The Malaysian Pepper Industry Bulletin, published biannually by<br />
Malaysian Pepper Board is presently in its 36th year of publication.<br />
Prepared for the benefit of its individuals and organizations involved<br />
with the pepper industry, the bulletin which focuses on review of<br />
developments in the pepper industry, currently enjoys a circulation in<br />
excess of 1,000 copies per issue. Starting this year, all the articles in<br />
this bulletin are published in two languages, namely English Language<br />
and the Malay Language.<br />
It is our intention to continually improve the quality of this<br />
publication so as to enhance its usefulness. Towards this end, we<br />
welcome suggestions and contribution of articles from our readers.<br />
All contributed articles, if published will be duly acknowledged.<br />

Showcase (MIHAS) <strong>2011</strong><br />
Malaysian Pepper Board participated in the 8th Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) at the<br />
Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur from 6 - 9 April <strong>2011</strong>. This annual event was launched<br />
by Honourable Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob.<br />
About 385 exhibitors from 28 countries around the world such as China, Iran, Indonesia, Belgium, France,<br />
Turkey, Singapore, India and Japan took part in this exhibition.<br />
The objectives of MPB’s participation are to increase pepper consumption through promoting Malaysian<br />
pepper which is a Halal certified product locally and internationally, and at the same time to capture international<br />
market trade. During the exhibition, some of the products showcased were halal consumables such as frozen<br />
food, confectioneries, herbal products, poultry & dairy products, ready to eat meal and pharmaceutical products.<br />
Besides that, there were also non-food products such as toiletries, perfumeries and cosmetics. Land services was<br />
also promoted by financial institutions involved in Islamic Banking.<br />
MPB had actively participated in MIHAS event for the past few years and is no stranger among the exhibitors.<br />
Visitors turned up at MPB’s booth to enquire about pepper processing and also to buy pepper products. The<br />
participation of MPB in MIHAS <strong>2011</strong> is indeed a useful venture in which MPB kept itself abreast with the latest<br />
development in consumer preferences and new technologies available.<br />

International Organization of Spice Trading<br />
Association or IOSTA is a professional non-profit<br />
organization established to conduct forums to the<br />
industry representatives to discuss issues of common<br />
interests. Its memberships include spice associations<br />
around the globe whose members meet regularly to<br />
discuss issues relevant to the spice industry.<br />
IOSTA’s mission is to bring together spice<br />
organizations around the globe to address common<br />
issues and seek sensible solutions to ensure the<br />
sustainability of the spice industry. With this mission<br />
in mind, IOSTA represents the industry’s interests<br />
and international spice trade to the authorities at the<br />
national and international level as well as promoting<br />
consensus among members of the organization on all<br />
matters pertaining to the industry and spice trade. Apart<br />
from that, it has also been tasked to collect, review and<br />
disseminate related data in smoothing the achievement<br />
of IOSTA’s objectives. IOSTA is also given the status<br />
as International Non-Government Observer with<br />
codex.<br />
The main objective of IOSTA is to address issues<br />
regarding production, processing, food safety and<br />
seek sensible solutions to ensure the sustainability<br />
of the world spice industry. IOSTA’s membership is<br />
divided into two categories i.e. full membership and<br />
associate membership. The full membership is limited<br />
only to national and international spice associations<br />
and relevant entities who are involved in production,<br />
processing, treatment, sales, promotion, spice export<br />
and import. As for the associate membership, it is open<br />
to associations who do not have voting power but are<br />
eligible to contribute inputs to the issues discussed.<br />
Request for new memberships for either full or<br />
associate membership must be approved by the existing<br />
members. There is no fee imposed to become a member.<br />

