This disease occurs as white or grayish-white galls <strong>of</strong> varying size on any aerial part <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>plant</strong>. The individual galls vary greatly as to size. They may be seen along the midrib <strong>of</strong> a<br />

leaf, at the base <strong>of</strong> the leaf, on the stalk or in the tassels or ears. When the galls are forming,<br />

they are light-colored throughout but as they mature, masses <strong>of</strong> black spores are formed.<br />

The galls rupture and release the fungus spores. Seedling infection results in distorted and<br />

dwarfed <strong>plant</strong>s.<br />

Iste maladia occurre como gallas blanc o blanc-gris de varie dimensiones in tote le partes<br />

aeree del <strong>plant</strong>a. Le gallas se varia grandemente in dimension. Illos se manifesta in le nervatura<br />

foliar, al pede foliar, in le pedunculos, o in le spicas c spiculas. Le gallas comencia<br />

como maculas de color clar, ma quando illos se matura, massas de sporas nigre se developpa.<br />

Le gallas se r umpe e discarga le sporas fungal. Infection de <strong>plant</strong>ulas causa <strong>plant</strong>as nanos<br />

e distorte.<br />

Cette maladie se pr6sente sous forme de galles blanches ou gris~tres de grosseur variable su<br />

les parties a6riennes do la <strong>plant</strong>e. La grosseur des galles a3rie beaucoun. On les rencontr.,<br />

le long des nervures des feuilles, i la base dr la feuille, sur les tiges ou sur les panicules<br />

ou les 6pis. Quand los galles se forment, ellks sont pales d'un bout l'autre, mais en vieillissant,<br />

elles se transforment en masses de spores noires. Les galles se rompent et lib~rent<br />

Esta enfermadad aparece corno agallas blancasoblanco-gris~ceas de diferentes tamafios en caulquier<br />

verse en la vena central de la hoja, en la base de la hoja, on el tallo o en ' espigas o mazorcas.<br />

Cuando se estdn formando 12s agallas, son de color claro todas, pero a medida que<br />

maduran so forman masas de esporas negras. Las agallas se rompen dejando salir las esporas<br />

del hongo. La infecci6n de las pl 'las da co-ao resultado <strong>plant</strong>as achaparradas y deformes.<br />
