En face se trouve un autre bâtiment incontournable, la
Maison des Maçons, levez les yeux pour admirer les danseurs
qui virevoltent sur sa toiture. Après avoir vu la Halle
Municipale, direction le Beffroi qui symbolise la prospérité
et l'indépendance de la ville, il est surplombé du Dragon
qui est l'emblème de Gand. La Sint-Baafsplein est chargée
d'histoire, outre le Beffroi, on y trouve le théâtre et la
cathédrale Saint-Bavon qui abrite L'Adoration de l'Agneau
mystique des frères Van Eyck. À quelques mètres se trouve
la Maison de l'Arrière-Faucille (Achtersikkel) un véritable
havre de paix en plein de coeur de cette ville si animée, le
bâtiment bourgeois abrite désormais le Conservatoire de
musique de Gand. Face à la Cour Saint-Georges où Marie
de Bourgogne séjourna en 1477, vous découvrez l'imposant
Hôtel de Ville entre gothique flamboyant et style'Renaissance
italienne pour terminer en douceur votre premier
tour de découverte de la ville de Gand.

Opposite is another must-see building, the Maison des
Maçons; look up to admire the dancers spinning around on
its roof. After having seen the Municipal Hall, head to the
Belfry, which symbolises the prosperity and independence
of the city. It is overlooked by the Dragon, which is the
emblem of Ghent. The Sint-Baafsplein is steeped in history.
As well as the Belfry, there is the theatre and Saint Bavo's
Cathedral, which houses The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb
by the Van Eyck brothers. A few metres away is the Maison
de l'Arrière-Faucille (Achtersikkel), a true haven of peace in
the heart of this bustling city. The bourgeois building now
houses the Ghent Conservatory of Music. Facing the Cour
Saint-Georges, where Marie de Bourgogne stayed in 1477,
you will discover the imposing Town Hall, merging flamboyant
Gothic and Italian Renaissance styles to seamlessly
