competitions and a strong technological development. The brand from Padua has a glorious past and its 

ambitious aim now is to re-conquest the hearts of thousands bikers.

messe a disposizione dalle migliori industrie del settore. 

Il telaio monoscocca della Celeste viene realizzato a zone differenziate con spessori variabili in maniera 

da offrire una resistenza torsionale e flessionale elevatissima in ogni condizione di utilizzo. 

Il tipo di carbonio utilizzato è il Toray T300 12K lavorato in più strati ad alto modulo. Il procedimento 

costruttivo prevede una stratificazione dei tessuti di carbonio con resine epossidiche le quali conferiscono 

alle fibre la migliore trasferibilità di carico possibile. La fase di polimerizzazione infine ne garantisce la 

rigidità torsionale e la resistenza agli urti.

different thicknesses to offer the best torsional and mechanical resistance in every use condition.

design e per la componentistica ricercata. Il titanio offre qualità meccaniche straordinarie, una leggerezza 

tangibile dovuta alla bassa densità del materiale e una considerevole resistenza alle sollecitazioni. 

Un materiale difficile da lavorare per la complessità delle saldature ma che sa dare grosse soddisfazioni 

in termini di comfort (più elevato rispetto ad un telaio in alluminio) e di longevità del telaio.

Titanium offers extraordinary mechanical qualities, very light weight and a strong resistance. 

The material is difficult to work because of the complexity of the welding, but it gives big comfort (much 

higher than an aluminium frame) and it’s very long lasting.

Krabon è il telaio di punta in alluminio con carro e forcella in carbonio di Torpado. 

Per i propri telai da corsa in alluminio ha scelto tubazioni di estrema leggerezza e elevata resistenza meccanica. 

Il tipo di alluminio utilizzato è il 7005 heat treated mentre il carro posteriore è un monobox carbonio 

stratificato 3K lavorato ad alto modulo. 

Krabon is Torpado best Alloy frame with Carbon back stays Mono Box and Carbon front fork. For this 

frame we use very light tubes in heat treated aluminium 7005, and 3K Carbon for the Mono Box and front 

fork.

Un viaggio alla scoperta di una realtà dove lo sviluppo economico e industriale

cultura sensibile al tema dell’ecologia e del rispetto delle persone.

had a low impact on the natural landscape. Holland is the first 

European Country for the bikes quantity related to the population: here 

the bike is a real mean of transport, here the bike belongs to a culture

Un gran bella pedalata… 

1^ Tappa: Amsterdam-Hoorn (73,100 km). Da Amsterdam ci siamo diretti 

verso Marken, senza dubbio uno tra i paesini più belli che abbiamo incontrato, 

tanto da meritare una seconda visita alla fine del viaggio. Abbiamo 

proseguito in direzione Edam (patria dei formaggi ... e dei panini al formaggio 

che consigliamo!) e poi di nuovo in sella per percorrere gli ultimi 19 km 

che ci hanno portato ad Hoorn. 

2^ Tappa: Hoorn-Den Helder (111,600 km). La giornata prevede una tappina 

niente male che si svolge per la maggior parte lungo la diga che contiene 

l'Olanda ed in piccola parte attraverso un bosco su buon sentiero 

sterrato. Lungo il percorso abbiamo attraversato Den Over un piccolo paesino 

da cui si può vedere la grande strada che attraversa 26 km di mare. 

Il campeggio di Den Helder si trova fuori citta' in direzione sud, discreto ed 

abbastanza vicino ad un romantico ristorantino... 

3^ Tappa: Den Helder- Isola di Texel (54,00 km + traghettamento). Dal 

porto di Den Helder ci siamo imbarcati per raggiungere l'isola di Texel 

(isola del vento) e non appena toccato suolo abbiamo scoperto perchè si 

chiami così. Nonostante il vento, che anche per voi sarà nemico, vale la 

pena visitare i bei paesaggi dell'isola, attraversando il piccolo paesino di 

Den Burg, De Kong caratteristica località turistica e il piccolo porto di 

Oudeschild. 

Olanda: senza dubbio 

il paradiso di tutti i cicloturisti. 

Immaginate un paese dove il numero delle biciclette supera 

quello di ogni altro mezzo di locomozione, dove esiste una rete 

stradale esclusivamente dedicata alle due ruote, dove gli automobilisti 

hanno più rispetto per i ciclisti che per i pedoni, dove si 

pedala tra campi di tulipani e mulini a vento... come in un paesaggio 

fiabesco! 

