Study design:
We prospectively evaluated the outcome of patients referred to a low
volume hospital for HBP surgery (RN) and Two other hospitals with
high volume HBP surgery ( BO for liver surgery and MI for
pancreatic surgery).
The study period was 1-2008 / 1- 2011.
The enrolment process was 1:2 among all cases of HBP referred for
surgery to RN and BO-MI.
The cases were random matched according to the age, sex,
preoperative diagnosis and type of surgical procedure.
The post-operative course and the long term outcome were analyzed
and compared.
