Canberra has always been a dynamic design laboratory and place of

creative enterprise which is embodied in First Nations culture, the Griffins’

visionary design for the city, Canberra’s iconic modernist architecture;

and its thriving contemporary sustainable design, craft and art industries.

At 51 years old Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre is one of the longest

continuously running visual arts membership organisations in Australia

supporting artists, craft practitioners, designers and makers at every

stage of their careers. We celebrate the extraordinary talent of

Canberra’s creatives and continue to work to secure the vitality and

practice of the craftspeople, designers and audiences who form our

vibrant community – locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Purchasing from Craft ACT will sustain Australia’s high-quality studio

practice, grow the design craft sector and ensure the practice of

craftspeople and designers exists into the future. Shopping locally and

handmade has a low carbon footprint and contributes to environmental

sustainability.

Please help to support our artists by purchasing original, local and

handmade work of outstanding craftsmanship for your corporate gift

program. At a time when people yearn for the unique, the slow, the

handmade, the enduring, your purchase can help support a creative

community and help to create much needed change in our world.

Each gift will be hand wrapped and hand delivered to you or your client,

with information about the featured artist and Canberra’s thriving

contemporary craft and design community.

Thank you so much for your support.