Holland: the Paradise 

for all bike tourists. 

Try to imagine a Country where the number of the bikes exceeds 

any other mean of transport, where there is a road net 

exclusively for the bicycles, where car drivers respect bikes 

more than pedestrians, where you can ride among tulips fields 

and wind mills... like in a fairy tale village. 

A very nice ride… 

1^ Leg: Amsterdam-Hoorn (km.73,100). We 

left Amsterdam and went to Marken, one of 

the most beautiful village we ever saw, and 

we decided to visit it again at the end of the 

journey. We went on towards Edam (the 

Land of cheese…and of the many cheese 

sandwiches that we suggest you) and then 

again onto the saddle to ride the last km.19 

to reach Hoorn. 

2^ Leg: Hoorn-Den Helder (km.111,60). We 

run the main part of the leg along a dam that 

contains the Netherlands and a small part 

throughout a wood on a dirt road. Along the 

ride we went through Den Over, a small village 

from which we could see the big road 

across the sea. Den Helder camping is just 

out of the city, in the South part, it is comfortable 

and very close to a romantic restaurant. 

3^ Leg: Den Helder – Texel Island (km. 54 + 

ferryboat) We caught the ferryboat from Den 

Helder port to reach Texel Island (the windy 

island) and as soon as we got off we understood 

the reason of the name! 

Notwithstanding the wind, you can see the 

nice landscapes of Den Burg, De Kong and 

the small Oudeschild port.

la natura incontaminata 

La cima dell’Everest fu raggiunta per prima volta il 29 maggio 

1953 dal Neozelandese Sir Edmund Hillary e dallo Sherpa 

Tenzing Norgay che lo scalarono dalla parete sud. Non è stato 

appurato se George Mallory, che ebbe un incidente mortale 

nella scalata del 1924, raggiunse la cima prima di morire. L'8 

maggio 1978 Reinhold Messner e Peter Habeler raggiunsero 

per primi la cima senza l'ausilio di ossigeno.

Il telaio monoscocca carbonio della T30 viene realizzato a zone differenziate con spessori variabili in maniera da offrire 

una resistenza torsionale e meccanica elevatissima in ogni condizione di utilizzo in fuoristrada. 

Torpado ha utilizzato carbonio 12K a pelli preimpregnate. Il procedimento costruttivo prevede una stratificazione dei 

tessuti di carbonio con resine epossidiche le quali determinano la resistenza del telaio. La fase di polimerizzazione 

contribuisce a garantire la rigidità torsionale e la resistenza agli urti in ogni condizione di utilizzo. 

Monocoque T30 frame is made of carbon 12K pre-preg skins, with variable thicknesses in order to give a better 

torsion resistance in any off-road use. 

During the production process the carbon skins are glued with epoxy resins, then the polymerisation grants rigidity 

and resistance.

Il telaio della T20, il cui peso è di 1200 gr. è stato studiato dal centro ricerche e sviluppo Torpado ed è 

realizzato in alluminio E1 ultralight. L'E1 è una lega di alluminio che si caratterizza per una elevata resistenza 

(UTS=510 MPa-Mega Pascal) e che conferisce al telaio una grande capacità di assorbimento 

delle sollecitazioni. La grande "tensile strenght" del telaio T20 inoltre è garantita dalla struttura del telaio 

a spessore variabile che è stato irrigidito nelle zone critiche di maggiore affaticamento. 

The T20 frame has been studied by Torpado R&D department. It is in E1 ultralight aluminium and the 

weight is gr. 1200. The E1 is an alloy with a high resistance (UTS=510MPa-Mega Pascal) that allows the 

frame to absorb better any sollicitation. 

The T20 frame big tensile strenght is granted by the triple butted structure. The frame is in fact harder in 

the critical zones of greater fatigue.

Tourpado... 

e le domeniche ecologiche 

L’entusiasmo che abbiamo raccolto dalle oltre 600 persone intervenute alla “biciclettata” organizzata in collaborazione con 

la FIAB di Brescia lo scorso 22 aprile, ci ha spinti a ripetere l’esperimento riuscito in scala nazionale. Il progetto non a caso 

si intitola “TOURPADO” perché si propone come un “tour” itinerante che coinvolgerà di volta in volta le associazioni cicli- 

stiche, le APT locali e tutte quelle iniziative socio-culturali volte ad incentivare l’uso della bici come mezzo socializzante ed 

ecologico di trasporto. L’obiettivo di Torpado è di coinvolgere in particolare le famiglie a partecipare per un’occasione di 

stare insieme, per una pedalata tra amici alla scoperta di percorsi cicloturistici nelle regioni d’Italia. 

