attention to pest development
and control even when the
initial pest status seems alright. For
the control of pests in pomiculture,
there is an almost complete range of
organic insecticides and acaricides.
Many of these are also widely used in
IPM systems.
entwickelte Jean Malevez in den
neunziger Jahren die TOPCAT-Falle.
Den Vertrieb der TOPCAT-Produkte
wickelte Jean Malevez über die eigens
gegründete TOPCAT GmbH ab.
Die TOPCAT-Produkte sind seit dem
Jahr 2000 auf dem Markt. Die Falle hat
sich insbesondere auf dem Schweizer
Markt etabliert. Die Verkaufszahlen im
Ausland stiegen jährlich.
Später wurde die STANDBY-Lebendfangfalle
entwickelt, erprobt und patentiert.
Das System wurde von 2006
bis 2009 in einem Forschungsprojekt
der Uni Bern auf seine Funktionstüchtigkeit
erfolgreich getestet.
Jean Malevez wollte nach all den intensiven
Jahren beruflich kürzer treten.
TOPCAT – Die Mausefalle
Die TOPCAT-Mausefalle überzeugt
durch die einfache Anwendung sowie
den grossen Fangerfolg. TOPCAT ist
die Falle erster Wahl zur Bekämpfung
von Schermäusen (Arvicolaterrestris)
und Feldmäusen (Microtus arvalis).
Die Falle wird in einen belebten
Mäusegang gestellt. Sie fängt Mäuse
aus beiden Gangrichtungen. Diese
Schlagfalle mit sensiblem Auslösemechanismus
schnappt bereits ab einem
Druckpunkt von 8 g zu. Der Auslösemechanismus
ist rein mechanisch,
funktioniert ohne Köder oder Chemie.
Alle Einzelteile der TOPCAT-Falle sind
aus Chromstahl gefertigt. Jeder Bestandteil
der TOPCAT-Falle kann einzeln
nachbestellt werden.
Die Produktpalette umfasst nebst der
Falle noch weitere Produkte. Das Zubehör
(Suchstab, Lochschneider, Tragbügel,
Markierstab) ist funktionell, vereinfacht
das Mausen und erhöht die
Effektivität.
STANDBY – Der Mäusezaun mit
Lebendfangfallen
Das STANDBY-System unterbindet
die (Rück-)Einwanderung von Mäusen
in eine schützenswerte Parzelle/
Kultur. Das STANDBY-System ist ein
partizipatives System. Die natürlichen
Prädatoren werden bei der Mäusebekämpfung
gezielt eingebunden.
Das System besteht aus einem Mäusezaun
und Lebendfangfallen. Der Mäusezaun
ist rund 60 cm hoch und wird
20 bis 30 cm in den Boden eingelassen.
Eine unterirdische Eindringung
in die schützenswerte Parzelle/Kultur
wird damit unterbunden. Der Zaun
kann von den Mäusen nicht durchbissen
werden und rostet selbst nach Jahren
im Boden nicht. Auf einer Distanz
von rund 25 m werden dem Zaun entlang
die STANDBY-Lebendfangfallen
aufgestellt. Die Fallen können von beiden
Seiten über Klapptürchen von den
Mäusen betreten werden. Einmal in
der Falle, können die Mäuse die Falle
nicht mehr verlassen. Ein Klappdeckel
ermöglicht den Mäusejägern (Fuchs,
Katze, Dachs, Marder, Hermelin u.a.)
den Zugang zu den Fallen. Aufgrund
des STANDBY-Systems wird die Präsenz
der natürlichen Prädatoren von
Mäusen am Zaun entlang erhöht. Die
Fallen werden durch die Prädatoren
systematisch kontrolliert und entleert.
Verkauf von TOPCAT- und
STANDBY-Produkten
Die TOPCAT-Produkte können sowohl
über die Wiederverkäufer wie auch direkt
bei Andermatt Biocontrol bezogen
werden. Das Verkaufsnetz besteht
zurzeit aus rund 80 Wiederverkäufern
der Schweiz, Deutschland, Österreich,
Andermatt Biocontrol a absorbé,
au 1er janvier 2010, l’entreprise
TOPCAT Sàrl. Depuis, la production
et la distribution s’effectuent par
Andermatt Biocontrol sis à Grossdietwil.
Dans cette gamme y sont inclus
les pièges TOPCAT, leurs accessoires
Jean Malevez assurait la distribution
du produit TOPCAT par sa propre entreprise
TOPCAT Sàrl.
Les produits TOPCAT sont donc sur
le marché depuis le début des années
Celui-ci
rechercha un partenaire et un accord
de reprise a été signé entre TOPCAT
Sàrl et Andermatt Biocontrol. Ainsi
depuis le 1er janvier 2010 Andermatt
TOPCAT.
Andermatt Biocontrol remercie M.
Jean Malevez pour sa bonne collaboration
et pour le transfert intellectuel
des données adjacentes.
TOPCAT le piège à campagnols
Le piège TOPCAT convint par sa simplicité
d’utilisation et par ses nombreuses
captures. TOPCAT s’utilise
principalement dans la lutte contre les
campagnols terrestres (Arvicola terrestris)
et les campagnols des champs
(Microtusarvalis).
englobe d’autres accessoires (sonde
de recherche, tarière, porte pièges et
baguettes de marquage). Ceux-ci facilitent
le piègeage et son efficacité.
STANDBY – La barrière à campagnols
avec les pièges à captures vivantes.
Le système STANDBY interdit l’immigration
des campagnols d’une parcelle/culture
vers l’autre. Le système
est participatif. Les prédateurs naturels
des campagnols sont intégrés au
piègeage.
Ce système comprend un treillis anticampagnols
et des pièges à captures
vivantes. Le treillis mesure 60 cm de
large et il est enterré à env. 20 – 30 cm
dans le sol. Une pénétration par le sol
est proscrite. Le treillis résiste aux morsures
et se conserve sans rouille des
années durant dans le sol. En surface,
les pièges captures vivantes STANDBY
sont disposées env. tous les 25 m le
long du treillis. Les campagnols
peuvent pénétrer par les deux bouts
dans ces pièges obscurs grâce à deux
trappes. Une fois à l’intérieur ils ne
pourront plus s’enfuir. Un couvercle
amovible verticalement permet aux
prédateurs des campagnols (renards,
chats, blaireaux, fouines, hermines,
etc) de se servir en self-service. Grâce
au STANBY-système la présence des
prédateurs sera en augmentation le
long du barrage. Les pièges seront
contrôlés et vidés systématiquement
par les prédateurs.
STANDBY – Vole
control products
new to Andermatt
Biocontrol
On January 1st, 2010, Andermatt
Biocontrol took over the company
TOPCAT GmbH. Distribution and
production of TOPCAT products
is now carried out by Andermatt
Biocontrol in Grossdietwil. This includes
the TOPCAT traps and associated
tools, as well as the STANDBY
live traps.
Jean Malevez – Inventor of the
TOPCAT trap and founder of
TOPCAT GmbH
While he was looking for an alternative
to conventional vole control
methods, Jean Malevez developed the
TOPCAT trap in the 1990’s. Distribution
of the TOPCAT traps was done by
TOPCAT GmbH, which was founded
by Jean Malevez specifically for this.
The TOPCAT products have been on
the market since 2000. The trap is well
established especially on the Swiss
market. The sales abroad are continuing
to increase.
