This disease attacks the roots whether in the plant bed or the field, rotting them and eventually
turning them black. In severe infection, the disease is recognized by slow growth of the
plants and yellowing of the leaves. The yellow stunted plants tend to wilt and flower prematurely.

marcescer e florar prematurmente.
Cette maladie attaque les racines, aussi bien dans la couche de semis que dans le champ;
elle fait pourrir les plantes et les fait noircir 4ventuellement. Dans les cas graves, la maladie
se reconnalt h la croissance lente des plantes et au jaunessement du feuillage. Les plantes
jaunes et rabougries tendent h se fl6trir et fleurir pr6maturdment.
Esta enfermedad ataca las races ya sea en el semillero o en el campo, pudriendolas y volvi~ndolas
de color negro. Cuando la infecci6n es severa, la enfermedad se reconoce por el
lento crecimiento de las plantas y el amarillamiento de las hojas. Las plantas achaparradas
y amarillas tienden a marchitarse y a florecer prematuramente.
