MATERIAL DESIGN<br />
Dopo Euroluce 2009, Prandina ha intrapreso un percorso nuovo, orientato<br />
verso oggetti illuminanti pensati con leggerezza estetica e attenzione al dettaglio,<br />
seguendo un pensiero di riduzione formale. Leggerezza, riconoscibilità, versatilità<br />
sono i valori forti di un marchio che non intende il minimalismo come stile.<br />
Forte dell’esperienza maturata dalla valorizzazione espressiva del vetro,<br />
Prandina persegue idee e forme congeniali alla propria filosofia creativa,<br />
anche con <strong>material</strong>i e tecniche esecutive alternative. Materiali semplici<br />
o ad alto contenuto tecnologico, sempre subordinati alla centralità del progetto,<br />
mantengono saldi i criteri formali e funzionali del marchio. Grazie a questa<br />
mediazione tra tradizione e innovazione, la collezione Prandina interpreta bene<br />
non solo gli ambienti domestici, ma anche il contract, dove molti suoi prodotti<br />
possono facilmente essere inseriti in progetti già definiti o sulla base di specifiche<br />
richieste. L’idea è di un habitat contemporaneo, fatto di oggetti semplici,<br />
solidi e duraturi, nel quale il disegno, le proporzioni e i colori raffinati<br />
dei prodotti esprimono bellezza e sobrietà.<br />
After Euroluce 2009, Prandina set out on a new path, oriented towards illuminating<br />
objects <strong>design</strong>ed with aesthetic lightness and attention to detail, following an idea<br />
of formal reduction. Lightness, recognisable objects and versatility are the strong<br />
values of a trademark that does not consider minimalism a style. On the strength<br />
of the experience gained by the expressive valorisation of glass, Prandina pursues<br />
ideas and forms that are congenial to its creative philosophy, even with alternative<br />
<strong>material</strong>s and techniques of production. Simple <strong>material</strong>s or <strong>material</strong>s with a high<br />
content of technology are always subordinate to the centrality of the project,<br />
keeping the formal criteria and functions of the trademark firm.<br />
Thanks to this mediation between tradition and innovation, the Prandina collection<br />
aptly interprets not only domestic environments, but also contracts where many<br />
of its products can be easily included in projects that have already been defined,<br />
or on the basis of specific requests. The idea is one of the contemporary habitat,<br />
made up of simple, solid and long lasting objects, where the <strong>design</strong>,<br />
proportions and refined colours of the products express beauty and sobriety.

Knowing realisation and artisan skill, durability and aesthetic quality, expressed<br />

idea of the glass collection. In its thirty years of business, Prandina has never<br />

of realisation, from hand-blown glass to moulded, curved or glued glass,<br />

A <strong>design</strong> workshop that aims to explore and apply elementary structures to the creation of reusable architectural spaces,<br />
furnishings and lighting objects. The various backgrounds and training of the three young founding partners, coming from<br />
Canada, Hong Kong and Poland with a wealth of studies in architecture and engineering, constitute the ingredients of this<br />
‘creative kitchen’. Bakerygroup proposes a <strong>design</strong> concept based on understanding of the properties of the individual<br />
<strong>material</strong>s and their capacity of structural interaction within the sphere of existing forms.<br />
Alessandro Baldo, Italy<br />
Nasce a Bassano nel 1965. Dopo la maturità artistica presso l’Istituto d’Arte di Nove ha conseguito a Venezia<br />
la laurea in architettura nel 1992. Dal 2001 lavora come professionista indipendente occupandosi di progettazione<br />
urbanistica, architettonica e di disegno industriale e conseguendo diversi premi e riconoscimenti in ambito<br />
nazionale e internazionale. La sua attività è pubblicata nel sito ortho<strong>design</strong>.it.<br />
Alessandro Baldo was born in Bassano in 1965. After obtaining the diploma from the Nove Art School he graduated<br />

Nata a Erlangen nel 1970, Katja si è formata come <strong>design</strong>er industriale studiando a Barcellona, Berlino e Parigi.<br />