Later, the STANDBY live trap was
developed, tested and patented. The
system was successfully tested in a
research project at the University of
Berne from 2006 to 2009.
After all the years of intensive work
years, Jean Malevez decided to cut
back. In search of a suitable partner,
TOPCAT GmbH and Andermatt
Biocontrol came to an agreement.
Since January 1st 2010 Andermatt
Biocontrol produces and distributes
the products from TOPCAT GmbH.
Andermatt Biocontrol would like to
thank Jean Malevez for his outstanding
collaboration and excellent transfer of
know-how.
TOPCAT – The vole trap
The TOPCAT trap is easy to handle and
ensures an high rate of trapped voles.
TOPCAT is the trap of choice for control
of common vole or field mouse
(Microtus arvalis) and water vole
(Arvicolaterrestris). The trap is positioned
in an inhabited vole tunnel. The
voles are captured from both tunnel
directions. This snap trap has a very
sensitive release mechanism and will
snap shut at a pressure of just 8 g. The
release mechanism is purely mechanical
with no bait or chemicals. All parts
of the TOPCAT trap are made of stainless
steel. Every piece of the TOPCAT
trap can be reordered separately.
The product line contains more products
than just the trap. The accessories
(searching rod, ground cutter, bracket,
post) are functional, simplify vole trapping
and increasing the efficacy of
traps.
STANDBY – The vole fence
The STANDBY system stops (re-)immigration
of voles into a protected area.
The STANDBY system is a participatory
system. Natural predators are systematically
involved in vole control.
The system consists of a fence and a
live trap. The fence is around 60 cm
high and is buried 20 – 30 cm into the
ground. This prevents voles from passing
into a protected area underground.
The fence cannot be bitten through by
the voles and will not rust even after
years in the ground. The STANDBY-
live traps are set up along a fence at a
distance of 25 m from each other. The
traps have hatches on both sides by
which voles can enter. Once trapped,
there is no chance of escape. Natural
predators such as foxes, cats, badgers
and ermines will open the box by lifting
the flip top and then steal the bait.
Predators benefit from the STANDBY
system so will regularly scan the area
along the fence. Traps are systematically
checked and emptied.
Distribution of TOPCAT and
STANDBY products
The TOPCAT products can be purchased
from distributors or directly
from Andermatt Biocontrol. The distribution
network at present consists
of about 80 suppliers in Switzerland,
Germany, Austria, France, Belgium
and Slovenia. Andermatt Biocontrol
is currently working on extending the
sales net.
The STANDBY system is exclusively
distributed by Andermatt Biocontrol.
Apfelwicklervirus: Die nächste Generation
Resistenz-brechender Isolate steht bereit
Daniel Zingg und Iris Kraaz, AndermattBiocontrol
Nach der Überwindung der Apfelwicklerresistenz
gegenüber von Granuloseviren
dank neuen Virusisolaten
( MADEX Plus, MADEX 100, MADEX
Max) hat die Andermatt Biocontrol
mit ABC-V15 bereits die nächste
Generation resistenzbrechender Virusisolate
gegen den Apfelwickler
marktreif entwickelt. ABC-V15 soll
im Sinne des von der Andermatt
Biocontrol vorgeschlagenen Virulenzmanagements
in den nächsten
4 – 6 Jahren die bisher verwendeten
Isolate in Ländern ablösen, welche
ursprünglich von der Resistenz betroffen
waren.
Resistenzprobleme aktuell gelöst
dank MADEX Plus und Co
Mit MADEX Plus, MADEX 100 und
MADEX Max sind verschiedene resistenzbrechende
Virusisolate als
Pflanzenschutzmittel zugelassen und
auf dem Markt erhältlich (Schweiz,
Deutschland, Italien, Holland). Dies
entschärfte die Resistenzsituation in
den betreffenden Ländern entscheidend.
Es ist nicht auszuschliessen, dass in
Zukunft wieder eine neue Resistenzsituation
auftreten könnte. Dies ist bei
intensivem Viruseinsatz, wie dies normalerweise
in Bioobstanlagen der Fall
ist, theoretisch denkbar. Deshalb hat
sich die Andermatt Biocontrol dazu
verpflichtet, laufend neue Virusisolate
auf schwer bekämpfbaren Apfelwicklerpopulationen
weiter zu entwickeln
(siehe AG-Journal Ausgabe 2010,
S. 11 – 14). Mit dem neuesten Produkt
ABC-V15 ist es gelungen, die bisher
effizienteste Generation des Apfelwicklervirus
hervorzubringen. Sowohl
Zulassungsstrategie
Selbstverständlich müssen alle Virusisolate
zur Zulassung gebracht
werden, bevor sie vom Produzenten
angewendet werden dürfen. Mit dem
vereinfachten Zulassungsverfahren für
neue Virusisolate ist dazu zumindest
eine Beschleunigung auf EU-Ebene
garantiert. Für die Annex I Aufnahme
von ABC-V15 laufen bereits entsprechende
Vorbereitungen.
Fortführung der Antiresistenzstrategie
Das Apfelwickergranulosevirus sollte
weiterhin ein wesentlicher Bestandteil
einer guten Bekämpfungsstrategie
bleiben, um einerseits die effiziente,
rückstandsfreie und nützlingsschonende
Wirkung von CpGV-Produkten
zu nutzen und andererseits einer Resistenzentwicklung
gegenüber chemischen
Insektiziden vorzubeugen.
Für Länder mit CpGV-M Resistenz
sind mit MADEX Plus, MADEX 100
oder MADEX Max bereits neue Virusisolate
zugelassen oder werden in
absehbarer Zeit zur Zulassung kommen.
Mit ABC-V15 steht ein neues
hochwirksames Apfelwicklervirus für
die Zukunft bereit. Es ist unser Ziel,
ABC-V15 in Ländern, wo bisher Resistenzen
aufgetreten waren, in den
nächsten 4 – 6 Jahren zur Zulassung zu
bringen und damit die Strategie eines
konsequenten Virulenzmanagements
fortzuführen.
Dank
Unser Dank geht an alle unsere Partner,
welche Versuche mit den neuen
Virusisolaten durchgeführt haben. Insbesondere
danken wir Intrachem Bio
Italia, aber auch den Produzenten,
welche ihre Obstanlagen für die zahlreichen
Versuche zur Verfügung gestellt
haben.
Virus de la granulo-
se contre le carpo-
capse des pommes:
La prochaine génération
d’isolats brisant
bio. C’est pourquoi Andermatt
Biocontrol s’est fixé comme but de
poursuivre la recherche pour développer
de nouveaux virus contre les
populations de carpocapse résistantes
(voir Journal AG, édition 2010.
p. 11– 14). Avec le produit ABC-V15
nous tenons le virus le plus efficace
de sa gamme à ce jour. Les résultats
en laboratoire sur des populations
de carpocapse hautement résistantes
(graphique 1), en plein champs avec
ag-journal 2011
l’annexe I.
chimiques. Dans les pays avec une
résistance éprouvée, le MADEX Plus,
MADEX 100 ou MADEX Max, issus
de nouveaux isolats, sont homologués
ou en phase de l’être. L’ABC-V15, un
virus hautement virulent sur les carpocapses
est déjà prêt pour le futur.
