A nome dell’amministrazione comunale, delle cittadine e
dei cittadini di Riva del Garda porgo il più cordiale benvenuto
a tutte le coriste e a tutti i coristi partecipanti a questa
edizione 2010 del CONCORSO CORALE INTERNAZIONALE.
Ancora una volta animate la nostra città nel periodo
pasquale, che – per noi – è il momento di avvio della lunga
stagione turistica sul lago di Garda: rappresentate, quindi,
un segno di primavera. Saluto le direttrici e i direttori, che
hanno preparato i cori per il concorso.
A tutti i cori, poi, il mio augurio per le varie esibizioni e per
un buon successo.
Chiedo a tutti i partecipanti di testimoniare, in questa
splendida occasione di incontro, quanto sia bello stare
insieme serenamente: quanto sia importante convivere
rispettandoci, quanto sia importante conoscere le nostre
differenze e apprezzarle. La pace fra i popoli può essere
costruita cominciando anche così.
Cantare insieme è, in effetti, un’esperienza straordinaria,
che ci arricchisce anche spiritualmente.

On behalf of the Municipal Administration and of the citizens
of Riva del Garda, I welcome all the chorus singers
participating in this edition 2010 of the RIVA DEL GARDA
INTERNATIONAL CHOIR COMPETITION.
Once again you will animate our town during the Easter
period, which is - for us – the starting moment of the
long tourist season on the Lake Garda: therefore, you are
a sign of spring.
I welcome the directors who prepared the choruses for the
contest. And I give my best wishes to all the choruses for
the different performances and for a big success.
I ask all the participants to show in this wonderful meeting
occasion how beautiful it is to stay together serenely: how
important it is to live together respecting each other, how
important it is to learn our differences and appreciate them.
This can also be the beginning of the realization of the
peace among the peoples.
Singing together is actually an extraordinary experience
which enriches us also spiritually.

L'undicesimo Concorso Corale Internazionale, che la nostra
città ha il piacere di presentare alla comunità rivana,
trentina e al mondo turistico internazionale presente sul
Benaco, è una rinnovata e gioiosa occasione per gustare
le più variegate realtà e dimensioni corali che ci verranno
offerte dai 38 cori presenti a questa edizione pre-pasquale,
cori provenienti da 13 paesi.
Ed è con altrettanto vivo piacere che porgiamo il più cordiale
saluto alle coriste e ai coristi, ai loro maestri ed
accompagnatori ed alla giuria internazionale.
La nostra associazione unitamente ad Interkultur, con il
patrocinio del nostro comune, della Provincia Autonoma di
Trento, della Regione Autonoma Trentino-Alto Adige e della
Federazione dei Cori del Trentino, augurano ai partecipanti
piacevoli giornate di confronto ed un altrettanto lieto soggiorno
a Riva del Garda.
Our town is glad to present the 11 th International Choir
Contest to the community of Riva del Garda, of Trento and
to the international tourist world on the Benaco. This event
is a renewed and joyful occasion to enjoy the most different
chorus realities and dimensions which will be performed
by the 38 choruses from 13 countries participating in this
edition before Easter.
And it is with great pleasure that we welcome all the chorus
singers, their maestros and accompanists as well as the
international jury.
Our Association and Interkultur, sponsored by our Municipality,
the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Autonomous
Region Trentino-Alto Adige and the Federation of the Choruses
of Trento, wish the participants pleasant contest days
and a nice stay in Riva del Garda.

