NEWS LG / Amazon

NEWS LG / Amazon Cooperation – Part of New Collaborative Push HP Launches New Pavilion Wave and Elite Slice @ IFA Event At IFA 2016, LG Electronics is demonstrating its expanding smart home ecosystem with more partnerships and collaborations, highlighted by its cooperation with Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce retailer. With a strategy of Open Partnership, Open Platform, and Open Connectivity in the growing Internet of Things (IoT) field, LG is showcasing smart technology that it says actively understands consumer usage patterns and provides optimal solutions that cater to different user lifestyles. LG’s SmartThinQ Hub is now compatible with Amazon Echo’s intelligent personal assistant Alexa allowing users to control connected LG home appliances using one’s voice, without a smartphone. The SmartThinQ Sensor with Amazon Dash allows users to order household items with the press of a button. Now, a washing machine with SmartThinQ Sensor can not only notify homeowners when the laundry cycle is complete, it can also place an order for more detergent. A broad range of products make up the LG ecosystem, and the company has also introduced a host of new IoT accessories including SmartThinQ Lightbulb, SmartThinQ Plug and SmartThinQ Motion Sensor that all work seamlessly with LG’s SmartThinQ Hub and Sensors. Hall 18 Stand 101 HP chose IFA’s ShowStoppers event to debut two new desktop PCs with Windows 10 that the firm says revolutionise traditional desktop design for the home and workplace. The new PCs include Windows 10 features such as dual microphones in the HP Pavilion Wave and a dual microphone module in the HP Elite Slice that both enable “Cortana” with voice integration, so users can communicate naturally by talking with their own digital personal assistant. The HP Elite Slice is the first modular commercial desktop with cable-less connectivity and enables customers to build the desktop of their choice. It has a curved modular design in matte black with polished copper accents. It also allows customers to pick and choose a factory cover or stackable options to add functionality including the Collaboration Cover or Wireless Charging Cover, or stackable modules such as the Audio Module or ODD (Optical Disk Drive) Module for a beautiful PC that is unique to each business and its employees. With the HP Pavilion Wave, design, entertainment and productivity come together in an interesting new design. For customers who want a PC that can fit into small places, the new offering comes in a compact design with the power of a fullsized desktop, running on Windows 10. It features an iconic triangular form with an innovative parabolic reflector with an integrated speaker on top of the PC for superior, 360-degree audio experiences to a fill room with crisp audio. This unique desktop is built around a fully integrated, advanced audio system to play music, listen to movies and web chats Hall 17 Stand 115 www.ifa-international.org IFA International • Monday 5 th September 2016 5