Nous nous sommes fixés comme but
d’homologuer l’ABC-V15 dans les 4 à
6 ans pour les pays où les premières
résistances sont apparues afin de rester
en adéquation avec les stratégies de
management de virulence que nous
proposons.
After having overcome codling
moth resistance towards granulovirus
thanks to new isolates ( MADEX
Andermatt Biocontrol has already
developed the next generation of
resistance breaking virus isolates,
which are now ready for marketing.
Within the next 4 – 6 years, ABC-V15
will replace the current isolates in
various countries and will be used as
part of the virus management practice
recommended by Andermatt
Image 2: Codling moth (Cydia pomonella)
ing virus isolates are on the market for
plant protection (Switzerland, Germany,
Italy, Netherlands). These products
decisively ease the resistance situation
in affected countries. This brings
relief especially to organic farms, as
they again have access to highly effective
solutions to fight codling moth
with new granulose virus isolates.
Providing for the future with ABC-V15
New resistance incidents cannot
be ruled out in the future. In theory,
new resistance is probable wherever
virus isolates are used intensely,
which is the case in many organic orchards.
This is the reason Andermatt
Biocontrol is continuously developing
new virus isolates for codling moth
populations that are difficult to treat
(see AG-Journal 2010, p. 11 – 14). The
newest product, ABC-V15, has been
proved to be the most efficient generation
of the codling moth virus. Laboratory
tests on highly resistant codling
moth populations (graph 1) as well as
field trials on CpGV-M sensitive (graph
2) and resistant populations (graph 3),
show excellent responses to the new
isolate.
Registration strategy
Naturally, all virus isolates must be
registered before they can be bought
by growers. Thanks to the simplified
registration process for new virus isolates,
fast-track processing is guaranteed
at least at the EU-level. For the
Annex I inclusion of ABC-V15, submission
arrangements are already in
progress.
Continuation of the anti-resistance
strategy
The codling moth granulovirus will
maintain an important role in high
quality pest management strategy: on
the one hand, to use efficient, chemical
residue free CpGV products that
are also gentle to beneficials and on
the other, to prevent development of
resistance caused by chemical pesticides.
For countries showing CpGV-
M resistance, new virus isolates
have been registered ( MADEX Plus,
MADEX 100 or MADEX Max) or will
be authorized soon. ABC-V15 a new,
Fruchtbefall / Attaque sur fruit / Fruit damage [%]
10
highly efficient virus isolate will also
be available in the future. In order to
continue an effective virulence management
strategy, it is our goal to register
ABC-V15 within the next 4 – 6
years, especially in countries where
there is resistance to former products.
Weltweit neue Zulassungen
für unsere Virenprodukte
Philip Kessler, AndermattBiocontrol
Die Andermatt Biocontrol ist weltweit
führend in der Entwicklung und
Vermarktung von Baculoviren Produkten.
Im vergangen Jahr konnten
wir eine Reihe neuer Zulassungen für
unsere Virenprodukte vermelden.
MADEX neu in Tschechien, Ungarn,
Portugal und Schweden
Seit vergangenem Frühjahr steht den
tschechischen Obstproduzenten
MADEX für die biologische Bekämpfung
des Apfelwicklers zur Verfügung.
Unser Partner Biocont Laboratories
bekam die Zulassung für MADEX
(Wirkstoff: Cydia pomonella Granulosevirus).
Tschechien besitzt eine
Anbaufläche von 8000 ha Äpfel und
500 ha Birnen. Auch in Ungarn, das
mit knapp 40 000 ha eine noch grössere
Anbaufläche für Äpfel aufweist,
konnte die Zulassung für MADEX
(durch Biocont Hungary Ltd.) erwirkt
werden.
Portugal produziert zurzeit ca.
190 000 t Äpfel im Jahr. Seit 2010 ist
MADEX nun auch in Portugal registriert
und wird durch die Firma Biosani
Lda. vertrieben.
In den nördlichen Breitengraden wird
der Apfelwickler aufgrund der ansteigenden
durchschnittlichen Temperaturen
zu einem zunehmenden Problem.
MADEX wurde im vergangenen
Jahr in Schweden zugelassen und wird
durch Biobasiq Sverige AB vertrieben.
Südhalbkugel: MADEX in Australien
und Uruguay zugelassen
Nach jahrelangem Zulassungsprozess
konnte MADEX durch unseren
neuseeländischen Partner Key Industries
Ltd auch in Australien zugelassen
werden. Australiens Obstbaugebiete
konzentrieren sich vorwiegend
auf den Osten und den Südosten des
Landes, wobei neben Äpfel zu einem
sehr grossen Teil auch Birnen produziert
werden. Der Apfelwickler zählt
hier zu den wichtigsten Obstbauschädlingen,
so dass MADEX, als erstes
CpGV-Produkt in Australien, eine
echte und wirksame Alternative für
Bekämpfungsstrategien gegen diesen
Schädling ist.
ag-journal 2011
Uruguay weist eine Anbaufläche von
3000 ha Äpfel und 1000 ha Birnen
auf. Kurz vor der Saison 2010/11
konnte unser Distributor Agro Regional
s.r.l. MADEX in der «Schweiz Südamerikas»,
wie Uruguay auch genannt
wird, registrieren.
MADEX Plus in Holland, MADEX 100
in Italien
Aufgrund aufgetretener Resistenzfälle
von lokalen Apfelwicklerpopulationen
gegenüber CpGV-M (mexikanisches
Isolat), besteht Bedarf, den betroffenen
Produzenten neue resistenzbrechende
CpGV-Produkte zur Verfügung
zu stellen. Die Andermatt Biocontrol
konnte mit MADEX Plus schon früh
ein hochwirksames CpGV Produkt
mit einem neuentwickelten resistenzbrechenden
Isolat anbieten. In der vergangenen
Saison konnte MADEX Plus
nun in Holland (durch Koppert B.V.)
registriert werden. In Italien ist das
Produkt seit letztem Jahr unter dem
Namen « MADEX 100» zugelassen
(durch Intrachem Bio Italy S.p.A.).
MADEX 100 ist sowohl auf resistenten
als auch auf nicht-resistenten Populationen
ein hochwirksames Mittel zur
Apfelwicklerbekämpfung.
Erste Verkäufe für SPEXIT in Spanien
Spanien, und vorneweg die Region
um Almeria, ist ein wichtiger Gemüsegarten
für das restliche Europa. Die
Nachfrage an rückstandsarmem Gemüse
ist stark gestiegen, und der Verlust
von einer Vielzahl an Wirkstoffen
in der EU haben die Produzenten
in eine schwierige Lage gebracht,
wichtige Schädlinge wie Spodopteraexigua
erfolgreich bekämpfen zu können.
SPEXIT (Wirkstoff: Spodoptera
exigua Kernpolyedervirus) ist ein äusserst
wirksames biologisches Insektizid.
Aufgrund der Dringlichkeit, dem
Produzenten eine Auswahl an neuen
wirksamen, rückstandsfreien Bekämpfungsmittel
anzubieten, erteilten die
spanischen Behörden unserem Distributor
in Spanien Agrichem S.A. für
die vergangene Saison eine zeitlich
begrenzte Zulassung für SPEXIT auf
Peperoni (Gewächshausanwendung).