Cari amici,
La città di Riva del Garda, situata sulle rive del suo bellissimo
lago esercita una forte attrazione sui cori di tutto
il mondo. Se non fosse così come si potrebbe speigare il
successo del Concorso Corale Internazionale che porta il
suo nome e di cui quest’anno celebriamo l’undicesima
edizione. A nome di INTERKULTUR sono lieto di darvi il
benvenuto qui a Riva del Garda con l’auspicio che possiate
trascorrevi momenti di emozionante successo. Vorrei anzitutto
esprimere un doveroso ringraziamento a tutti coloro
i quali, infaticabili, si sono dedicati a questo progetto, per
il contributo che hanno saputo dare alla riuscita di questo
successo rendendo questo festival uno tra i più importanti
appuntamenti di INTERKULTUR.
Quest’anno 38 cori si sono dati appuntamento qui a Riva
del Garda per celebrare questa festa della musica in uno
dei più suggestivi angoli del mondo, per ascoltare altri cori,
esibire le proprie capacità e riscuotere il meritato successo.
I protagonisti di questa edizione arrivano quest’anno da ben
13 nazioni: essi non sono qui soltanto per cantare insieme,
ma anche per conoscere e conoscersi, in sintonia con il
nostro ideale: costruire ponti tra nazioni così diverse tra
loro. La disponibilità ad apprendere dalle altre culture ne
presuppone il rispetto e l’accettazione, e a questo scopo
pensiamo che INTERKULTUR abbia dato e dia costantemente
un contributo.
I festival di INTERKULTUR rappresentano il momento di
maggior successo della scena corale mondiale. In questi
vent’anni migliaia di coristi di tutti i continenti hanno
partecipato alle nostre manifestazioni organizzate in tutto
il mondo: Italia, Ungheria, Germania, Israele, Repubblica
Ceca, Stati Uniti d’America, Corea del Sud, Indonesia, Malesia,
Austria, Svezia, Malta e Cina. Nel luglio di quest’anno si
svolgerà a Shaoxing (Cina) la sesta edizione dei World Choir
Games, l’appuntamento più importante in assoluto per la
comunità corale mondiale, per la quale svolge un ruolo
decisivo: pensiamo alla straordinaria opportunità offerta
alla causa della comprensione tra i popoli.
E già siamo proiettati al prossimo traguardo dei World Choir
Games che nel 2012 si svolgeranno per la prima volta negli
Stati Uniti: cori di tutto il mondo ne festeggeranno con noi a
Cincinnati (Ohio) la settima fantastica edizione.
Ma prima lasciamoci incantare dalla primavera qui nell’idilliaca
cornice del lago di Garda, gioiendo di questo momento
in compagnia dei nostri cori arrivati sin qui da tredici paesi
e accompagnateci aiutandoci nella missione di riportare al
centro il valore del rispetto reciproco tra i popoli di tutto il
mondo, traguardo del messaggio di INTERKULTUR.

Dear friends of choir music,
The town of Riva, located here on magnificent Lake Garda,
has a special charm for choirs from all over the world. This
explains the continuing success of the Concorso Corale
Internazionale Riva del Garda, which we celebrate this year
already for the 11 th time.
On behalf of INTERKULTUR I would like to welcome you
very warmly to Riva del Garda and wish you exiting and
successful days. I also would like to thank all the hardworking
helpers, who have contributed their share to the
success of this choir competition and who ensure that our
music festival will become an unforgettable event. This
year 38 choirs have made their way to the 11 th Concorso
Corale Internazionale. What they want in the first place is to
celebrate music at one of the most beautiful places in the
world, listen to other choirs and be successful themselves.
Our choirs come to Italy from 13 countries.
They have come in order to sing together, to make friends
and to "build bridges" between this great variety of the different
nations. And this requires the individual's readiness
to learn about and to respect the culture of other people.
With our INTERKULTUR events we believe to have given and
to give our contribution to this goal.
The INTERKULTUR festival series is the most successful
choral event in the world since more than 20 years. Thousands
of singers from all continents visited our events in
Italy, Hungary, Germany, Israel, Czech Republic, USA, South
Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Austria, Sweden, Malta and
China. In July 2010 the 6 th World Choir Games will be held
in Shaoxing, China. Being the biggest choir competition
in the world, this global event plays a decisive role in the
international community of choirs. We believe that there is
no better way to foster international understanding. And we
already look forward to the next aim: In 2012 the 7 th World
Choir Games for the first time will touch America! In July
2012 singers from all over the world meets in Cincinnati
(Ohio) to celebrate this fantastic feast of music.
But first, be enchanted by the springtime here at the idyllic
Lake Garda. Enjoy the meeting with choirs from so many
countries, help develop mutual respect and understanding
among the peoples, thus following and furthering the ideals
of INTERKULTUR.

