needs <strong>of</strong> senior citizens has, so far, come mainly from Western <strong>and</strong> Northern <strong>European</strong><br />
countries.<br />
The risk <strong>of</strong> an investment in housing for the elderly is assessed as low to average by approximately<br />
62 percent <strong>of</strong> experts. The risk is evaluated as high in the countries <strong>of</strong> Belgium,<br />
Pol<strong>and</strong>, Great Britain <strong>and</strong> also the Netherl<strong>and</strong>s. The reasons for this evaluation are<br />
frequently the high investments or also the high st<strong>and</strong>ards which housing for senior citizens<br />
must meet. Companies specialising in housing for the elderly, operating in national<br />
markets, nevertheless have extensive market knowledge <strong>and</strong> use this as a unique sales argument<br />
so that they work successfully <strong>and</strong> assess risks correctly as well as protect against<br />
these.<br />