HELICOVEX erhält die provisorische
Zulassung in Italien
Helicoverpa armigera ist auf einer
Vielzahl von Gemüsekulturen, aber
auch auf Mais oder auf Baumwolle
ein ernsthafter Schädling. HELICOVEX
(Wirkstoff: Helicoverpa armigera
Kernpolyedervirus) wurde in den letzten
Jahren erfolgreich gegen diesen
Schädling getestet. In der EU wurde
2006 das Dossier für den Neu-Wirkstoff
eingereicht, welches bis heute
noch bei den Behörden in Bearbeitung
ist. Mittlerweile konnte aber unser
Partner in Italien, Intrachem Bio Italia
S.p.A., eine provisorische Zulassung
für HELICOVEX gegen Helicoverpaarmigera
auf Tomaten, Peperoni, Auberginen,
Gurken, Salat und Bohnen
erwirken.
Ägypten: LITTOVIR und HELICOVEX
Auch heute exportiert das Land
erhebliche Mengen an Baumwolle,
Weizen, Reis aber auch Tomaten
und Kartoffeln. Der Export in Märkte
wie die EU verlangt die entsprechenden
Produktionsnormen, und
somit benötigen die Produzenten für
diesen Bereich neue wirksame rückstandsfreie
Bekämpfungsmethoden.
Unser Partner Agrolink Co. erhielt
im vergangenen Jahr die Zulassung
für LITTOVIR (Wirkstoff: Spodoptera
littoralis Kernpolyedervirus) gegen
Spodopteralittoralis und HELICOVEX
gegen Helicoverpa armigera. Somit
haben die Produzenten neue biologische
Möglichkeiten, ihre Kulturen
vor diesen wichtigen Schädlingen zu
schützen.
Dank
Wir danken unseren Partnern für die
hervorragende Zusammenarbeit über
die letzten Jahre.
Les nouvelles ho-
mologations de nos
virus à l’échelle
mondiale
Andermatt Biocontrol est un leader
mondial dans le développement et la
commercialisation de produits à base
de baculovirus. L’année passée nous
avons pu enregistrer une nouvelle
série d’homologations pour nos produits
à base de virus.
MADEX récemment homologué en
Tchéquie, Hongrie, Portugal et Suède
Depuis le début de l’année passée,
les producteurs de fruits tchèques ont
la possibilité d’utiliser MADEX dans
leur culture. Notre partenaire Biocont
Laboratories a reçu l’homologation
pour le MADEX (matière active: virus
de la granulose de Cydia pomonella).
La Tchéquie recense 8000 hectares de
pommes et 500 hectares de poires. La
Hongrie qui recense une surface avoisinant
les 40 000 hectares a aussi reçu
une homologation pour MADEX (par
Biocont Hungary Ltd.).
Le Portugal produit actuellement environ
190 000 tonnes de pommes par
an. Le MADEX y est homologué depuis
2010 et commercialisé par l’entreprise
Firma Biosani Lda.
Au nord de l’Europe, l’augmentation
des températures crée de plus en plus
de problèmes avec le carpocapse des
pommes.
Notre distributeur
Agro Regional s.r.l. a pu, peu
actuelles. Grâce au MADEX Plus nous
avons pu offrir rapidement un isolat
brisant la résistance avec une haute
efficacité. MADEX Plus a pu être enregistré
en Hollande la saison passée
(par Koppert B.V.). Le même isolat est
enregistré depuis l’année passée en
Italie sous le nom « MADEX 100» ( par
Intrachem Bio Italy S.p.A.). MADEX
officielles. Cependant notre partenaire
en Italie Intrachem Bio Italia
S.p.A. a pu obtenir une homologation
provisoire pour l’ HELICOVEX contre
Helicoverpaarmigera sur tomate, piment,
aubergine, concombre, salade
et haricot.
Egypte: LITTOVIR et HELICOVEX au
pays des pharaons
L’Egypte était déjà à l’époque des
pharaons un grand pays agricole et
un important exportateur de produits
agricoles. Aujourd’hui encore l’Egypte
Notre partenaire
Agrolink Co. a reçu l’année passée les
homologations pour le LITTOVIR (Matière
active: virus de la polyédrose nucléaire
de Spodoptera littoralis) contre
ag-journal 2011
Spodoptera littoralis et HELICOVEX
contre Helicoverpaarmigera.Les producteurs
ont ainsi de nouvelles possibilités
biologiques pour protéger leurs
cultures contre ces ravageurs.
Remerciements
Nous remercions nos partenaires pour
leur excellente collaboration ces dernières
années
Baculoviruses: New
product registrations
worldwide
Andermatt Biocontrol is a leading
company in production and commercialisation
of baculovirus products.
In the past year we have been able to
announce a series of new approvals.
MADEX is now registered in the
Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal
and Sweden
Since last spring, Czech fruit growers
have been able to acquire MADEX for
biological control of codling moth.
MADEX was approved for our partner
Biocont Laboratories (active ingredient:
Cydia pomonella granulovirus).
The Czech Republic has 8000 hectares
of apple and 500 ha of pear
cultivation. In Hungary, with 40 000
hectares of apple cultivation, MADEX
has also been approved (for Biocont
Hungary Ltd.).
Currently, Portugal is producing
190 000 tonnes of apples a year.
MADEX was registered there in 2010
and is distributed by the company
Biosani Lda.
Because of increasing average temperatures
in Northern Europe, codling
moth has also become a growing
problem there. MADEX was registered
in Sweden last year and is distributed
by Biobasiq Sverige AB.
Southern hemisphere: MADEX registered
in Australia and Uruguay
After a long registration process,
MADEX was approved in Australia
by our New Zealand partner Key
Industries Ltd. Australia’s apple and
pear growing regions are mostly restricted
to the east and south east of
the country. Codling moth is one of
the most severe pests in pomiculture
in Australia.
Uruguay has 3000 hectares of apple
and 1000 hectares of pear cultivation.
Shortly before the 2010 /11 season our
distributor (Agro Regional s.r.l.) was
able to get the approval for MADEX
in the “Switzerland of South America”.
MADEX Plus in the Netherlands,
MADEX 100 in Italy
The occurrence of resistance to CpGV-
M (Mexican isolate) in some local
codling moth populations, means
growers affected need new resistance
breaking CpGV products. Andermatt
Biocontrol has already been able to
offer MADEX Plus, a highly efficient
CpGV product with a new resistance
breaking isolate. MADEX Plus was
registered in the Netherlands (through
Koppert B.V.) last season. In Italy the
product was approved as “ MADEX
100” (through Intrachem Bio Italy
S.p.A.). MADEX 100 is an effective
solution to both resistant and nonresistant
codling moth populations.
First SPEXIT sales in Spain
Spain, and especially the region of
Almeria, is an important vegetable
garden for all of Europe. With an increasing
demand for chemical residue
free vegetables and the ban of
many active substances in the EU,
it has been difficult for producers to
successfully control important pests
such as Spodoptera exigua. SPEXIT
(active ingredient: Spodopteraexigua
nucleopolyhedrovirus) is an extremely
effective organic insecticide. Due to
the urgency to provide growers with a
range of new, efficient and chemical
residue free pesticides, the Spanish authorities
issued a temporary approval
for SPEXIT on peppers (greenhouse application),
obtained by Agrichem S.A.
last season.