IOSTA’s secretariat is located in the office of<br />
American Spice Trade Association or better known<br />
as ASTA. The secretariat is responsible to handle<br />
correspondences, IOSTA routine works, disseminate<br />
information among its members and coordinating<br />
meetings. The chairmanship is rotated among its<br />
members every two years. Meetings are held biennially<br />
or when necessary and if possible, concurrent with<br />
other spice events such as IPC and ASTA meetings, etc.
TRANSFER OF<br />
TECHNOLOGY SESSION<br />
- Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake -<br />
Layer cake or Kek Lapis, which is a famously known local food product from Sarawak, comes in various forms,<br />
designs and even flavours. It can easily be purchased from local cake houses not just in Sarawak but also in West Malaysia.<br />
The layer cake industry especially in Sarawak is quite saturated as the product is sold abundantly at tourist spots at<br />
attractive prices. Nevertheless, in order to survive the stiff competition in the local layer cake market, manufacturers<br />
themselves must be bold and creative in diversifying their product range as to provide more options to the ever-changing<br />
customers.<br />
MPB’s Product Development Unit held a Transfer of Technology (TOT) session on 24 May <strong>2011</strong> as requested by<br />
Diwannie Cake House on the making of “Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake”. The product itself was suggested by Diwannie<br />
Cake House Sales Manager, Muhamad Halil bin Abdul Manaf to Malaysian Pepper Board during MICCOS 2009 whereby<br />
MPB Product Development Unit was given the task to jump-start the development of the mentioned product. The main<br />
objectives of the session are to transfer the product know-how to Diwannie Cake House and to promote the usage of<br />
pepper in food products apart from its seasoning application.<br />
Diwannie Cake House represented by Mr. Muhamad Halil bin Abd. Manaf and Mdm. Zoraidah bt. Haji Leen were<br />
briefed on the main ingredients of the Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake. Thereafter, Mdm. Jacqueline Wenceslaus of MPB<br />
demonstrated the making of the product starting from mixing and layering of the cake before steaming or baking. Steaming<br />
or baking of the pepper flavoured layer cake is to provide an option to Diwannie Cake House on the varieties of process<br />
that suits their customers’ taste. Diwannie Cake House admitted that even though they were more familiar with the taste<br />
of layer cakes produced by steaming process, they agreed with MPB’s Product Development Unit that the baked pepper<br />
flavoured layer cake produces better taste and aroma. Nevertheless, both sides further commented that both types of cake<br />
(steaming and baking process) can still be further improved by adding other cooling flavours such as mint, etc.<br />
Discussion on the product was also focused on the product costing and raw material availability such as the dehydrated<br />
green pepper which is the main flavour of the cake. Diwannie Cake House was informed that the dehydrated green pepper<br />
powder can be produced by dehydrating green pepper in brine which can be purchased from the main supplier based at<br />
Demak Laut, Sarawak.<br />
As a conclusion, the session was able to transfer the making of the “Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake” to Diwannie Cake<br />
House whereby the product can also be added to their existing list of layer cakes products. Through proper promotional<br />
activities and aggressive marketing by Diwannie Cake House, the “Pepper Flavoured Layer Cake” is expected to be a<br />
major hit among tourists or even locals especially amongst those who prefer savoury cakes.<br />

FROM JANuARY TO JuNE <strong>2011</strong><br />
LOCAL MARKET<br />
The first half of <strong>2011</strong> witnessed a bullish pepper market as supplies were again<br />
difficult to obtain. The black pepper, opening at RM12,150/tonne in early January<br />
soared higher to close at RM13,580/tonne in late <strong>June</strong>. There was a slight decline<br />
in black pepper prices in the middle of February due to lack of interest from overseas<br />
buyers compounded with the Lunar New Year celebration. However, in March, pepper<br />
prices started to increase in tandem with the global market sentiment. This was also<br />
influenced by a good domestic buying support and an increasing demand particularly from<br />
the food processing industries.<br />
For white pepper, the price was registered at RM19,500/tonne in early January. Low<br />
availability of white pepper in the market had pushed the prices up as traders refused to<br />
commit to any contracts at the moment and only released a small quantity to traditional<br />
buyers. The price for white pepper quoted higher at RM22,250/tonne in late <strong>June</strong>. In the first<br />
half of <strong>2011</strong>, Malaysia exported a total of 6,193 tonnes of pepper.<br />
OVERSEAS MARKET<br />
The overseas black pepper market was quiet at the commencement of <strong>2011</strong> coupled with<br />
the Lunar New Year celebration in the main producing countries. India was in the midst of<br />
harvesting and most of its harvest were absorbed for internal consumptions. In March, all<br />
eyes were on the arrival of the Vietnamese new crops. Demand for Vietnam pepper were<br />
seen coming from these main importing countries such as China, Middle East, Far East and<br />
Europe but farmers there were said to be financially strong and were not influenced by the<br />
current situation, thus forced local traders to mark up prices to accumulate stocks. Report<br />
on low stocks in the market due to restricted supply had boosted the prices up in most<br />
origins. In Indonesia, business transacted was relatively limited as market remained inactive<br />
until the new crop arrivals somewhere in July/August. Black pepper market eased in the<br />
middle of May on light trading as most buyers were well covered for their immediate needs.<br />
Others were switching to ‘wait and see’ mode in expectation of further decline in prices.<br />
India, Lampung and Vietnam started to lower down their prices following a lack of demand<br />
from overseas buyers. However, this eased market was only a temporary phenomenon as<br />
speculation on the shortfall in the availability of Indonesia and Sri Lanka’s new crops had<br />
strengthened the pepper market in <strong>June</strong>. Black pepper price opened at US$5,400/tonne<br />
C&F New York in early January and moved steadily upwards to close relatively higher at<br />
US$6,725/tonne C&F New York by the end of <strong>June</strong>.<br />
For white pepper, the opening price was quoted at US$3,650/tonne C&F Rotterdam in early<br />
January and strengthened further to close the first half relatively higher at US$3,900/tonne<br />
C&F Rotterdam. The bullish market was mainly driven by the tight supply position in most<br />
origins and the consistent demand from end users.<br />
MARKET OuTLOOK<br />
With the arrivals of Indonesia new crop in July/August and the onset of Brazil’s new crop in<br />
September/October, pepper market is likely to weaken in the next coming months. Buyers<br />
are again expected to remain on the sidelines and speculating to press the origins for further<br />
decline in prices.<br />

