11th Puerto Rico Freefall Festival<br />

Organizers Viviana De Jesus and Jason Gonzalez kicked off The 11th Puerto Rico freefall festival<br />

with lots of sunshine, warm weather, and sometimes high winds. Air power was once again<br />

supplied by skydive Chicago, to include their two super otters. Daily jumps to 21,000 feet were<br />

offered once again for those wanting a better view of the island. Pilots Rook Nelson and Tom<br />

Johnston kept jumpers in the air straight into sunset, finishing off with our daily sunset beach<br />

jumps - which are always met with a big cooler of the local sponsors beer, Medalla. Trolleys<br />

provided by mayor Carlos Molina of the Arecibo municipality, kept transportation between<br />

the dropzone and the airport, quick and efficient. Key sponsor, The Puerto Rico Tourism<br />

Company and Energy Answers, also provided boogie support. It's hard to pin down any one<br />

party at the boogie as a favorite, they all have their own unique vibe - wether it be the welcoming<br />

party at local restaurant and sponsor Salitre on wednesday, with the now long standing<br />

tradition of the well recieved dancing girls, or visits to local dive and sponsor, Picholos.Or the<br />

low key atmosphere of the rooftop bar at the Rosa Del Mar on Thursday. But without a doubt,<br />

two difinite favorites are the Friday night Rums of Puerto Rico party at the airport, where rum<br />

is served by the gallons in a variety of flavors, and the Saturday night beach party at Gasolina