Associazione Concorso Corale Internazionale - Riva del Garda
È stata costituita il 17 dicembre 1991 per volontà di un gruppo di appassionati del canto corale che, su invito
dell’allora Sindaco Enzo Bassetti, ha dato vita ad una Associazione di volontariato senza scopo di lucro, ma con
finalità diversificate, sempre nell’ambito corale, quali ad esempio l’organizzazione di concorsi e festival, manifestazioni
di carattere concertistico, corsi di perfezionamento musicale, seminari, laboratori, pubblicazioni e mostre.
Dalla sua fondazione ad oggi si è assunta la responsabilità dell’organizzazione di undici edizioni del Concorso
Corale Internazionale e di otto edizioni del concorso “In... Canto sul Garda” (entrambi a cadenza biennale). L’Associazione
svolge la sua attività con il contributo del Comune di Riva del Garda, della Provincia Autonoma di Trento,
della FENIARCO e della Federazione Cori del Trentino, nonché attraverso l’opera volontaristica di un folto gruppo di
appassionati del canto corale. E’ retta da un consiglio direttivo, alla cui presidenza è stato chiamato il signor Gian
Carlo Boschin e si avvale della consulenza artistica di straordinari personalità del mondo della musica quali il prof.
Giovanni Acciai e il prof. Riccardo Giavina.
The Concorso Corale Internazionale Association of Riva del Garda was founded on 17 th December 1991 by a
group of choral lovers who were asked by the Mayor of the time, Enzo Bassetti, to give life to a non-profit making
organization of volunteers with various aims, always within the choral field, for example organizing competitions,
festivals, musical concerts, masterclasses, seminars, workshops, publications and exhibitions. From its foundation
up until today it has organised eleven editions of the International Choir Competition and eight editions of the
competition “In... Canto sul Garda” (both biennial). The Association carries out its work with contributions from the
Town Council of Riva del Garda, from the Autonomous Province of Trento, from FENIARCO and from the Trentino
Choir Federation, as well as through the voluntary work of a large group of choral lovers.
It is led by a board of directors with Mr Gian Carlo Boschin as President, and it also makes use of the artistic
expertise of Professors Giovanni Acciai and Riccardo Giavina.

Il 1° Concoso Corale di Budapest la cui prima edizione risale al 1988 ha creato una delle più iportanti manifestazioni
culturali in Europa. La serie di festival internazionali di INTERKULTUR, già MUSICA MUNDI, denominazione conosciuta
in tutto il mondo per l’alto livello raggiunto sia sotto il profilo artistico che organizzativo e punto di riferimento
della coralità internazionale che annovera sostenitori in tutto il mondo. Il più grande successo della fondazione
INTERKULTUR, organizzatrice di questi eventi musicali, è l’idea di applicare l’antico ideale olimpico al mondo della
musica corale dalla quale sono nate le olimpiadi corali nel 2000 a Linz (Austria), il cui felice esito è stato bissato
poi ogni due anni, in Corea del Sud (2002), a Brema (Germania) nel 2004, a Xiamen (Cina) nel 2006 ed infine nel
2008 con i World Choir Games di Graz (Austria). Altra pietra miliare raggiunta nella storia di INTERKULTUR è stata
di creare un campionato mondiale per formazioni corali la cui prima edizione si è svolta nel 2009 nella Provincia
di Gyeongnam (Repubblica di Corea) e il cui prossimo appuntamento si terrà nel luglio del 2011 a Graz (Austria).
L’idea
INTERKULTUR è divenuto ormai sinonimo di un concetto artistico unico nel suo genere, poiché ha introdotto una
novità rispetto al passato. Mentre importanti concorsi corali tradizionali sono riservati soltanto a cori appartenenti
a un’élite a livello internazionale, i festival di INTERKULTUR, collocandosi parallelamente alla forma tradizionale,
aprono le porte del confronto artistico a tutti i cori desiderosi di vivere l’esperienza del concorso e del festival in
campo internazionale come momento di crescita. Uno dei valori ai quali il comitato artistico di INTERKULTUR tiene
maggiormente, è che in tutti i concorsi possano trovare spazio sia i migliori gruppi sia la grande varietà di formazioni
corali di tutti i livelli. Questa scelta artistica è stata copiata da numerosi concorsi sorti in questi ultimi anni.
Con l’idea di organizzare i World Choir Games ogni due anni, INTERKULTUR ha trovato la direzione che incoraggia
il movimento corale internazionale verso nuovi impulsi e prospettive.
La funzione pedagogica
Le manifestazioni di INTERKULTUR non sono solamente concorsi e festival internazionali. Momento di grande interesse
per i partecipanti sono le numerose offerte di perfezionamento fondate su una grande competenza artistica
e pedagogica. Durante la fase della consultazione per esempio, i cori hanno la possibilità di lavorare insieme a
giurie internazionali ricevendo opinioni in merito al livello artistico nonché preziosi consigli pedagogico-artistici per
affrontare meglio l’interpretazione del programma scelto. Parallelamente ai concorsi si organizzano inoltre congressi,
seminari per direttori di coro, corsi di perfezionamento, conferenze ed incontri con compositori. I concerti e i canti
a cori uniti dei partecipanti accentuano ancora di più il momento emozionante tipico degli incontri internazionali
di INTERKULTUR.
Il marchio di qualità
Da un ventennio MUSICA MUNDI® rappresenta l’esclusivo marchio di qualità di tutte le manifestazioni di INTER-
KULTUR nel mondo. Sin dal primo festival di INTERKULTUR svoltosi a Budapest nel 1988 il sistema di valutazione
– sul quale si basano tutti i concorsi – è stato perfezionato costantemente. Tutti i concorsi di INTERKULTUR hanno
come comune denominatore la qualità a garanzia della comparabilità rispettando tutti i livelli e fissando standard
nel mondo della musica corale.

