ecome one of the most important cinematographic events on the Italian scene.
This year marks the 11th edition of the Lucca Film Festival, a remarkable result in itself. Over the years,
the candor and youthfulness that characterized the Festival in its infancy have remained unchanged.
A tribute to the intelligence and energy of the creators and organizers who skillfully have been
able to blend the history of film with the present and new trends of the Seventh Art, while continuously
searching for new points of view on creativity.
The event will be further enriched and will receive an additional boost thanks to what I believe to be a
strategic synergy of great prospects: the collaboration with “Europa Cinema”. This joint effort has the
double impact of giving new impulse to the international event held in Versilia on the one hand, while
at the same time shining an even brighter light on the Lucca Film Festival by extending its geographical
and cultural reach. The result is the creation of a single event with a decidedly more international
flavor in the Province of Lucca.
Going back to the qualitative merits of the 2015 program and to David Cronenberg’s attendance, I
can only thank Lucca Film Festival for giving us the opportunity to deepen our knowledge of one of
the most brilliant and original filmmakers, authors and writers in the past forty years. Moreover, I am
grateful to the Festival for allowing us to do so, as always, following our own personal different insights
and perceptions through film screenings, naturally, but also through conferences and even soundtracks
of Cronenberg’s films.
My heartfelt wish is that the Lucca Film Festival repeat once again the success of its previous editions
and that this event continue to grow and to affirm itself as one of the most important happenings of
the cultural landscape of the Province of Lucca. A Festival that is able to capture the attention and interest
of cinephiles and more thanks to prestigious international collaboration and to all that it offers.
a Lucca.
dell’evento: David Cronenberg.
quest’anno dedicate proprio a David Cronenberg.
A tutti auguro buona visione.
The Lucca Film Festival has undoubtedly become a most anticipated and not-to-be-missed event in
Lucca’s cultural landscape. A dynamic festival that has been made possible thanks to the commitment
of a group of young people who for over 10 years have dedicated themselves to disseminating
cinematic culture. Organized by the Associazione Vi(s)ta Nova, over the years the Lucca Film Festival
has become more and more impressive, attracting audiences from far beyond the our city limits. It has
become such a significant event that many of the best-known film directors of the world have come
to Lucca to take part in the festival.
In 2010, we had the great honor and pleasure of hosting David Lynch, but I would also like to mention
other great names of cinematography like Abel Ferrara, Tsai Ming- liang, Jonas Mekas and Peter