Stefano Olivieri, Italy<br />
Nato a Verona nel 1964, laureato in Architettura si occupa di progettazione architettonica e interior <strong>design</strong>,<br />
maturando diverse esperienze anche nel campo dell’industrial <strong>design</strong>. La sua passione per l’arte e l’esperienza<br />
nel settore dei beni culturali gli ha permesso di orientarsi verso una visione progettuale libera da stereotipi<br />
e aperta all’innovazione. Da alcuni anni collabora con l’architetto Alberto Pasetti allo sviluppo di prodotti innovativi<br />
di lighting <strong>design</strong>, attraverso una personale ricerca di matrice minimalista.<br />
Born in Verona in 1964, graduated as an architect, he is currently working in the architecture and interior <strong>design</strong> field,<br />
and has been growing several experiences as well in industrial <strong>design</strong>. His interest for Art and the collaboration<br />

Alberto Pasetti, Italy<br />
Laureato nel 1990 presso l’Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia (IUAV), per alcuni anni ha approfondito<br />
in California, come ricercatore del CNR, la sua formazione in ambito di allestimenti e illuminazione architettonica<br />
e decorativa. Dal 1995 la sua attività professionale è rivolta alla consulenza progettuale nel settore dell’illuminotecnica<br />
con l’omonimo Studio Pasetti con sede a Treviso. Dal 2002 è docente di Illuminotecnica presso la Facoltà di Design<br />
e Arti dello IUAV e si occupa di ricerca e sperimentazione nell’elaborazione di nuovi prodotti lighting per ambiti<br />
d’applicazione dei beni culturali e del settore ricettivo. È inoltre consulente per aziende del settore dell’illuminazione<br />
e la sua attività è rivolta all’innovazione tecnologica, alla ricerca dei <strong>material</strong>i, al risparmio energetico per il benessere<br />
fisiologico dell’utente finale.<br />

Per Kristian Pettersen, Norway<br />
Nasce a Tromsø nel 1975. Si diploma nel 1999 all’istituto grafico e artistico Wolff (oggi WSC: Westerdal School<br />
of Communication). Nel 2000 inizia la sua attività come <strong>design</strong>er freelance di allestimenti espositivi.<br />
Ottiene il diploma in Disegno Industriale nel 2003 presso la Danmarks Designskole di Copenhagen<br />
e nel 2006 consegue la laurea in Disegno industriale presso la Oslo School of Architecture and Design.<br />
Con il suo marchio P. Kristian ha partecipato alle edizioni 2007 e 2008 della rassegna Salone Satellite.<br />

del ristorante temporaneo Piu Yiu al Salone del Mobile 2004 (Sawaya & Moroni) e Urban Lightwalk al Superstudio Più<br />
nel 2006. Per tre anni assistente di Emmanuel Babled (Venini, Baccarat, Viceversa), con cui firma il tavolo Pigreco<br />
per Felicerossi (2005). Nel 2007 partecipa al Salone Satellite con il collettivo Openbrackets e inizia la collaborazione<br />
allo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti con DeVecchi. Dallo stesso anno lavora anche come freelance per lo studio<br />
Markus Benesch Creates di Monaco di Baviera in progetti per Rasch, Jannelli&Volpi e Camparisoda.<br />

Luc Ramael, Belgium<br />
Consegue nel 1975 la laurea in architettura d’interni presso il Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Bouwkunde<br />
ed Stedebouw di Anversa. Dopo gli studi specialistici in fotografia e in <strong>design</strong> di arredi ha collaborato<br />
con numerosi professionisti, fino a fondare nel 1988 un proprio studio di progettazione e <strong>design</strong> di interni.<br />
Dal 1984 tiene corsi di progettazione presso diverse scuole d’architettura del Belgio in qualità di docente incaricato<br />
o di esaminatore esterno, ed è stato uno dei membri della giuria per il prestigioso concorso della Biennale<br />
di <strong>design</strong> Interieur 2000 di Kortrijk. Il suo lavoro persegue una ricerca emozionale di forme, siano esse arredi<br />
o lampade, senza spiragli verso dimensioni caricaturali o sperimentalismi fine a se stessi. Un gusto sobrio e razionale<br />
che si manifesta nell’ideazione di oggetti dall’aspetto familiare e funzionale e quanto più essenziale.<br />