I ciclisti, secondo noi, dovrebbero riappropriarsi delle strade, che sono sempre state degli “spazi pubblici” a servizio della 

comunità, per organizzare manifestazioni sportive, per incontrarsi, confrontarsi e socializzare, dei luoghi che ci permetta- 

no non solo di spostarci, ma anche di crescere. 

The enthusiasm got from more than 600 people who took part to the “ride” organised in co-operation with FIAB, Brescia, 

on last 22nd April, pushed us to repeat the experiment, successful in national scale. The project name is not for a case 

“TOURPADO” because if has been introduced as a “tour” that will involve time by time the cycle associations, the local APT 

(agencies for the tourism promotion) and all the events that stimulate the use of the bike as an ecological mean of tran- 

sport. Torpado aim is to involve especially the families to take part to those initiatives, to take the opportunity to stay toge- 

ther for a ride with friends and discover many tours around the Italian regions. Bikers, in our opinion, have to take back the 

streets, that are public areas not only for moving but for meeting and growing up 

“Tourpado”:

Un’idea che nasce dalla volontà di aggregare le persone di ogni 

età che utilizzano la bici come mezzo di trasporto e come mezzo 

di libertà, persone che vogliono vivere i favolosi percorsi ciclabili

Per affrontare al meglio le insidie della “city” Torpado ha messo a punto un mezzo dotato di tutti gli accessori necessari 

e caratterizzato da un telaio in alluminio molto leggero e resistente. La T400 è una bici che si presenta con una 

versatile forcella anteriore ammortizzata, un cambio Shimano DEORE LX a 27 velocità, per superare ogni salita, un 

sistema di illuminazione integrata nel mozzo ruota, per non affaticare la pedalata, una confortevole sella Royal 

Lookin, un versatile portapacchi, dei comodi paraspruzzi in caso di pioggia. Il manubrio inoltre è regolabile in diverse 

posizioni per adattarsi ai vari stili di pedalata. 

Torpado created a new bike in order to face better the dangers of the “CITY” , with all the necessary accessories with 

an alloy frame, really light and resistant. T400 is a bike with a versatile suspended front fork, shifter SHIMANO 

DEORE LX 27 speeds, to be able to climb up each slope, an integrated lightning system in the wheel hubs , in 

order not to make the ride heavier, a comfortable saddle Royal Lookin, a versatile carrier and comfortable spoilers 

in case of rain. Moreover handlebar could be regulated in different positions in order to suit to the different style of 

ride.

Amsterdam? 

Al mattino, la colazione tipica olandese comprende pane fresco 

con burro e marmellata, prosciutto e dolci con cannella, 

zenzero e chiodi di garofano, il tutto accompagnato da quantità 

industriali di tè o caffè. Intorno alle 10.30, c'è Il rito della 

pausa caffè. Si osserva dappertutto: a scuola, in ufficio, nei 

negozi, a casa e soprattutto nei bruin café ("caffè marroni"). 

Questi locali prendono il nome dai muri anneriti dal tempo e dal 

tabacco, e sono tipici e accoglienti: qui gli olandesi si ritrovano 

a chiacchierare, a leggere il giornale, a passare il tempo. È 

facile sedersi al tavolo con loro e fare nuove conoscenze. Se 

non volete il caffè nero, chiedete il koffie verkeerd, letteralmente 

caffè malfatto, cioè macchiato con latte. 

Breakfast in Amsterdam? 

The typical Dutch breakfast is fresh bread with butter and mar- 

malade, ham and cake with cinnamon, ginger and clove everything 

with a bulk q. ty of coffee or tea. 

Around 10.30 you have coffee break. It ‘s everywhere: at school, 

at the office, in a shop, at home and above all in the Bruin 

Cafè. These places take the name from the blacken walls caused 

from the smoke of tobacco and are very typical and comfortable: 

the Dutch people meet there and spend their 

free time chating and reading the newspaper . 

