I lavori della Commissione
Comunicazione
settori trainanti dell’economia e, soprattutto, dell’export italiano.
The work of the Communication
Commission
Following the success of previous meetings
where the strengths of the Italian Industry of
Motion and Power Transmission Systems were
defined, together with the tools for effectively
communicating them and the targets to be
addressed, in the forthcoming meeting on
July 13, the results of the survey submitted to
associated companies will be discussed and
the communication plan for enhancing the
sector will be continued. The meeting is open
to marketing and communication managers of
all associated companies.
A lucky meeting between mechanics and fashion
(the thoughts of ASSIOT honorary Vice President, Andrea Scanavini)
A hospital room is by no means the ideal place for such a meeting…, but, nonetheless, it
happened. During a recent brief hospitalization, I found myself sharing a room with one of
fashion’s most prominent figures: Vito Artioli, the greatest designer and producer of Italian
luxury men’s shoes. While I am well known in the mechanical sector, I cannot pretend to
such a title in our field! However, a friendship was born between us and we were able to
swap opinions on a whole range of subjects from business to politics, with plenty of ideas in
common despite coming from two very different businesses, which we then found may not
be so different after all. Fashion and mechanics are two sectors driving the Italian economy,
above all, Italian exports. Two sectors made up of SMEs, created in the second half of the
20 th century and now striving to stay in business despite the well known difficulties of doing
business in Italy. Companies which are often, sadly, sold to multinationals, thereby, losing
their Italian entrepreneurship: innovative, flexible, courageous, proud etc.
Today the challenges are steeper than ever, partly due to inexperience and lack of vision
but above all to political inertia. Looking back on those days in hospital, we both suffered
physically but also communally for the problems affecting our country.
Thanks to the hands of the experts in charge of our respective operations, our problems
were quickly resolved, as could be those of the nation, where the main stumbling block is
finding the “expert hands” to guide us.