I concorsi
Il nuovo concetto di base si rende concreto nella realizzazione di concorsi che offrono più categorie divise per gradi
di difficoltà per tutti i tipi di coro con o senza brani d’obbligo. In essi si vive un’atmosfera unica, in cui si offrono
condizioni di partecipazione vantaggiose, dense occasioni di contatti artistici, interessanti workshops e consultazioni
con esperti prima e dopo la prova in concorso vera e propria. Più di 200 tra esperti e direttori di coro in campo
internazionale garantiscono la competente professionalità che contraddistingue le manifestazioni di INTERKULTUR.
Il sistema di valutazione
La giuria assegna nei concorsi di INTERKULTUR diplomi corrispondenti ai dieci livelli nelle fasce oro, argento e
bronzo ed assegna medaglie d’oro, d’argento o di bronzo.ai World Choir Games e World Choir Championships in
base al particolare sistema di valutazione di MUSICA MUNDI. In ogni categoria si determina un “vincitore” o un
“campione” e ad esibizioni di particolare interesse vengono assegnati premi speciali. Alcuni festival contemplano
la competizione riservata ai vincitori di categoria per l’assegnazione del gran premio al coro migliore, decretato
così vincitore assoluto del concorso.
I luoghi delle manifestazioni
I festival di INTERKULTUR si sono svolti in Austria, Cina, Corea del Sud, Germania, Indonesia, Israele, Italia, Malesia,
Malta, Repubblica Ceca, Svezia, Ungheria e negli USA.
I partecipanti
5.000 cori con più di 250.000 partecipanti provenienti da 100 nazioni hanno preso parte fino ad oggi ai festival di
INTERKULTUR. È interessante notare come più della metà dei partecipanti sia costituita da cori di bambini e cori
giovanili i cui membri hanno meno di 25 anni di età.
• Finalità di sostegno
In virtu’ del suo statuto la Fondazione INTERKULTUR persegue le seguenti attività:
- promuovere festival musicali internazionali il cui scopo è di avvicinare cori di diversi paesi e culture favorendo
la collaborazione internazionale attraverso il rispetto reciproco e contribuire così alla comprensione tra i popoli
- aiutare formazioni corali di bambini e di giovani in particolare provenienti da paesi economicamente arretrati
- favorire l’attività di cori amatoriali, specialmente di giovani, sia a livello locale o internazionale, che dimostrano
costante sviluppo artistico
- sostenere l’impegno di promettenti direttori di coro, musicisti e coristi con l’assegnazione di buoni studio
- sponsorizzare progetti specifici
La partecipazione di molti gruppi alle manifestazioni di INTERKULTUR è stata finanziata in gran parte dalla Fondazione
INTERKULTUR. Grazie alla costante partecipazione numerose formazioni hanno potuto migliorare considerevolmente
il loro livello artistico raggiungendo così una dimensione d’élite internazionale.
Gli aiuti finanziari provengono per la maggior parte da sponsor privati e da quote associative, tasse d’iscrizione e
di partecipazione, donazioni, fondi pubblici di fondi di regioni o comuni che affiancano INTERKULTUR nell’impegno
organizzativo di festival e concorsi.
• European Culture Award
Nel 2006 la Fondazione INTERKULTUR ha ricevuto l’European Culture Award, riconoscimento iniziato da Hans Dietrich
Genscher ed assegnato dal KulturForum Europa, per l’attività svolta in favore della comprensione tra i popoli
e per il rafforzamento di un comune pensiero europeo nella cultura.