Diplomato nel 1965 all’Istituto d’Arte di Nove (VI), fin dagli esordi del marchio Prandina ha collaborato alla progettazione<br />
dei suoi prodotti diventandone partner nel 1987 come responsabile tecnico-creativo, ruolo attivamente ricoperto fino<br />
al 2004. Alla sua attività ventennale si deve una parte rilevante dei prodotti che hanno dato identità all’Azienda<br />
e nei quali è pienamente riconoscibile il rigore e l’essenzialità, ispirati al <strong>design</strong> nordico, che sono tutt’ora i capisaldi<br />
della filosofia creativa di Prandina.<br />
After the diploma from the Nove (VI) Art School in 1965, since the beginning he has collaborated in the <strong>design</strong><br />
of Prandina products, becoming a company partner in 1987 as technical-creative manager, a position he held until 2004.<br />
In 20 years of activity, Mario Mengotti was responsible for the majority of products that distinguished the Firm,<br />
and which stood out for precision and essentiality, drawing from Nordic <strong>design</strong>; characteristics that are still<br />

Dal maggio 2001 il sistema di controllo qualità prandina srl è organizzato secondo le norme Uni en iso 9001: 2000. Il sistema di controllo<br />
qualità, attestato dal certificato n.cert-08474-2001 del dnv Italia, riguarda la progettazione, l’assemblaggio e la vendita di apparecchi illuminanti<br />
da terra, soffitto, parete, tavolo e a sospensione. Prandina srl si adopera scrupolosamente per mantenere il più possibile elevato il livello<br />
qualitativo della propria produzione, impiegando estesamente l’ottone per le parti su disegno in metallo, adottando minuteria e componenti<br />
elettrici di prima qualità, inoltre ricorrendo a manodopera specializzata per l’assemblaggio e sottoponendo i propri prodotti ad attenti controlli.<br />
I diffusori in vetro sono prevalentemente realizzati secondo le tecniche artigianali della soffiatura e della pressatura in stampo, affiancando<br />
a questi metodi tradizionali le procedure più moderne, laddove queste comportino un vantaggio qualitativo. I limiti esecutivi artigianali sono<br />
riscontrabili in particolare nei diffusori in vetro soffiato. Non è possibile soffiare due esemplari dello stesso tipo perfettamente identici. Lievi<br />
differenze nello spessore del vetro, nel peso e nelle dimensioni complessive o la presenza di minuscole bolle e striature nell’impasto non sono<br />
da considerarsi difetti, ma caratteristiche imprescindibili del vetro soffiato a mano. Il nostro sistema certificato di gestione qualità prevede<br />
tuttavia un controllo su tutti i diffusori prodotti, scartando gli esemplari che non risultano corrispondenti ai criteri di tolleranza formale, dimensionale<br />
e cromatica stabiliti per ciascun prodotto.<br />
Specifiche dei prodotti e regime di conformità di riferimento<br />
Tutte le lampade prodotte e commercializzate da prandina srl recano un’etichetta nella quale sono riportate<br />
l’identificazione del modello, la tensione e la frequenza d’esercizio, la classe d’isolamento e l’indice di protezione specifici, i tipi di lampadine<br />
prescritti e la loro potenza massima consentita (in watt). Ogni apparecchio è accompagnato da un foglio istruzioni per l’assemblaggio o l’installazione<br />
che deve essere eseguita da personale qualificato nel pieno rispetto delle indicazioni riportate. Qualsiasi modifica o riparazione<br />
non autorizzata eseguita sul prodotto dopo l’acquisto e/o l’inadeguato rispetto delle istruzioni di installazione o assemblaggio, possono invalidare<br />
le conformità di sicurezza dell’apparecchio e determinare situazioni di pericolosità per l’utente. Prandina srl declina ogni responsabilitàsu<br />
propri prodotti modificati e/o per il mancato rispetto delle istruzioni. I prodotti prandina sono rispondenti ai requisiti previsti dalle direttive<br />

