HPDC School, Figures for the first edition
• 401 hours of classes actually held on
three main topics:
production process 61%

• 8.730 hours of actually held courses (OFA
– Obblighi Formatvi Aggiuntivi or Further
Training Requirements) to a class of 30
students coming from Brescia, Bergamo,
Verona, Lecco, Padua and Macerata
– average attendance frequency 89%
• 64 days of lessons, 9 intermediate tests
to verify learning, 21 applicants for the final
exam (out of 23 entitled), 21 qualified
and certified
• 17 partner companies (14 foundries and
3 end users/designers)
• 29 tutors involved:
– 14 industry specialists from the training
and consulting sectors
– 2 university professors from Brescia’s
Engineering Faculty
– 13 companies specializing in the HPDC
sector (technical supporters)
These figures will in part be repeated for
the School’s second edition, that will begin
on September 27th, 2016. The duration
and organization will be the same: roughly
380 hours, at CSMT and AQM’s headquarters.
The main innovations, derived from
the analysis of the evaluation questionnaires
filled in by students, will concern:
• Harmonization of the program and lectures.
Greater coordination among tutors
• Redefinition of lecture hours: shift of resources
to other areas when necessary,
reduction of workload for students
• Change in the sequence of lectures, so
as to allow greater usability even by those
who lack previous experience
• More room for practical laboratory activities:
practical testing of the theories
that have been learned
• Changes in the forms of examination to
accommodate the students’ work requirements