… Connecting bridges.
The First International Choir Competition of Budapest, which was launched in 1988, was the start of one of the
largest and most successful series of cultural events in Europe. The name of these novel choir competitions and
festivals, INTERKULTUR, former MUSICA MUNDI Event Series, has meanwhile become known throughout the world
for its high artistic and organisational standards and has become a concept for the choir-orientated public, with
enthusiastic followers all over the world. These events are organized by the non-profit organisation INTERKULTUR
Foundation. The Foundation’s biggest success so far, was to bring the antique Olympic idea to the choral world.
The Choir Olympics 2000 in Linz (Austria) were the start of a Choir Olympic movement, which continued a success
story 2002 in Busan (Korea), 2004 in Bremen (Germany), 2006 in Xiamen (China) and 2008 in Graz (Austria) with
the World Choir Games. Another milestone in the history of INTERKULTUR was to establish a world championship
for choirs. The first World Choir Championships were called into being in 2009 and took place in the Province of
Gyeongnam (Republic of Korea). The next edition will be held in July 2011 in Graz (Austria).
The Idea
Meanwhile INTERKULTUR has become the symbol for a unique artistic idea, which consists of a new interpretation
concerning the execution of choir festivals: In comparison to the meritorious traditional choir competitions, where
only those choirs which belong to the international elite compete, the INTERKULTUR competitions are open for
the first time to all choirs. Choirs from all over the world that are interested in gaining international festival and
competition experience can compare themselves with other choirs according to their level of artistic achievement.
The artistic committee of the foundation places emphasis on the presence of the highest level of choral performers
as well as on the presence of the greatest diversity of choral performers in all competitions. This new type of
competition has been copied by numerous newly launched competitions in the last few years. With the idea to
organize the WCG former Choir Olympics biennial, INTERKULTUR Foundation has opened a door to new impulses
and perspectives for the national and international choral movement.
The Pedagogical Concept
The INTERKULTUR events are not just competitions and international choir festivals, they gain their competence
and lasting effect on its participants more and more by pedagogical offers. In consultation rounds, for example,
the choirs have the chance to work together with the international jury and to get advice on their current level of
achievement, competent pedagogical and artistic information and suggestions as to how to interpret the chosen
piece. In connection with that convention, seminars for conductors, composer portraits and lectures are being
offered at the INTERKULTUR events. Friendship and encounter concerts reinforce this big emotional effect of the
international choir-meetings organized by INTERKULTUR Foundation.
The Quality Seal
For 20 years MUSICA MUNDI® is the exclusive quality seal for all INTERKULTUR events worldwide. Since the first
competition that INTERKULTUR organised 1988 in Budapest the rating system, on which all events are based
upon, has been improved continuously. All INTERKULTUR events have this quality seal in common. It guarantees
comparability among all events and has set standards in the world of choir music.

The Competitions
There are various categories for all choir types and choir levels in different degrees of difficulty, with and without
compulsory pieces. They offer a unique atmosphere, good competitive conditions, intensive artistic contacts, various
consultation programs and workshops, as well as practice opportunities with international performers. More
than 200 experts and leading choirmasters from all over the world guarantee a high level of qualified competence
in all INTERKULTUR events.
Evaluation System
The jury awards golden, silver and bronze diplomas on 10 levels at INTERKULTUR competitions and gold, silver and
bronze medals at the World Choir Games and World Choir Championships, according to a special MUSICA MUNDI
evaluation system. In each category a winner or champion is determined and outstanding achievements are honoured
with special prizes. In some competitions there is a competition of the category winners which determines
the grand prix winner, the overall winner of the competition.
Locations of Festivals and Competitions
So far INTERKULTUR events have been taken place in Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel,
Italy, Malaysia, Malta, People’s Republic of China, Republic of Korea, Sweden and USA.
The Participants
In total, 5.000 choirs with 250.000 active singers from 100 countries have taken part in the INTERKULTUR competitions
up to date. It is interesting to note that over half of the participants have been children and youth of under
25 years of age.
Means of Support
In accordance with its statutes, INTERKULTUR Foundation supports the following activities:
- international music festivals and choir competitions whose goal it is to bring together choirs from different regions
of the world to encourage international collaboration through mutual respect, as well as to contribute to cultural
exchange and understanding among nations
- children‘s and youth choirs, preferably from financially challenged countries
- amateur choirs, either local or international, that show intensive and sustained youth development
- young, talented choirmasters, young musicians and singers (scholarship awards)
- specific sponsorship programmes
Many ensembles have received invitations to other INTERKULTUR events that have been financed to a large degree
by INTERKULTUR Foundation. Through regular participation in the events, quite a number of choirs have been able
to improve their profile remarkably and work their way to the international elite.
Sponsorship funds come mainly from private sponsors, as well as from membership fees, participation fees, direct
and indirect donations, public sponsorship as well as funds of the countries, regions, cities and communities that
are involved as partners in the competitions and festivals.