Dali<br />
L’interfaccia standard dali (digital addressable lighting interface) descrive un protocollo per la comunicazione digitale tra dispositivi di gestione della<br />
luce. Questo standard unificato garantisce piena compatibilità e flessibilità nella gestione dei sistemi di illuminazione, permettendo di indirizzare<br />
singolarmente fino a 64 dispositivi o corpi illuminanti e di suddividerli in 16 gruppi e 16 scenari luminosi, tramite un sistema bus di regolazione a<br />
due cavi. Il protocollo digitale dali, ove espressamente indicato (nel presente catalogo), identifica la modalità di comando e regolazione dei reattori<br />
elettronici che equipaggiano l’apparecchio e non gli specifici sistemi, componenti di sistema, software e unità di controllo richiesti dall’impianto<br />
di illuminazione. I reattori dali impiegati supportano anche i protocolli di regolazione tramite pulsante semplice switchdim, di regolazione costante<br />
di luce tramite sensore smart o digitale dsi.<br />
L’equipaggiamento con reattori dimmerabili 1-10V è valutabile su richiesta.<br />

Enec<br />
Il marchio enec (European norms electrical certification - certificazione elettrica relativa alle norme europee) identifica una marcatura di<br />
collaudo e certificazione riconosciuta a livello europeo che attesta la conformità di un prodotto a nome armonizzate di sicurezza europee<br />
(norme EN) e a metodi produttivi certificati. I certificati degli apparecchi per illuminazione prandina a marchio enec possono essere richiesti<br />

Trattamento dell’apparecchio illuminante a fine vita<br />
Dal 2005 risultano applicate le direttive ambientali comunitarie 2002/96/CE - weee (waste electrical and electronic equipment) e 2002/95/CE<br />
- rohs (restriction on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment). Queste direttive disciplinano le modalità<br />
di dismissione e smaltimento dei prodotti elettrici e elettronici e limitano la presenza di sostanze dannose al loro interno. Secondo la categoria<br />
5 delle direttive ambientali, le disposizioni della weee e della rohs riguardano anche gli apparecchi illuminanti che devono obbligatoriamente<br />
riportare il marchio del cassonetto barrato definito nella norma en 50419.<br />
Marcatura del prodotto con il cassonetto barrato<br />
Questo marchio sul prodotto o sulla confezione indica che l’apparecchio illuminante non deve essere considerato come un normale rifiuto<br />
domestico, ma deve invece essere consegnato ad un punto di raccolta appropriato per il riciclo di apparecchi elettrici e elettronici. Per informazioni<br />
più dettagliate circa il riciclaggio del prodotto potete contattare l’ufficio comunale, il servizio locale di smaltimento rifiuti o il negozio<br />
dove l’avete acquistato.<br />
Ecolight<br />
L’italia ha recepito nel proprio ordinamento giuridico la direttiva 2002/96/CE con il decreto legislativo n.151<br />
del 25.07.2005 - raee (rifiuti di apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroniche). L’entrata in vigore del D.L.G.S. n.151.<br />
È stata fissata al 13.08.2005, Con un periodo transitorio di un anno che ha reso operativo il D.L dal 13.08.2006 (data prorogata dal D.L n.300<br />
del 28.12.2006 al 30.06.2007). La normativa prevede l’obbligo da parte dei produttori di assumersi l’onere organizzativo ed economico relativo<br />
al riciclaggio e allo smaltimento degli apparecchi di illuminazione a fine vita. A tale proposito, i produttori di apparecchi di illuminazione hanno<br />
costituito per il mercato italiano il consorzio ecolight (www.ecolightitaly.it), al quale Prandina srl aderisce in qualità di azienda consorziata.<br />

Certified quality control system. Executive characteristics of the artisan methods used<br />
Since May 2001 the quality control system of prandina srl has been organized according to standards Uni en Iso 9001: 2000. The quality<br />
control system, certified with certificate no. Cert-08474-2001 of dnv Italy, concerns the <strong>design</strong>, assembly and sale of floor, ceiling, wall, table<br />
and suspended lighting appliances. Prandina srl carefully undertakes to maintain the highest possible quality of its production, making wide<br />
use of brass and stainless steel for the parts to <strong>design</strong> in metal and using top quality electrical components, in addition to utilizing specialized<br />
labour for assembly, and subjecting its products to careful controls. The diffusers in glass are mainly produced according to artisan blowing<br />
techniques and mould pressing, flanking these traditional methods with the very latest modern procedures, where a qualitative advantage is<br />
obtained. Artisan execution limits can be found in particular in the blown-glass diffusers. In fact, it is not possible to blow two examples of the<br />
same type in a perfectly identical manner. Slight differences in the thickness of the glass, the weight and overall dimensions or the presence<br />
of tiny bubbles and streaks in the mixture must not be considered defects, but unavoidable characteristics of hand-blown glass. Our certified<br />
quality management system in any case provides for a control of all the diffusers produced, rejecting those that do not meet the criteria of<br />
formal, dimensional and colour tolerances established for each product.<br />