Provisional approval of HELICOVEX
in Italy
Helicoverpaarmigera is a severe pest
on a range of vegetables, but also on
corn and cotton. HELICOVEX (active
ingredient: Helicoverpaarmigera nucleopolyhedrovirus)
has been successfully
tested against this pest insect for
the past few years. In 2006, the dossier
for the new active ingredient was submitted
to the EU, but its evaluation is
still pending. Meanwhile, our partner
in Italy, Intrachem Bio Italy S.p.A., was
able to get the provisional approval
for HELICOVEX against Helicoverpaarmigera
on tomato, pepper, egg plant,
cucumber, lettuce and beans.
Egypt: LITTOVIR and HELICOVEX in
the land of the pharaohs
Long ago, during the time of the pharaohs,
Egypt was an important agricultural
country and exporter of high
value crops. Today, Egypt is still an important
exporting country of considerable
amounts of cotton, wheat, rice,
but also tomato and potato. Export
into countries such as the EU requires
that specific production standards are
met. As a result, growers in Egypt need
new, efficient and chemical residue
free pesticides. Registration approvals
for LITTOVIR (active ingredient: Spodopteralittoralisnucleopolyhedrovirus)
against Spodopteralittoralisand
HELICOVEX against Helicoverpaarmigera
were obtained by our partner,
Agrolink Co. Growers in Egypt now
have new organic methods to protect
their crops from various insect pests.
Special thanks to our partners for their
outstanding collaboration in the past
few years.
Nützlinge auf dem Vormarsch
im Vorratsschutzbereich
Der Einsatz von Vorratsnützlingen in
Lager- und Verarbeitungsbetrieben
nimmt stetig an Wichtigkeit zu. Der
Wegfall von Aktivsubstanzen und restriktivere
Rückstandsrichtlinien fördern
diesen Trend.
Andermatt Biocontrol bietet seit vier
Jahren drei verschiedene Nützlinge
gegen Hauptschädlinge im Vorratsbereich
an. Neu vertreibt die Firma
COLKIM S.R.L in Italien und die Firma
EDIALUX S.A. in Frankreich unser
Les auxiliaires pour la protection
des stocks en phase d’envol.
L’utilisation d’auxiliaires dans la gestion
des stocks et dans les installations
Folgejahr erreicht werden. Die damit
erzielte niedrigere Ausgangspopulation
bereitet ideale Bedingungen für
eine noch bessere Wirkung der gängigen
Bekämpfungsmethoden. Die
Wahl der Nematodenart richtet sich
nach den vorherrschenden Temperaturen.
Steinernemafeltiae weist dabei
bei tieferen Temperaturen eine etwas
bessere Temperaturtoleranz auf als
Steinernemacarpocapsae. Andermatt
Biocontrol bietet ihren Kunden für
die se Anwendung sowohl St. feltiaeals
auch St.carpocapsaean.
Nématodes: un outil de plus
dans la lutte contre le carpocapse.
Pour les exploitations Bio et les exploitations
conventionnelles, ayant
à lutter contre une forte pression de
population de carpocapse, les nematodes
offrent un outil de plus, grâce
à une application en automne sur les
larves hivernantes. Les nématodes
s’attaquent aux larves du carpocapse.
Lors d’une l’application automnale de
nématodes, une réduction de la population
d’env. 50 – 70% pourra être
atteinte dans la première génération
de transformations alimentaires prend
son envol. La diminution de substances
actives et les lignes directrices
restrictives concernant les résidus font
progresser cette tendance.
Andermatt Biocontrol propose depuis
4 ans divers auxiliaires contre les
principaux ravageurs dans les stocks
alimentaires.
Use of beneficial insects are
on the rise in stored product
protection
The importance of beneficial insects
in food storage and processing industries
continues to increase. Active
substances are continuously being removed
and more restrictive chemical
de l’année suivante. Ainsi, l’objectif
d’une population basse, solution
idéale de départ, améliorera les méthodes
de lutte usuelle. Le choix des
sortes de nématodes dépendra des
conditions prévisionnelles de températures.
Steinernema feltiae est plus
tolérante envers les températures
basses que Steinernemacarpocapsae.
Andermatt Biocontrol propose à sa
clientèle les deux produits St.feltiae
et St.carpocapsae.
Nematodes: an additional component
for codling moth control
For organic fruit growers and farms
that suffer from high codling moth
populations, an application of nematodes
in the autumn has proven to be
a useful addition to the usual control
methods.
Nematode treatments can reduce the
population size of the first generation
by 50 – 70% in the year following
treatment. This smaller initial population
can then be treated even more effectively
with the usual control methods.
The type of nematodes to use,
depends on the temperature: Steinernemafeltiaeshows
a slightly better
tolerance to low temperatures than
Steinernemacarpocapsae. Andermatt
Biocontrol can offer both S.feltiaeand
S.carpocapsae.
residue policies support this trend.
For the past 4 years, Andermatt
Biocontrol has been offering 3 different
types of beneficial insects
for stored product pests. Recently,
COLKIM S.R.L. in Italy and EDIALUX
S.A. in France have begun to distribute
our products for stored product
protection.
Biologische Bekämpfung des gefürchteten
Buchsbaumzünslers im Hausgarten
Daniel Schüpbach und Sandra Pabst, AndermattBiogarten
Buchsbäume haben in Bauerngärten
und Parkanlagen eine lange Gartentradition.
Auch in modernen Gärten
hat der Buchsbaum eine wichtige
Rolle eingenommen. Leider macht
seit einiger Zeit der Buchsbaumzünsler
(Glyphodes perspectalis)
den Buchsbäumen das Leben schwer
und verursacht grosse Schäden. Mit
DELFIN gegen Buchsbaumzünsler
lässt sich der unliebsame, aus Asien
stammende Schädling biologisch und
effizient bekämpfen.
Herkunft des Schädlings
Der Buchsbaumzünsler ist ein Schädling,
der erst seit kurzem in Europa
auftritt und ursprünglich aus Asien
stammt. Eingeschleppt wurde der
Buchsbaumzünsler über Bäume, die
aus China importiert wurden. Der
Buchsbaumzünsler hat sich in der
Schweiz von Basel her ausgebreitet
und wird an immer neuen Standorten
gefunden. Es ist zu befürchten, dass
bald die ganze Schweiz davon befallen
sein wird.
Schadbild und Ausbreitung
Die gefrässigen Raupen des Buchsbaumzünslers
verursachen einen
starken Blatt- und Rindenfrass und
können die beliebten Buchsbäume bis
linge häufig erst auf, wenn kahlgefressene
oder verbräunte Stellen oder die
Gespinste sichtbar werden. Pro Jahr
entwickeln sich 2 – 3 Generationen,
wobei die letzte Generation als Larve
überwintert.
Biologische Bekämpfung der
Buchsbaumzünsler-Larven
Entscheidend für eine effiziente Bekämpfung
ist die frühzeitige Erkennung
eines Befalls. Erste Anzeichen
sind Gespinste, grüner Kot und angefressene
Blätter. Buchshecken und
einzelne Buchs-Pflanzen sind deshalb
von Mitte März bis Ende September
regelmässig auf die kleinen, grünlichen
Raupen zu kontrollieren. Es ist
zwischen den Ästen gründlich nach
Raupen und Gespinsten abzusuchen.
Bei Erschütterung lassen sich die Raupen
fallen. Auf diese Weise lassen
sie sich bei kleineren Pflanzen auch
Einsammeln.
