AN IDEA IN TIME... 

The company was founded back in 1974, based on a revolutionary foldable and functional 

serving trolley, created by the company founder, Giancarlo Pezzani, a creative 

designer and entrepreneur of the sector. A product so innovative and successful, the 

Speedy trolley deserved the establishment of a new company, which was then named 

after the trolley itself: Speedy. The Speedy trolley, a synthesis of functional character and 

innovation – even though the original trolley is no longer in production – it does represent 

the base of the company’s philosophy: “to create state-of-the-art articles, of innovative 

design, with the taste and ability that only a highly talented artisan can achieve.” 

The success of this item was immediate and the Company expanded in the field of gift 

articles by also adding to its production line tea-trolleys and trays made of high quality 

steel and glass. New sales were directed to foreign markets, in particular to Europe, the 

Middle East and Mediterranean area, which historically are markets keen on products of 

Italian design. 

As of 1992 Giancarlo Pezzani’s sons Massimo, Cristiano and Giovanni take the place 

of the founder in the Company management and decide to expand and develop the 

trade in the furniture field. Thus is born the Disegno Collection, a collection consisting 

of pieces of furniture such as kitchen carts, PC racks and entryway furniture. We have 

created items of innovative design obtained by the harmonic synthesis of unique materials 

such as steel, glass and solid wood. These items were conceived combining our 

experience and craftsmanship expertise with the most advanced technologies, synthesis 

of high quality products and original ideas which also derive from the collaboration with 

external designers. 

In the last 5 years we have integrated the offered items in a systematic way, introducing 

objects for a medium-high market: the creation of Operha Collection, with its solid wood 

frames with precious silver or gold leaf finishing that, along with other classical art references 

and appeal, meet with the most innovative and modern design to create elegant 

and sophisticated furnishing. Each single item of this collection represents the best of 

“made in Italy” and is obtained by blending together precious material as lacquered 

wood in fashionable colors, multicolor decorated glasses and steel. 

The “Colorfull” collection followed this one with unique and inimitable items which can 

astonish the customers, the most exigent too with their original shake and up-to-date 

colors, realized with new material as aluminium, stain-less steel and veneered wood. 

As the Company continues to grow and evolve, we no longer identify with its original 

name. For this reason, to better reflect who we have become, the Management in 

2011 has decided to change its brand from Speedy into PEZZANI Home collection. The 

new brand name, which directly makes use of the Pezzani family name, the Company 

founder and owner, will better identify itself as an Italian design company and makes 

reference to the trading field in a more direct way. A daring marketing decision that we 

believe will produce even greater results going forward in the future, and truly reflecting 

the transformation that the Company has undergone during its history. 

UNA IDEA NEL TEMPO... 

La società nasce nel 1974 dal progetto di un carrello chiudibile rivoluzionario e 

molto funzionale, creato dal fondatore Giancarlo Pezzani, designer creativo e 

imprenditore del settore. Un prodotto così innovativo e di successo, che ha meritato 

la costituzione di una nuova azienda, a cui venne attribuito il nome del carrello 

stesso: Speedy. Il carrello Speedy, sintesi di funzionalità e innovazione, - anche se 

non é più in produzione da tempo - rappresenta la base della filosofia della società: 

“Creare oggetti unici, dal design innovativo, con il gusto e l’abilità che solo un 

artigiano di talento può acquisire.” 

Il successo del prodotto fu immediato e l’azienda si sviluppò velocemente nel settore 

articoli da regalo aggiungendo alla produzione carrelli di servizio e vassoi di altissima 

qualità. Le vendite si indirizzarono verso i mercati esteri ed in particolare Europa, 

Medio oriente e bacino del Mediterraneo, mercati da sempre alla ricerca di prodotti 

qualificati del design italiano. 

Nel 1992 i figli di Giancarlo Pezzani, Massimo, Cristiano e Giovanni, subentrarono 

alla guida dell’azienda e decisero di sviluppare il business nel settore mobili. Nacque 

così la collezione Disegno, una collezione di piccoli pezzi d’arredamento, fra i quali 

carrelli cucina, porta-computer e le composizioni per la zona ingresso. Vengono così 

creati oggetti dal design innovativo caratterizzati dall’accostamento armonico di materiali 

come l’acciaio, il vetro ed il vero legno. Oggetti che nascono dall’esperienza 

e dalle capacità artigianali, ma realizzati con l’utilizzo delle più avanzate tecnologie, 

sintesi di altissima qualità e idee originali che provengono anche dalla collaborazione 

con designers esterni. 

Negli ultimi cinque anni l’offerta proposta è stata integrata a ritmo incessante e 

l’obiettivo si è spostato al segmento medio-alto del mercato con la creazione della 

collezione Operha, dove preziose cornici in legno con finitura foglia oro o argento 

ed altri richiami alle forme classiche, sposano il design più innovativo per creare un 

arredo elegante e sofisticato. Ogni singolo oggetto della collezione Operha rappresenta 

il meglio del “made in Italy” ed è ottenuto combinando sapientemente materiali 

pregiati come il legno laccato nei colori di tendenza, vetri decorati multicolore 

e l’acciaio. 

Ad Operha è seguita la collezione i Colorati: oggetti unici ed inimitabili in grado di 

stupire anche il pubblico più esigente con forme originali e colori alla moda, realizzati 

con l’introduzione di nuovi materiali come l’alluminio, l’acciaio inox ed il legno 

impiallacciato. 

L’evoluzione aziendale è stata tale negli ultimi anni, da far si che il nome originario 

Speedy non rispecchiasse più le caratteristiche della produzione attuale; pertanto il 

gruppo dirigente nel 2011 ha deciso di cambiare il proprio brand con la denominazione 

“PEZZANI Home collection” . Il nuovo marchio che deriva dal nome della 

famiglia Pezzani, fondatori e proprietari dell’azienda, rafforza l’immagine di fabbricante 

italiano di prodotti dal design innovativo, con l’aggiunta di un riferimento 

esplicito al settore di appartenenza. Una scelta di marketing coraggiosa che aiuterà 

l’azienda nel percorso di crescita e riflette la trasformazione della stessa nel tempo.