Bersempena dengan Mesyuarat Lembaga MPB Bil. 1 Tahun <strong>2011</strong><br />
yang telah diadakan di Johor Bahru pada 9 - 10 Mac <strong>2011</strong>, satu<br />
lawatan telah dibuat ke kebun lada milik En. Seow Chee Lian di<br />
Bukit Saga, Sg. Rengit, Johor. Lawatan ini telah disertai oleh<br />
pengerusi Lembaga Lada Malaysia (MPB), YB Datuk Alexander<br />
Nanta Linggi, ahli-ahli lembaga pengarah, pengarah-pengarah,<br />
penolong pengarah dan pegawai-pegawai MPB.<br />
Menurut En. Seow Chee Lian, kebun seluas 40 ekar yang diusahakan<br />
oleh beliau telah ditanam dengan 10,000 pokok lada yang terdiri<br />
daripada pelbagai varieti seperti Kuching, Semonggok Perak dan<br />
Semonggok Aman. Beliau mempraktikkan penyelenggaraan tanaman<br />
lada secara organik dan menggunakan pokok hidup seperti pokok<br />
dedap dan Gliricidia sebagai tiang sokongan.<br />
Menurutnya lagi, racun kimia tidak digunakan untuk aktiviti kawalan rumpai, serangga dan penyakit. Beliau<br />
hanya menggunakan produk dan baja organik dalam aktiviti penyelanggaraan kebun. Baja kimia hanya digunakan<br />
sebagai tambahan kepada unsur-unsur Nitrogen (N) dan Potassium (K). Lapan puluh peratus (80%) daripada baja<br />
yang digunakan adalah baja organik. Pengetahuan beliau berkaitan teknik dan kaedah penggunaan baja organik<br />
telah banyak membantu beliau dalam meningkatkan kuantiti dan kualiti hasil tuaian.<br />

Sesi bergambar rombongan lawatan bersama dengan En. Seow.<br />
Bagi melaksanakan kerja-kerja penyelengga-raan kebun, beliau mengupah lima orang pekerja asing dengan<br />
bayaran upah sebanyak RM30.00 sehari. Semasa musim menuai pula, beliau terpaksa mencari pekerja tambahan<br />
seramai sepuluh orang dengan bayaran upah RM1.00/kilogram. Kebanyakan hasil pengeluaran dijual sebagai<br />
lada hijau dengan purata harga RM3.60/kilogram. Lada putih dan lada hitam pula dijual dengan purata harga<br />
RM25.00/kilorgram dan RM 15.00/kilogram masing-masing. Pada tahun 2010, beliau telah berjaya menghasilkan<br />
25 tan lada hijau, 5 tan lada putih dan 4 tan lada hitam.<br />
Hasil pengeluaran lada hijau dijual terus kepada pengeksport di Johor bagi memenuhi permintaan dari negara<br />
India dan Perancis, manakala, lada putih dan lada hitam dijual terus kepada pengiat industri makanan di<br />
Johor. MPB telah menyumbangkan bantuan seperti tangki rendaman, alat-alat pemprosesan lada dan bekalan<br />
infrustruktur ladang seperti pelantar jemuran kepada En.Seow. Bantuan yang disalurkan ini telah membantu dalam<br />
meningkatkan kualiti keluaran lada beliau.<br />
Memandangkan Sarawak merupakan negeri pengeluar terbesar lada, pengerusi MPB berharap agar kaedah dan cara<br />
penanaman lada yang dipraktikkan oleh En.Seow dapat dijadikan panduan kepada pekebun lada di Sarawak agar<br />
pengeluaran lada negara<br />