Wird ein Befall erkannt, kann biologisch
mit DELFIN gegen Buchsbaumzünsler
behandelt werden. DELFIN
basiert auf einem Bacillus thuringiensis-Stamm
und zeigt ausgezeichnete
Wirkung gegen die Schadraupen. Für
Raupen über 3 cm Grösse empfiehlt
sich, einmalig mit PYRETHRUM FS zu
behandeln. Danach kann gegen frisch
geschlüpfte Raupen wieder DELFIN
eingesetzt werden.
Ausblick
Um das natürliche Ungleichgewicht
im Garten nicht noch mehr zu stören,
sollten möglichst spezifisch wirkende
Produkte wie DELFIN eingesetzt
werden, damit sich die Natur wie-
der regulieren kann und sich Nützlinge
einstellen können. So wurden
vermehrt Vögel, hauptsächlich Meisen,
beobachtet, wie sie die Raupen
des Buchsbaumzünslers teils gezielt
fressen.
have also become an important
decorative element in many modern
gardens. Unfortunately, the box tree
pyralid (Glyphodes perspectalis) has
become a serious pest to box trees
and is causing severe damage. With
DELFIN, an organic insecticide, this
unpopular insect pest from Asia can
be eliminated efficiently.
Andermatt Biogarten im Frühling Papillonessa
in einem neuen, attraktiveren
Design präsentieren.
Mit der neu 5-sprachigen Broschüre
und dem Kit mit Gutschein, mit welchem
der Kunde die lebenden Distelfalterraupen
abrufen kann, kann
Papillonessa nun auch Wiederverkäufern
im In- und Ausland angeboten
werden. Mit Adalia Aufzucht wird
2011 auch die Aufzucht für Marienkäfer
attraktiver gestaltet und in fünf
Sprachen erhältlich sein.
Familien und Privatpersonen
Dank der intensivierten Betreuung von
Journalisten konnten zahlreiche spannende
Kontakte geknüpft werden. So
erschien z.B. in Zusammenarbeit mit
der Zeitschrift KinderMAX, welche
sich an Kinder von 6 –12 Jahren richtet,
eine Seite mit Wettbewerb zum
Thema Marienkäfer. Der Gewinner
erhielt daraufhin ein Aufzucht-Kit für
Marienkäfer von Andermatt Biogarten
(Bild 1). Besonders erfreulich waren
auch die Beiträge in der Schweizer
Familie (Auflage 185 000) wie auch
in der SonntagsZeitung (Auflage
194 700).
Lehrpersonen
Neben den Kunden, welche die Aufzucht
der Tiere zu Hause mitverfolgen,
sind vor allem Lehrpersonen von
Kindergärten und Primarschulen eine
wichtige Zielgruppe. Im vielförmigen
Schweizer Schulsys tem ist es nicht
ganz einfach auszumachen, wie diese
Gruppe am besten erreicht werden
kann. Umso erfreulicher ist es,
dass der Lehrmittelverlag für Kindergartenlehrpersonen
(ProKiga) unseren
Informations-Flyer zu den Aufzucht-
Kits in ihre Themenmappe «Frühling»
aufgenommen hat. Die Themenmappen
werden gerne zur Ideenfindung
für den Unterricht genutzt.
Auch in der einen oder anderen
Fachzeitschrift für Lehrpersonen waren
Beiträge über die Aufzucht der
Schmetterlinge oder Marienkäfer zu
finden.
Internet
Seit diesem Jahr sind die Aufzucht-Kits
von Andermatt Biogarten auf Facebook
vertreten (Bild 2). Auf dieser Plattform
haben Kunden die Möglichkeit sich zu
informieren, zu diskutieren und Fotos
hochzuladen. Gerne gehen wir auch
auf Fragen und Anregungen ein, welche
uns auf diesem Weg erreichen.
Rearing butterflies,
ladybirds and lace
wings
With the insect rearing kits
Andermatt Biogarten aims to highlight
the fascinating natural history
of insects to all naturalists professional
and amateur alike. With the
rearing kits, anyone can raise native
insects in their own home. In 2010
Andermatt Biogarten made contact
with journalists and teachers making
the rearing kits known, to advertise
the wonders of the insect world.
Papillonessa
The butterfly larva’s development can
be followed as it grows to finally become
a pupa. In the emergence tent
butterflies will emerge from their cocoon
and on a sunny day they can be
set free.
The painted lady is a migratory butterfly
native to Europe. Every year the
butterflies cover a distance of many
hundreds of kilometres to fly north
from Africa to Europe in spring and
lay their eggs, preferably on thistles.
However, the animals cannot overwinter
in these latitudes, forcing the
last generation of the summer to fly
back to northern Africa in the autumn.
Rearing Adalia
In Rearing Adalia, a small ladybird
larva will emerge from the egg. The
larva feeds until it becomes a pupa. After
two-spotted ladybirds emerge from
their cocoons they can be placed on a
plant infested with aphids. With a bit
of luck they will even start laying eggs.
One ladybird larva can eat up to 100
aphids a day, which is why ladybirds
are important beneficial insects in the
garden.
Lacewing rearing kit
In August 2010 Andermatt Biogarten
added another exciting experience
of nature to their product range, the
Lacewing rearing kit. Lacewing larvae
are native to Europe and are known to
be efficient aphid hunters, while the
adults feed on nectar and pollen.
Families/private individuals
Many contacts were made with journalists
in the past year. In collaboration
with the children’s magazine Kinder-
MAX for ages 6 –12, a page including
a contest was dedicated to the development
of the ladybird. The winner
of this challenge was rewarded with
a rearing kit for ladybirds sponsored
by Andermatt Biogarten (Image 1).
We were especially pleased with the
articles published in “Schweizer Familie”
(swiss family magazine, edition of
185 000) and “SonntagsZeitung” (Sunday
newspaper, edition of 194 700).
Teaching staff
As well as the families following the
development of our insects at home,
kindergarten and elementary school
teachers form a very important target
audience. However, due to the diversity
of the Swiss school system it is
quite a challenge to reach this group.
So, it was all the more pleasing that
the publisher of teaching material for
kindergartens (ProKiga) added our
flyer on the rearing kits to their theme
folder “Spring”. The theme folders are
often checked by kindergarten teachers
for ideas.
Various articles on our rearing kits for
butterflies or ladybirds were also pub-
lished in one or other of the journals
for teaching staff.
Oxalsäure, ein Varroazid mit zahlreichen
Anwendungsmöglichkeiten
Thierry Suard, AndermattBioVet
Der Einsatz der Oxalsäure zur Behandlung
der Varroamilbe ist unter
Imkern sehr verbreitet. Die Oxalsäure
kann geträufelt, gesprüht oder
verdampft werden. Die Wirksamkeit
liegt bei brutlosen Völkern über
95%.
Oxalsäure ist ein natürlich vorkommender
Wirkstoff, der sich zur Behandlung
der Varroamilbe, ein Ektoparasit
der Honigbiene, bewährt hat.
Die Säure, auch Kleesäure genannt,
kommt in der Natur in zahlreichen
Pflanzen wie Rhabarber, Spinat, Sauerampfer
und Sauerklee (Oxalis spp.)
vor. Spuren von Oxalsäure findet
man als Stoffwechselprodukt aus Vitamin
C auch im menschlichen Blut
und im Urin. Ferner ist die Säure einer
von vielen natürlichen Bestandteilen
des Honigs. Behandelt man die Bienenvölker
zum richtigen Zeitpunkt,
wird die Qualität des Honigs nicht
beeinträchtigt.