It is easy to sit down with them and meet new people. 

If you do not want the black coffee you can ask for the verkeerd, 

literal translation “bad done”, that is coffee with milk.

Di fianco alla Koningsplein, sul Singel, c’è il mercato permanente dei fiori. Dal 1600, su chiatte ancorate al canale, 15 bancarelle 

espongono una moltitudine di fiori recisi, arbusti ornamentali e piante in ottima salute, in una festa per gli occhi e il 

naso. Oltre ai famosi tulipani olandesi, ad un prezzo leggermente più basso rispetto ai fiorai della città, qui trovate tutto il 

necessario per il giardinaggio e i fioristi sono molto competenti: vi sanno consigliare sulle piante che attecchiscono meglio 

e su quelle da esportare. Il mercato è aperto tutti i giorni, dalle 8 di mattina alle 8 di sera.

Near to the Konigsplein, in the Sinigel, there is the permanent flower market. 

Since 1600, 15 stalls show their great number of cut flowers, ornamental plants in good health, a joy for the eye and nose. 

Besides the famous Dutch tulip you can also find all the necessary products for garden at competitive and lower price than 

the florists of the center. People there, are very qualified and can suggest you on the plants which better take root and the 

one which must be exported. The market is open every day , from 8 in the morning till 8 in the evening.

di vita” 

Una coppia di giovani che hanno fatto una scelta 

di vita radicale: rinunciare all’auto e preferire la bici 

come mezzo di trasporto. Quasi tutto l’anno riescono 

a sfruttare la versatilità delle loro citybike, grazie 

anche alle innumerevoli piste ciclabili del paese dei 

fiori, per andare al lavoro o nel week end per fare 

del cicloturismo a breve raggio. Una testimonianza 

che dovrebbe farci riflettere: per chi si è abituato ad 

uno stile di vita sedentario dettato dai ritmi frenetici, 

la bici diventa la giusta alternativa essendo più ecologica, 

più economica e più sana.

a life choice” 

A young couple who made a radical life choice: giving up 

to the car and preferring the bike as a mean of transport. 

They are able to ride most of the year with their city bike, 

thanks to the cycling track in the flower town too, they go 

to work or out for the weekend for short distance of 

cycling tourism. 

A witness that must let us think about: for who is used to 

a sedentary life, bike becomes the right alternative solution 

being more ecological, cheaper and healthier.

Pensare ad un futuro 

migliore per loro 

Helen ha 14 anni ed è figlia di una coppia di biologi Olandesi. 

Fin da piccola il suo rapporto con la natura è stato molto particolare 

e stretto. “A 7 anni mi ricordo che mio padre mi ha sgridato in 

un modo che all’epoca non riuscivo a capire, solo perchè avevo 

gettato una bottiglietta di plastica in acqua per giocare durante 

una gita al lago. Con pazienza poi mi spiegò con parole semplici 

come funziona l’ecosistema, non pensavo potesse essere così 

delicato! Adesso capisco che i piccoli gesti e le cose che sembrano 

insignificanti, vanno a contribuire a mantenere inalterato il delicato 

sistema dell’eco-equilibrio del nostro Pianeta”

Since she was young her relationship with nature was very close

“I remember when I was 7, my father scolded me in a way that I 

was not able to understand , only because I threw away a plastic 

bottle during a trip to the lake. 

Later with patience he explained me with simple words how the 

eco system works. 

I did not know that it could be so fragile!!! Now I understand how 

the small things which seems insignificant, could help to keep 

unchanged the environmental balance of our planet”. 

Il futuro appartiene alle nuove generazioni e non si può pensare di lasciare loro la responsabilità di un Pianeta su cui sarà 

difficile sopravvivere. L’inquinamento, la fame, l’energia, le malattie sono solo alcuni dei mali che affliggono il Pianeta. 

Non saremo certo noi a risolverli tutti, però bisogna capire che se tutti cominciassimo a pensare ed agire in modo più sen- 

sibile rispetto a queste problematiche, forse le future generazioni ne potranno beneficiare. 

Future belongs to the new generations and cannot think to leave the responsibility of a planet in which will be difficult to 

survive. Environmental pollution, hungry, and sicknesses are only some of the troubles which will afflict our planet. 

We will not surely solve all of them, but we must understand that if all of us begin to act with more respect towards this kind 

of troubles, maybe the future generations will benefit of it.