Bahagian Pembangunan dan<br />
Penyelidikan (R&D) telah diberi<br />
peluang untuk menyampaikan<br />
ceramah dalam program<br />
“Technology Talk”, yang juga<br />
dikenali sebagai “Randau<br />
Technology” sempena Hari<br />
Peladang, Penternak dan Nelayan<br />
(HPPN) <strong>2011</strong> di Bintulu pada 13 - 14<br />
Mac <strong>2011</strong>. Program ini merupakan<br />
satu wahana untuk mengembangkan<br />
dan berkongsi maklumat terkini<br />
mengenai teknologi pertanian dan<br />
industri asas tani oleh agensiagensi<br />
kerajaan kepada masyarakat<br />
setempat. Sebanyak 10 wakil agensi<br />
kerajaan iaitu MPB, MARDI,<br />
MPOB, LKIM, DOA, LGM, LPNM,<br />
JPLS, IADA dan UPM-Bintulu telah<br />
turut serta dalam mempromosikan<br />
teknologi pertanian terkini daripada<br />
agensi masing-masing.<br />

pedas. Kelebihan ini memberikan<br />
hasil yang lebih lumayan jika<br />
dibandingkan dengan varieti<br />
lada yang lain. Di samping itu,<br />
beliau turut menerangkan kaedah<br />
penanaman lada dan kaedah<br />
penyelenggaraan lada yang betul.<br />
Bagi memastikan “Technology<br />
Talk” mendapat sambutan hangat,<br />
brosur telah diedarkan kepada<br />
orang ramai bagi memaklumkan<br />
mengenai tarikh, masa dan lokasi<br />
ceramah lada Semongok Aman<br />
akan diadakan. Ceramah pada 13<br />
Mac <strong>2011</strong> ini telah menghimpunkan<br />
30-40 orang pengunjung yang<br />

Dalam usaha menggalakkan penanaman lada khususnya di kawasan baru<br />
yang berpotensi untuk pengeluaran lada, Lembaga Lada Malaysia (MPB)<br />
telah menganjurkan Kursus Pengeluaran Bahan Tanaman (KPBT) kepada<br />
golongan yang berminat untuk menanam tanaman lada. Skop kursus<br />
merangkumi aspek penanaman lada, tapak semaian, tiang sokongan serta<br />
kos dan pulangan.<br />
Siri pertama kursus tahun <strong>2011</strong> ini telah diadakan di Hotel Meligai Kapit<br />
pada 16 - 18 Mac <strong>2011</strong> dan telah dihadiri oleh 29 orang peserta. Kapit dipilih<br />
sebagai lokasi penganjur kerana kawasan tersebut amat berpontensi untuk<br />
perluasan tanaman lada. Majlis penutupan kursus ini telah disempurnakan<br />
oleh Ketua Pengarah, Encik Grunsin Ayom. Beliau menyeru para peserta<br />
untuk terus menanam dan mengeluarkan lada memandangkan lada<br />
adalah salah satu tanaman yang sesuai untuk membantu meningkatkan<br />
sosioekonomi penduduk di luar bandar.<br />
Susulan permintaan masyarakat setempat destinasi kursus seterusnya adalah<br />
negeri Sabah. Siri kedua kursus ini diadakan di kawasan Matunggong,<br />
Kudat pada 15 - 16 Mei <strong>2011</strong>. Seramai 32 orang peserta yang terdiri<br />
daripada pekebun dan juga pegawai pertanian telah menghadiri kursus ini.<br />
Majlis penutupan dan penyampaian sijil telah disempurnakan oleh Y.B.<br />
Tuan Sarapin Magana, Setiausaha Politik kepada Ketua Menteri merangkap<br />
ADUN N.4 Matunggong. Beliau mengucapkan terima kasih kepada pihak<br />
Kerajaan kerana telah berusaha memperkenalkan tanaman lada, amnya<br />
ke negeri Sabah dan khasnya ke kawasan Matunggong melalui agensi<br />
pelaksananya iaitu Lembaga Lada Malaysia.<br />
Destinasi kedua KPBT di negeri Sabah bagi tahun <strong>2011</strong> diadakan di<br />
Kampung Muhibah Ranau pada 18 - 19 Mei <strong>2011</strong>. KPBT di Ranau mendapat<br />
sambutan yang amat menggalakkan di mana seramai 52 orang peserta telah<br />
menghadiri kursus ini untuk mengetahui potensi dan peluang tanaman<br />
lada. Ranau dipilih sebagai destinasi KPBT kerana bentuk mukabumi dan<br />
keadaan tanahnya yang sesuai untuk menanam lada.<br />
Majlis penutupan dan penyampaian sijil telah disempurnakan oleh Encik<br />
Philip Gaweng, Pengarah Kanan Bahagian Khidmat Pengurusan MPB.<br />
Beliau berkongsi pencapaian masyarakat negeri Sarawak yang telah berjaya<br />
mengusahakan tanaman lada sebagai salah satu sumber ekonomi sejak<br />
sekian lama. Menurut beliau, adalah menjadi tanggungjawab MPB untuk<br />
meluaskan tanaman lada ke negeri Sabah berdasarkan mandat yang telah<br />
diberikan oleh Kerajaan. Encik Andrew Ladat selaku Pegawai Kemajuan<br />
Masyarakat di kawasan Ranau juga mengharapkan kursus seumpama<br />
ini dapat dilaksanakan ke peringkat kampung. Walaupun tanaman lada<br />