INTERKULTUR Foundation was awarded the 2006 European Culture Award, called into being by Hans Dietrich
Genscher and presented by KulturForum Europa, for its activities on behalf of understanding between peoples and
furtherance of common European thinking in the field of culture.

e direzione di coro e si è specializzato in paleografia e

Direttore della rivista di didattica e musica corale “La Cartellina”,
ha al suo attivo numerose pubblicazioni e revisioni
di musiche antiche, saggi musicologici, edizioni critiche.
Già direttore della “Corale universitaria di Torino”, del “Coro
del Teatro comunale di Bologna”, del “Polyphoniae studium”
e maestro del “Coro da camera della RAI di Roma”,
è attualmente direttore artistico e musicale dei “Solisti del
madrigale” e del “Collegium vocale nova ars cantandi”. Per
sua iniziativa sono sorti i corsi triennali di perfezionamento
“Roberto Goitre”, dedicati alla direzione di coro e allo studio
dell’interpretazione della musica vocale antica. Collabora
con la RAI, con la Fondazione “Gioacchino Rossini” di
Pesaro, con la Fondazione “Guido d’Arezzo” dell’omonima
città e con l’Istituto Cherubini di Roma. Membro della Commissione
artistica della FENIARCO, è presente nelle giurie
dei più importanti concorsi nazionali e internazionali quali
Arezzo, Gorizia, Tours, Budapest, Vittorio Veneto, Trento,

Ralf Eisenbeiß, nato nel 1952, dopo il conseguimento della
maturità ha studiato pedagogia, filologia germanica ed
educazione musicale alla Scuola Superiore di Pedagogia
di Zwickau diplomandosi nel 1979. Dal 1978 al 1981
ha studiato direzione di coro e d’orchestra alla Scuola
Superiore di Musica Franz Liszt di Weimar. Nel 1987 ha
iniziato l’attività di insegnante di canto corale e direzione
di coro. È stato direttore del Coro della Scuola Superiore di
Pedagogia di Zwickau, con il quale ha conseguito numerosi
premi in concorsi nazionali e internazionali. Nel suo repertorio,
accanto alla letteratura a cappella dei diversi secoli
troviamo anche opere di compositori contemporanei –e
grandi lavori sinfonico corali. È stato docente al seminario
centrale per direttori di coro di Berlino e ha tenuto numerosi
corsi di perfezionamento. É spesso direttore ospite in
patria e all’estero, tra gli altri ha diretto il Coro della Trinity
Western University a Vancouver in Canada. È direttore artistico
del Concorso Corale Internazionale Robert Schumann
di Zwickau, inoltre è membro del Comitato artistico della
Förderverein Interkultur e.V. e di Musica Mundi nonché
direttore artistico dei World Choir Games.
Ralf Eisenbeiß was born in 1952. He studied pedagogy,
German philology and musical education and received his
doctorate in 1979. From 1978 to 1981, he studied choir
and orchestra conducting at the Franz Liszt Conservatory
in Weimar and was appointed professor in 1987. He was
conductor of the renowned Pedagogical University Zwickau
Choir with which he won numerous prizes at national
and international choir competitions with an extensive
repertoire ranging from a cappella literature from different
centuries, modern composers as well as great choral
symphonic works. He was lecturer at the central seminar
for choral conductors in Berlin. He often appears as
guest conductor at home and abroad, i.e., with the choir of
the Trinity Western University in Vancouver (Canada). Ralf
Eisenbeiß is the artistic director of the International Robert
Schumann Choir Competition in Zwickau, and member of
the Artistic Committee of the Interkultur Foundation as well
as artistic director of the World Choir Games.