Oxalsäure hat keine Wirkung auf die
Varroamilbe in der verdeckelten Brut.
Aus diesem Grund wird empfohlen,
die Substanz nur bei Brutlosigkeit
anzuwenden. Die Wirksamkeit der
Winterbehandlung beträgt über 95%.
In Russland wird Oxalsäure seit mehr
als 40 Jahren erfolgreich zur Varroa-
Behandlung eingesetzt. Eine Resistenzbildung
ist bisher nicht aufgetreten
und unwahrscheinlich.
Es gibt drei verschiedene Methoden,
um Oxalsäure im Bienenvolk anzuwenden:
Träufeln, Sprühen und
Verdampfen.
Die Träufelbehandlung mit Zucker-
Wasser-Lösung (OXUVAR ad us.
vet.) ist einfach, schnell und besonders
sicher für den Anwender. Aus
diesen Gründen ist diese Methode
sehr verbreitet. Es wird empfohlen,
nur eine Behandlung pro Saison
durchzuführen.
Mit dem Sprühverfahren können die
Bienen mehrmals behandelt werden.
Werden die Völker zum richtigen Zeitpunkt
behandelt, sind wiederholte
Behandlungen nicht notwendig. Der
Arbeitsaufwand und die Störung der
Bienen ist gross, da das Volk geöffnet
und jede einzelne Wabe beidseitig
eingesprüht werden muss.
Das Verdampfen mit dem VARROX-
Verdampfer ist nachweislich die
sanfteste Methode für die Bienen und
kann mehrmals durchgeführt werden.
Beim Verdampfen wie beim Sprühen
muss allerdings geeignete Schutzkleidung
getragen werden, um den Kontakt
und das Einatmen des Oxalsäurenebels
zu vermeiden.
L’acide oxalique, un
varroacide aux multiples
modes d’application
L’acide oxalique est d’usage répandu
en apiculture pour le contrôle de
l’acarien parasite varroa. Il peut être
appliqué par dégouttement, par pulvérisation
et par évaporation. Son
efficacité surpasse 95% dans les colonies
hors couvain.
On trouve
hors couvain. L’efficacité obtenue
dépasse 95% en hiver.
Image 3: Varroa on a bee larva
L’acide oxalique est utilisé depuis
plus de 40 ans en Russie, sans que
des acariens résistants aient été rapportés.
C’est pourquoi dans un court et
moyen terme, la probabilité de l’apparition
d’une résistance est très faible.
Les différents modes d’applications
actuellement utilisés sont le dégouttement,
la pulvérisation et l’évaporation.
Le dégouttement en solution sucrée
(cf. notre produit OXUVAR, solution
d’acide oxalique dihydrate 3,5%
(m/V) ad us. vet. pour abeilles) est la
méthode la plus simple, la plus rapide
et de surcroît absolument sans
danger pour l’utilisateur. C’est la raison
pour laquelle cette méthode est
très répandue. Il est recommandé de
ne pratiquer le dégouttement qu’une
seule fois.
notre produit VARROX). Elle peut
aussi être répétée plusieurs fois. C’est
la méthode qui dérange le moins les
colonies. La pulvérisation comme
l’évaporation requièrent cependant
de l’utilisateur différentes précautions
sanitaires. Elles visent à éviter tout
contact ou inhalation de particules
d’acide oxalique.
Oxalic acid, a varroacide
with multiple
modes of application
Oxalic acid is frequently used by
beekeepers to control the ectoparasite
varroa. It can be applied through
trickling in a sugar syrup solution
(see our product OXUVAR), through
spraying in a watery solution or
through evaporation (see our product
VARROX). Its efficacy exceeds
95% in broodless colonies.
Die Situation in der Schweiz dürfte
vergleichbar sein.
Die sichtbaren Stallfliegen entsprechen
lediglich den obersten 10% des
Eisberges. Die restlichen 90% bilden
die Fliegeneier, -larven und -puppen,
welche unsichtbar in Einstreu und Entmistungssystemen
verborgen sind. Die
Effizienz der Nützlinge basiert auf der
Dezimierung dieser 90%.
Güllefliegenlarven fressen Stallfliegenlarven,
Schlupfwespen parasitieren
Stallfliegenpuppen.
Die Nützlinge wandern auf der Suche
nach ihren Wirtstieren und ihrer Futtergrundlage
zu den Verstecken, wo
die Fliegenvermehrung stattfindet
und eliminieren gezielt die nachwachsende
Fliegenpopulation.
29
30
Der Einsatz von Nützlingen soll darum
rechtzeitig im Frühjahr erfolgen. Die
Nützlinge vermehren sich zeitgleich
mit der Fliegenpopulation und müssen
deshalb genügend Zeit haben, eine eigene
starke Population aufzubauen.
l’iceberg.
Urs Fanger, Entomos
Reptilien sind in Schweizer Haushalten
längst keine Seltenheit mehr.
Seit über 30 Jahren werden daher
Futterinsekten gezüchtet und als Lebendfutter
an Reptilienhalter, Zoofachgeschäfte
und Zoos verkauft.
Die häufigsten Futterinsekten waren
bisher Grillen, doch Heuschrecken
werden je länger je beliebter.
Die ersten auf dem Markt erhältlichen
Futterinsekten waren Grillen. Sie wurden
vor über 30 Jahren von einigen
wenigen Produzenten gezüchtet und
europaweit vertrieben. Grillen sind relativ
anspruchslos und können daher
gut und preiswert gezüchtet werden.
Zudem können sie einfach verfüttert
und durch den Züchter gut gehalten
werden. Bis heute haben sich die Grillen
deshalb klar auf Platz 1 der meistverkauften
Futterinsekten gehalten.
Grillen haben als Futterinsekten auch
ihre Nachteile. Der wichtigste Nachteil
ist das Zirpen, was viele Reptilienhalter
als störend empfinden. Durch
ihre Nachtaktivität sind sie zudem oft
dann im Terrarium aktiv, wenn die
Reptilien schlafen. Gewisse Grillenarten
können sogar Reptilien anknabbern,
was zu Schäden an den Tieren
führen kann. Andere sind bei uns
heimisch und können in den Häusern
lange überleben und so zu Lästlingen
werden.
All diese Nachteile haben Heuschrecken
nicht. Sie sind tagaktiv, zirpen
nicht und flüchten im Terrarium nicht
ins Dunkle, sondern halten sich am
Licht auf. Damit können Sie von den
Tieren gut erbeutet werden. Heuschrecken
sind auch in Bezug auf
ihre Nährstoffbilanz hervorragend zur
Fütterung an Reptilien geeignet. Deshalb
wenden sich viele Reptilienhalter
immer mehr von den Grillenarten ab
und verfüttern Heuschrecken. Auch
in den Zoos gewinnen Heuschrecken
an Bedeutung: Nebst Reptilien haben
nämlich auch Vögel und Affen diese
grossen Insekten zum Fressen gern.
Les sauterelles
amorcent une nouvelle
tendance dans
le secteur des insectes
nourriciers
Les reptiles ne sont depuis longtemps
plus des raretés dans les ménages
suisses. Depuis plus de 30 ans, des
insectes nourriciers sont élevés et
vendus comme nourriture vivante
aux détenteurs de reptiles, animaleries
et zoos. L’insecte nourricier le
plus fréquent était jusqu’à présent le
grillon, mais les sauterelles semblent
leur emboiter le pas.