Specifications of the products and reference conformity requirements<br />
All the lamps produced and marketed by prandina srl bear a label giving the identification of model, working voltage and frequency, specific<br />
insulation class and protection rating, the types of bulbs to be used and their maximum permissible power (in watts). Each appliance comes<br />
with an instruction sheet for installation or assembly that must be carried out by qualified personnel in full compliance with the indications<br />
given. Any unauthorized modification or repair of the product carried out after purchase and/or inadequate compliance with the installation<br />
or assembly instructions, can invalidate the safety compliance of the product and give rise to dangerous situations for the user. Prandina srl<br />
declines any responsibility for modified products and/or failure to follow the instructions. Our products meet the requirements provided for by<br />
EEC directives 73/23 EEC, 89/336 EEC, 93/68 EEC, and are marked with the ce and ENEC symbols if subjected to the certification system<br />
of the same name issued in Italy by the Italian Institute for the IMQ quality mark.<br />

The dimensions of the appliances given in the technical drawings are in millimetres and inches. The maximum permissible values are given in<br />
the captions of the lamps. Unless otherwise indicated, the appliances are normally supplied without bulbs. Many of the products are registered<br />

Dali<br />
The standard DALI interface (digital addressable lighting interface) describes a product for digital communication between light management<br />
devices. This unified standard guarantees full compatibility and flexibility in the management of lighting systems, enabling individual addressing of<br />
up to 64 lighting elements or devices and subdividing them into 16 groups and 16 luminous settings, by means of a two-cable adjustment bus<br />
system. Where expressly indicated (in this catalogue), the dali digital protocol identifies the procedure for control and adjustment of the electronic<br />
reactors of the appliance and not the specific systems, system components, software and control units required by the lighting system. The dali<br />
reactors used also support the adjustment protocols with a simple switchdim button, for constant adjustment of the light by means of smart<br />
sensor or digital dsi.<br />

Enec<br />
The ENEC mark (European norms electrical certification) identifies a test and certification marking recognised on a European level, certifying<br />
the product’s compliance with european harmonised safety standards (en standards) and certified production methods. The certificates for<br />

Treatment of the lighting appliance at the end of its useful life<br />
EC environmental directives 2002/96/EC - weee (waste electrical and electronic equipment) and 2002/95/CE - rohs (restriction on the use of<br />
certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) have been applied since 2005. These directives regulate the methods<br />
of scrapping and disposing of electrical and electronic products. According to category 5 of the environmental directives, the provisions of<br />
weee and rohs also regard lighting equipment required to bear the crossed bin mark defined in standard en 50419.<br />
Product marking with the crossed bin<br />
This mark on the product or package indicates that the lighting appliance should not be considered as normal domestic waste, but must<br />
be taken to an appropriate collection centre for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. For more detailed information regarding<br />
recycling of the product, you can contact the council office, the local waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.<br />
Ecolight<br />
Italy has assimilated the directive 2002/96/EC with legislative decree no.151 dated 25.07.2005 - weee (waste electrical and electronic equipment).<br />
The effective date of legislative decree no.151. Was fixed for 13.08.2005,<br />
with a transition period of one year, that made the legislative decree operative as of 13.08.2006 (date postponed by legislative decree no.300<br />
dated 28.12.2006 to 30.06.2007). The provisions require producers to undertake the organisational and economic responsibility regarding<br />
recycling and disposal of lighting equipment at the end of its useful life. In this respect, for the italian market the manufacturers of lighting<br />
equipment have formed the ecolight consortium (www.ecolightitaly.it), which Prandina srl belongs to as an associated firm.<br />