Gábor Hollerung ha studiato all’Accademia musicale
“F.Liszt”, diplomandosi in direzione di coro e d’orchestra
completando in seguito gli studi ai corsi di perfezionamento
di Eric Ericson, Kurt Masur e László Somogyi. Dal 1989 è
direttore dell’Orchestra Sinfonica Dohnányi Budafok, e dal
1980 è direttore della Società Corale dell’Accademia di
Budapest, con la quale in vent’anni di attività ha vinto in
tutti i più importanti concorsi corali europei tra cui Llangollen
e il Gran Premio al Béla Bartók International Choir
Competition di Debrecen. Dal 2001 è direttore musicale
dell’Ensemble Honvéd. Dal 2002 è primo direttore ospite
della Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra e consulente artistico
della “Philharmonia Singers Tel Aviv”. Nel 1988 a
Budapest ha ideato e fondato un nuovo concorso corale
rivoluzionandone la formula tradizionale e che ha dato
origine alla consolidata serie di festival corali di MUSICA
MUNDI. È uno dei direttori artistici di INTERKULTUR e dei
World Choir Games. Nel 2002 gli è stata conferita la Croce
al Merito della Repubblica d’Ungheria e nel 2004 ha vinto
il Premio Liszt e nel 2006 il premio Jerusalem Prize. Nel
1998 e nel 2008 gli è stato assegnato il premio Artisjus
Hungarian Bureau per i diritti d’autore.
Gábor Hollerung studied choral and orchestral conducting
at the Liszt Academy of Music and attended the master
classes of Eric Ericson, Kurt Masur and László Somogyi. He
has been the principal conductor of the Dohnányi Orchestra
Budafok since 1989 and the conductor of the Budapest
Academic Choral Society since 1980 with which he enjoyed
a unique series of successes by winning first prizes at all
recognized European choir competitions including Llangollen
and the Grand Prix of the Béla Bartók International Choir
Competition in Debrecen (Hungary). In 2001 he became the
music director of the Honvéd Ensemble and in 2002 he
became Chief Guest Conductor of the Jerusalem Symphony
Orchestra and Musical Advisor of the Philharmonia Singers
Tel Aviv. In 1988 he initiated the foundation of choir events
with a revolutionary new artistic concept in Budapest.
A whole family of choral events was born following the
example under the name "MUSICA MUNDI" which includes
also its greatest festival the “Choir Olympics”. Gábor Hollerung
is one of the artistic directors of INTERKULTUR and
of the World Choir Games. In 2002 he was awarded the
Knight-cross Order of the Republic by the President of
the Republic of Hungary and received the Liszt Prize in
2004 and the Jerusalem Prize in 2006. 1998 and 2008
he received the prize of Artisjus Hungarian Bureau for the
Protection of Authors’ Rights.

Dr. Kinga Litowska
Polonia - Poland
La dott.ssa Kinga Litowska si è diplomata in teoria musicale
e composizione all’Accademia di Bydgoszcz dove si
è in seguito perfezionata in direzione corale. Nel 2005 ha
ottenuto il dottorato in arti dal dipartimento di direzione
corale ed educazione musicale. Nel 1999 ha fondato e dal
1999 dirige il coro da camera Astrolabium dell’Istituto di
Scienze Economiche di Torún, formazione cameristica che
annovera una serie di successi tra i quail il gran premio
alla 36ª edizione del Legnica Cantat Festival, il secondo
premio al Festival Corale Internazionale di Neuchatel e
il primo premio nella categoria A1 al Concorso Internazionale
“Venezia in Musica 2007”. Con il suo coro svolge
un’intensa attività concertistica a cappella ed in esibizioni
con accompagnamento musicale., collaborando inoltre con
varie orchestre sinfoniche polacche. Attualmente insegna
alla Scuola Musicale Statale di Torún.
Dr. Kinga Litowska has graduated from the Department of
Music Theory and Composition of the Bydgoszcz Academy
of Music where she also completed Postgraduated Studies
for Choirmasters. In 2005 she received a Doctor of Arts
degree at the Choral Conducting and Music Education
Department. Dr. Kinga Litowska is the co-originator and the
conductor of Astrolabium Chamber Choir of Torún School
of Banking. The choir, which has been under her direction
since its foundation in 1999, has enjoyed a great success
and won several prizes such as the Grand Prix at the 36 th
Legnica Cantat Festival, the 2 nd prize at the International
Choir Festival in Neuchatel and the 1 st prize at the International
Choir Festival & Competition “Venezia in Musica” in
2007 in category A1. So far the Astrolabium activity spreads
across numerous a cappella concerts, vocal instruments
music perfomances as well as collaboration with Polish
symphony orchestras. Dr Litowska is also a teacher at the
State Music School of Torún.

Prof. Tatiana Malysheva
Russia
La professoressa Tatiana Malysheva si è laureata in pedagogia
musicale alla Accademia Musicale di Russia Gnessin
di Mosca dove è titolare della cattedra di direzione di coro
dal 1980 di cui dirige anche il coro accademico. Presso lo
stesso istituto inoltre – ora Accademia Musicale di Mosca
- ha ottenuto nel 1988 il dottorato. Dal 1980 dirige il coro
dell’Opera della stessa Accademia con il quale ha contribuito
alla realizzazione di una decina di produzioni. È
anche direttrice del coro dell’Università di Tecnologia e
Chimica Mendeleev nonché del coro della facoltà di lingue
straniere dell’Università di Mosca, Istituto di Pedagogia.
Con i suoi cori partecipa regolarmente a concorsi nazionali.
È autrice di numerosi articoli e pubblicazioni di natura
didattica e specialistica che vertono su temi di direzione e
canto corale, operistico in particolare. Tatiana Malysheva
organizza seminari e workshops e viene spesso invitata in
eventi corali in qualità di esperta. È membro del direttivo
della Società Musicale di Mosca.
Prof. Tatiana Malysheva graduated at the Gnessin State
Institute of Music Pedagogy (now Music Academy) on the
faculty of choral conducting and she has been taching
at the same institution since 1980. From the Moscow
Music Academy she also earned a doctor’s degree in 1988.
She has lead the Opera Choir of the Music Academy also
since 1980 and she contributed to the preparation of over
ten productions. In addition she leads the choirs of he
Mendeleev Chemical Technological University and of the
Foreign Languages Faculty of the Moscow Pedagogical
University. She regularly participated in national choir competitions
with her ensembles. She has published numerous
articles and didactical papers on choral conducting
and choral singing (opera choir in particular). Prof. Tatiana
Malysheva regularly organises workshops and she is often
invited as an expert to choral events. She is a board member
of the Moscow Music Soceity.

