FROM THE PLACE-NAMES OF MARTVILI REGION<br />
WOODS AND PASTURES<br />
Natural or man-made object names have it in them to survive centuries and<br />
millenia. Historical and literary sources, epigraphics and fresco inscriptions, deeds<br />
and other official documents, and cartographic materials provide important information<br />
about geographic names. The etimology of word contents has great importance for<br />
the study of historical and ethnographic peculiarities of the country, ethnic situation<br />
of the given locality, traditional culture, husbandry and other issues.<br />
In this paper I discuss only a few number of place names of woods and<br />
pastures that I have recorded in the Martvili region.