merupakan tanaman baru bagi masyarakat negeri Sabah, namun kesungguhan dan keinginan mereka untuk menanam<br />
tanaman ini terpancar daripada kerjasama dan penglibatan mereka semasa sesi latihan amali di tapak kebun dan juga<br />
sesi pertanyaan semasa ceramah. Sebagai perintis dan kesungguhan usaha Kerajaan melalui agensinya Lembaga<br />
Lada Malaysia untuk memperluaskan tanaman lada ke negeri Sabah, setiap peserta telah dibekalkan dengan 50<br />
keratan lada melalui inisiatif pejabat Cawangan Pembangunan Pengeluaran.<br />

KERJASAMA BILATERAL KOMODITI<br />
MALAYSIA-INDONESIA<br />
Mesyuarat Kerjasama Bilateral dalam bidang<br />
komoditi antara Malaysia dan Indonesia diadakan<br />
setiap tahun secara bergilir-gilir. Pada tahun ini,<br />
Kuching telah menjadi tuan rumah bagi Persidangan<br />
Kerjasama Dua Hala Malaysia-Indonesia dalam<br />
bidang Komoditi dari 9 - 13 Mei <strong>2011</strong>. Antara komoditi<br />
yang dibincangkan adalah Kelapa Sawit, Koko, Lada<br />
dan Jathropha.<br />
Mesyuarat Sub Kumpulan Kerja (Sub Working<br />
Group) untuk lada telah diadakan pada 11 Mei <strong>2011</strong>.<br />
Perbincangan dua hala bagi komoditi lada telah<br />
dipengerusikan oleh En. Shamsudin Nor, Setiausaha<br />
Bahagian, Bahagian <strong>Industri</strong> Kemajuan Koko dan<br />
Lada, Kementerian Perusahaan Perladangan dan<br />
Komoditi Malaysia dan dipengerusikan bersama oleh<br />
Ir. Nazaruddin.<br />
Pemuafakatan dalam pelbagai aspek telah dicapai<br />
oleh kedua-dua negara antaranya termasuklah dalam<br />
aspek perkongsian maklumat, pembangunan sumber<br />
manusia, kerjasama dalam isu antarabangsa kawalan
penyakit antara sempadan dan pembangunan produk<br />
lada di kedua-dua buah negara. Turut menghadiri<br />
mesyuarat ini adalah Ketua Pengarah Lembaga Lada<br />
Malaysia (MPB), En. Grunsin Ayom, pengarah serta<br />
pegawaikanan MPB.<br />