Dr. Vivien Pike
Gran Bretagna – Great Britain
La dott.ssa Pike è direttrice di coro e pedagoga molto
conosciuta. Ha studiato musica al Royal Northern Manchester
College of Music dopo aver intrepreso gli studi
medici. Lei stessa con una lunga esperienza come soprano
solista ha fatto parte della formazione professionistica
BBC Northern Singers. Ha fondato il gruppo the City of
Sheffields Girl’s Choir in 1979 ora Cantores Novaes. Con
i suoi cori ha vinto numerosi premi in concorsi nazionali
ed internazionali tra i quali Vienna, Llangollen e Riva del
Garda effettuando tournée in Italia, Germania, Irlanda,
Finlandia, Estonia, Australia, Canada e negli USA. Viene
spesso invitata a tenere workshops e a far parte delle
giurie in festival nazionali ed internazionali; è stata una
dei 3 membri britannici della giuria alle Olimpiadi Corali di
Linz nel 2000 alle quali hanno partecipato 350 cori da tutto
il mondo. Nel 2005 le è stata conferita la laurea Honoris
Causa dalla Sheffield Hallam University per l’assiduo lavoro
nel campo del canto corale svolto a livello sia nazionale che
internazionale. Recentemente è stata ammessa a far parte
della Royal Society of Arts. È inoltre membro del comitato
di consulenza dell’Association of British Choral Directors.
Dr. Pike is a well known choral conductor and pedagogue.
She began her musical studies at the Royal Manchester
College of Music after previously studying medical science.
She has a wide experience as a soprano soloist and
was a former member of the professional group the BBC
Northern Singers. She formed the City of Sheffields Girl’s
Choir in 1979 now Cantores Novaes. Her choirs have won
many prizes in national and international competitions
in Vienna, Llangollen and Riva del Garda among them.
With her choirs she toured through Italy, Germany, Ireland,
Finland, Estonia, Australia, Canada and USA. She is increasingly
in demand for choral workshops and adjudicates at
festivals both nationally and internationally, she was one
of only three British jury members at the Choir Olympics
in 2000 in Linz where there were 350 choirs from all parts
of the world. She was awarded a Honorary Doctorate by
Sheffield Hallam University in 2005 for her continued work
with singers nationally and internationally, and has recently
been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She
is member of the Advisory Council of the Association of
British Choral Directors.

Hubertus Weimer
Germania - Germany
Hubertus Weimer è nato nel 1960. All’età di 16 anni ha ricevuto
la sua prima formazione in direzione corale presso i
“Limburger Domsingknaben”. Dal 1978 al 1983 ha studiato
alla Scuola Superiore di Musica di Francoforte conseguendo
il diploma in Musica Sacra con specializzazione
in Direzione di coro sotto la guida dei professori Helmuth
Rilling e Wolfgang Schäfer. In seguito ha studiato canto
con il professor Martin Gründler, pianoforte con la professoressa
Gisela Sott ed improvvisazione organistica con
Rolf Schwickert.
Dal 1986 al 1990 ha studiato musicologia, psicologia e
pedagogia musicale all’Università di Giessen.
In qualità di docente ha svolto l’attività didattica presso i
“Limburger Domsingknaben” e al Musikgymnasium Rheinland
Pfalz di Montabaur. Hubertus Weimer dirige con successo
cinque importanti cori maschili ed il coro di bambini
e giovanile di Wallmerod, da lui fondato.
È molto richiesto in Germania e all’estero sia come giurato
che come consulente musicale.
Hubertus Weimer was born in 1960. He graduated in choir

From 1978 to 1983 Hubertus Weimer studied sacred music
at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt/Main. His main subject
was choir conducting under Helmut Rilling and Wolfgang

improvisation with Rolf Schwickert. From 1986 to 1990
Hubertus Weimer studied musicology, psychology and