Les premiers insectes nourriciers
disponibles sur le marché furent les
grillons.
menu quotidien.
Locusts lead to a
change in trend as
fodder insects
Reptiles have become very popular
in Swiss households. For more than
30 years now, live food has been
reared and sold to reptile owners,
pet shops and zoos. Crickets have
been the most common live food for
years, but now locusts are becoming
more and more popular.
Biochirurgie – ein kostbares Instrument
zur Heilung chronischer Wunden
Urs Fanger, Entomos
In unserer ständig älter werdenden
Gesellschaft treten chronische Wunden
vermehrt auf. Als chronisch wird
eine Wunde bezeichnet, die während
mindestens 4 – 6 Wochen keinen Heilungsverlauf
zeigt. Solche Wunden
können mit verschiedenen Methoden
behandelt werden. Eine der erfolgreichsten
Methoden ist die Biochirurgie,
wie ein Fallbeispiel zeigt.
Ein Patient (70 Jahre) musste mit einer
Beinverletzung hospitalisiert werden.
Die Operation verlief gut und der Patient
konnte zur Rehabilitation nach
Hause entlassen werden. Doch einige
Wochen nach der Entlassung aus
dem Spital musste der Patient wieder
eingeliefert werden. Die Wunde der
Operation war wieder aufgeklafft und
schmerzte stark. Die Wundexpertin
betrachtete die Wunde und stellte
eine starke Infektion fest. Durch eine
Infektion bildete sich in der Wunde
ein Belag (Biofilm). Dieser Belag musste
sofort entfernt werden, ansonsten
hätte die Infektion fortschreiten und
möglicherweise den Knochen befallen
können (Osteomyelitis).
und Nekrose
Solche Fälle der verlangsamten Wundheilung
sind besonders bei älteren
Patienten sehr häufig. Oft verbringt
ein Patient ein Vielfaches der Zeit mit
der Wundheilung, als mit dem Beheben
des ursprünglichen Problems.
Die Heilung chronischer Wunden
kostet unser Gesundheitssystem sehr
viel Geld. Der erste und elementarste
Schritt zur Wundheilung ist die
Reinigung respektive die Beseitigung
von Wundbelag (sogenanntes Fibrin
oder Nekrosen). Diese Reinigung
kann auf verschiedenen Wegen erfolgen.
Bei der chirurgischen Wundreinigung
werden die Beläge mittels
Skalpell entfernt. Bei der autolytischen
Wundreinigung lösen Substanzen in
sogenannten Hydrogelen die Beläge
chemisch auf. Die älteste und bis
heute sehr erfolgreiche Methode der
Wundreinigung ist die Biochirurgie.
Bei der biochirurgischen Methode
wird die Wunde durch Fliegenmaden
der Art Luciliasericata gereinigt. Die
Maden sind in einem Teebeutel ähnlichen
Säcklein eingeschweisst und
können daraus nicht entweichen.
Der Beutel wird direkt auf die Wunde
gelegt und dort 3 – 4 Tage belassen.
Während dieser Zeit verflüssigen die
Fliegenmaden den Wundbelag durch
die Maschen hindurch und saugen
diesen auf. Die Substanzen, die sie
mit ihrem Speichel in die Wunde abgeben,
töten die Wundbakterien ab.
Mit diesem Verfahren wird die Wunde
gereinigt und gleichzeitig desinfiziert.
In unserem Fallbeispiel musste die
Wundexpertin die Entscheidung für
eine Methode der Wundreinigung
schnell treffen. Die Ausgangslage war
klar: Kein Desinfektionsmittel konnte
den Biofilm knacken und auch die
Antibiotika konnten in diesem Bereich
nicht wirken. Die zuständige Wundmanagerin
lehnte ein chirurgisches
Débridement ab, da es über der Sehne
zu riskant wäre.
Die einzige Methode, die übrig blieb
um die Wunde zu reinigen, war die
Biochirurgie.
Die Fliegenmaden wurden im Beutel
auf die Wunde appliziert und nach 4
Tagen wieder entfernt. Das Resultat
erstaunte selbst die erfahrene Wundmanagerin.
Mit den Maden war die
Wunde nach einer einzigen Behandlung
gesäubert. «Es ist erstaunlich, was
die Maden alles weggeputzt haben»
so die zuständige Wundmanagerin.
Heute ist die Wunde verheilt und der
Patient längst aus dem Spital entlassen.
Wie das Fallbeispiel zeigt, kann die
Biochirurgie eine wichtige Rolle im
Heilungsprozess von chronischen
Wunden spielen. Sie stellt eine
sinnvolle Ergänzung innerhalb der
Wundreinigungsmethoden dar. Speziell
bei Wunden, wo herkömmliche
Methoden nicht wirken (zum Beispiel
Resistenz gegenüber Antibiotika, oder
eine komplizierte Beschaffenheit der
Wunde) kann die Biochirurgie ein
kostbares Instrument zur Heilung
chronischer Wunden sein.
La biochirurgie – un
instrument de choix
pour guérir les
plaies chroniques
sericata. Les asticots sont enfermés
dans une poche semblable à un sachet
de thé et ne peuvent en sortir. Le sachet
est appliqué directement sur la
plaie et laissé pour 3– 4 jours. Pendant
ce temps, les asticots liquéfient à travers
les mailles les dépôts de la plaie
pour les aspirer. Ils sécrètent parallèlement
des substances bactéricides,
nettoyant et désinfectant la plaie tout
à la fois.
Dans notre cas de figure, l’infirmière
consultante en plaies dut rapidement
se décider pour une méthode de soin.
La situation initiale était claire: aucun
désinfectant ne pouvait pénétrer le
biofilm et même les antibiotiques ne
pouvaient pas agir dans ce domaine.
L’infirmière consultante en plaies refuse
un débridement chirurgical, car
trop dangereux pour les tendons.
La seule méthode restante pour
nettoyer la plaie constituait la
biochirurgie.
Image 3: Medical maggots in Bag, applied to skin
Les asticots furent appliqués en sachet
sur la plaie et ôtés après 4 jours.
Le résultat étonna même l’infirmière
consultante en plaies expérimentée.
Grâce aux asticots, la plaie fut nettoyée
en un seul traitement. «C’est
surprenant tout ce que les asticots ont
évacué.» nota l’infirmière consultante
en plaies. A ce jour, la plaie est guérie
et le patient est rentré depuis longtemps
de l’hôpital.
Comme le montre l’exemple, la biochirurgie
peut jouer un rôle important
dans le processus de guérison de
plaies chroniques. Elle représente un
complément pertinent à l’arsenal de
méthodes disponibles pour nettoyer
les plaies. Particulièrement dans les
cas où les méthodes traditionnelles
faillent (par ex. résistance aux antibiotiques
ou en cas de plaies compliquées),
la biochirurgie peut être un
choix judicieux pour guérir les plaies
chroniques.
Maggot debride-
ment therapy – a
valuable instrument
in the treatment of
chronic wounds
In our ever-aging society chronic
wounds have been becoming a common
problem. A wound is seen as
chronic, when there is no visible
signs of healing within 4 – 6 weeks.
Various methods can be used to treat
these wounds. One of the most successful
approaches is maggot debridement
therapy.