membuat kunjungan buat julung kalinya ke Kebun<br />
Contoh Lada yang diusahakan oleh Encik Liew Tet<br />
Chin di Rapak, Sri Aman pada 14 Mei <strong>2011</strong>. Dalam<br />
lawatan tersebut, YBhg. Datin Paduka Nurmala<br />
bersama rombongan yang terdiri daripada Pegawaipegawai<br />
Kanan dari Pejabat Kementerian telah<br />
disambut oleh Ketua Pengarah dan Pegawai-pegawai<br />
Kanan Lembaga Lada Malaysia (MPB) serta Encik<br />
Liew Tet Chin.<br />
Semasa berada di kebun tersebut, beliau telah diberi taklimat mengenai projek Kebun Contoh Lada yang diusahakan<br />
oleh Encik Liew Tet Chin. Kebun Contoh di Rapak, Sri Aman yang telah ditubuhkan pada tahun 2008 merupakan<br />
salah satu daripada 5 kebun contoh yang telah dibangunkan oleh MPB. Kebun Contoh yang turut dibangunkan<br />
adalah Stok di Sarikei, Kampung Rituh di Serian, Seelong Jaya di Senai, Johor dan Pematoh di Betong. Tujuan<br />
mewujudkan Kebun-kebun Contoh tersebut adalah sebagai plot demonstrasi dan pembelajaran serta menjadi<br />
tempat tarikan para pelawat dan pelancong yang ingin melihat suasana sebenar di kebun lada. Pihak MPB telah<br />
memberikan bantuan input pertanian kepada pemilik Kebun Contoh seperti baja, racun, alat pemprosesan lada<br />
beserta stor, tandas dan lain-lain kemudahan.<br />
Kebun Contoh di Rapak, Sri Aman amat terkenal dan telah menerima kunjungan ramai pelancong dari dalam<br />
dan luar negeri. Kebun contoh ini berperanan sebagai pusat sehenti (one-stop center) di mana para pelawat
erpeluang menyaksikan sendiri kebun lada, caracara<br />
penyelenggaraan kebun dan pemprosesan lada<br />
selepas proses penuaian di peringkat kebun. YBhg.<br />
Datin KSU berasa kagum dengan usaha MPB untuk<br />
membantu Encik Liew Tet Chin dalam mempelbagaikan<br />
sumber pendapatan beliau melalui penghasilan dan<br />
pembungkusan produk tambah nilai seperti Lada Putih<br />
Krim, Lada Merah dan sebagainya yang dijual terus<br />
kepada para pengunjung.<br />
Seterusnya, YBhg. Datin Paduka KSU KPPK berangkat<br />
ke Serian untuk kunjungan ke kebun milik Puan Rita<br />
Tamot di Kampung Daha Kisau. Ketibaan rombongan<br />
KSU KPPK disambut oleh Pegawai-pegawai Kanan<br />

taklimat juga telah diadakan untuk memberi penerangan<br />
mengenai kebun yang diusahakan oleh Puan Rita Tamot<br />
yang kemudiannya diikuti dengan sesi dialog bersama<br />
penduduk setempat.<br />
Puan Rita Tamot mula menanam lada pada tahun 1997<br />
dan kini telah mempunyai 1,800 pokok lada matang<br />
yang memberikan hasil yang lumayan. Di samping<br />
itu, beliau juga mengusahakan tanaman koko dan<br />
kelapa sawit selain bergiat aktif dalam pembelian lada<br />
daripada penduduk di kawasan tersebut. Pada tahun<br />
2010, kebun lada Puan Rita yang mencatatkan rekod<br />
jualan lada sebanyak 34.07 tan dengan nilai berjumlah<br />
RM387,241.35 telah disenaraikan dalam Program<br />
Usahawan Angkat oleh MPB. YBhg. Datin Paduka Nurmala merakamkan rasa bangga di atas kejayaan ibu tunggal<br />
seperti Puan Rita Tamot yang telah diangkat menjadi salah seorang pekebun dan usahawan yang berjaya.<br />
YBhg. Datin Paduka KSU KPPK juga tidak melepaskan peluang untuk meninjau keadaan di kebun milik Puan Rita<br />
Tamot. Beliau berpuashati dengan penyelenggaraan kebun tersebut dan berbangga dengan usaha serta inisiatif<br />
yang diambil oleh MPB dalam membantu para pekebun lada. Lawatan tersebut tamat pada pukul 5.00 petang<br />
dengan keberangkatan KSU KPPK serta rombongan.

Seterusnya, rombongan KSU dibawa pula untuk<br />
melawat kebun lada yang dimiliki oleh Onego Sdn, Bhd<br />
di Bio-Valley, Desaru. Kebun lada yang diwujudkan<br />
tersebut merupakan salah satu daripada komponen<br />
dalam Program Perluasan Tanaman Lada. Penerangan<br />
mengenai projek tersebut telah disampaikan oleh Puan<br />
Florence Sanjan, Pengarah Bahagian Pembangunan<br />
Pengeluaran dan Usahawan Tani.<br />

The International Pepper Community in close cooperation with the Directorate General of International Trade<br />
Cooperation, Ministry of Trade, Government of Indonesia will be organizing the 39th Session & Meetings of IPC<br />
at the Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort, Senggigi Beach, Lombok Island, Indonesia from 22nd – 26th November<br />
