« Je ne perds jamais. Soit je
gagne, soit j’apprends. »
Du haut de ces 16 ans, cette jeune Malgache
était la représentante de Madagascar en ski alpin
aux derniers jeux olympiques de Séoul. Grande
compétitrice, elle a commencé le ski à l’âge de
5 ans et poursuit son amour pour la glisse avec
passion et ferveur.

Prime Media : Comment conciliez-vous vie d’étudiante et
sportive de haut niveau ?
Mia Clerc : e suis étudiante en première et je poursuis mes
études par correspondance, ce qui me permet d'organiser
mon temps entre entraînements, courses et études. Mes
journées s'organisent autour de l'entraînement (ski et
préparation physique), études, piano, chant et le temps de
la récupération.
Prime Media : How do you reconcile a life as student and
as sportswoman?
Mia Clerc : I am a grade 12 student and I keep-up my studies
by correspondence, which allows me to organise my time
between training, races and studies. My days are divided
between training (skiing and physical preparation), studies,
piano, singing and the time of recovery.
Prime Media : Vous êtes classée parmi les 50 meilleures
athlètes féminines en slalom géant durant les J.O,
Comment envisagez-vous l’avenir dans ce sport ?
Mia Clerc : Côté sportif, mon objectif est d’être classée
d’ici 4 ans (prochains JO) au top 30 mondial et ensuite
au top 5. Mon expérience aux derniers J.O a été juste
EXTRAORDINAIRE : des rencontres, des échanges et une
organisation exceptionnelle consacrée au sport ! De plus,
jai atteint mes objectifs (finir mes courses et être classée
au top 50) !

At the age of 16, this young Madagascan
represented her country in alpine skiing at the
recent Olympic Games of Seoul. A formidable
competitor, she started skiing at the age of 5 and
still pursues her dream with passion and fervour
until this day.
Prime Media : You were ranked among the top 50 female
athletes in giant slalom during the Olympic Games.
How do you envision the future in this sport?
Mia Clerc : On the sporting side, my goal is to be listed in
the next years (next Olympics) among the worlds top 30
and then in the top 5. My experience at the last Olympics
was just ETRAORDINAR: meetings, exchanges and an
exceptional organisation dedicated to sport! In addition, I
achieved my goals: to finish my races and to be ranked in
the top 50!
Prime Media : Pourquoi avoir choisi de porter le drapeau
malgache durant les J.O ?
Mia Clerc : Souhaitant donner une dimension affective
à mon projet sportif, je choisis à l’aube de mes 16 ans
d’intégrer la Fédération malgache de Ski. Même si j’ai
grandi en France, Madagascar reste à jamais mon pays
d’origine. Au-delà des performances sportives, en tant
que première représentante malgache en ski alpin, je
tiens particulièrement à promouvoir et à participer au
développement de la femme et du sport féminin malgache.
Prime : Why did you choose to wear the Malagasy flag
during the Olympics?
Mia Clerc : Intending to give an emotional dimension to
my sports project, I choose already with 16 years to join the
Malagasy Ski Federation. Even though I grew up in France,
Madagascar remains forever my home country. Beyond
sports performances, as the first representative of Malagasy
alpine ski, I particularly want to promote and participate
in the development of women and the womens sport of
Madagascar.
