We asked Ludovic Falcou, Export Director EMEA, YEZZ to tell us more about the company. Robert Schiano, Managing Deputy Director of Avenir Telecom - Energizer Hard Case exclusive distributor, tells us about his company’s relationship with Energizer… The French group Avenir Telecom has been working for five years in close collaboration with the American brand Energizer and we have just signed a license agreement for the development and exclusive distribution of the “tough” mobile - Energizer Hard Case. Recognized for their expertise on a global level in the manufacture of batteries, Energizer now offers ultra-resistant phones and aspires to be world leader within two years in the rugged phone segment. Robert Schiano Managing Deputy Director, Avenir Telecom Created in Miami in 2011, the brand is already the leader in Latin America and attracts a lot of attention with its wide range of products covering the aspirations of different consumers. With feature phones, phones adapted to seniors through to the hightech 4G smartphones, YEZZ offers reliable products with 2-year warranty, which perfectly meet consumers’ needs. How have early sales been going? Following out launch in France, in less than 6 months we have taken more than 3% market share and our range is referenced in more than 80% of points of sale. Moreover, with the success we had in opening up in some 20 countries in Africa, we are confident about the growth of sales in Europe, which is already very promising, as retail buyers and consumers really like the brand. So you have big ambitions? Our ambition is to be present in 120 countries in the next 6 months with our key goal being to develop the European market. Germany, and the countries of Northern and Eastern Europe are our priority. We are already present in France, Spain, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus. What’s new at IFA? YEZZ is unveiling a new range at IFA. We have just renewed our range with slimmer phones and the most competitive on the market in terms of price. In parallel, we are launching a range of high tech smartphones with 4G priced well below others of their category. Our business strategy is to quickly deploy the brand in different countries through local expert distributors in their territory – whom we have come to meet at IFA. Hall 4.2 Stand 210 What is your strategy to meet this challenge? In Europe, this niche market is evolving fast, and there is an extremely strong demand because consumers and professional users alike want solid phones that are reliable over time and that the kind functionality one would expect from a modern phone. Retail and speciality buyers are looking to complete their offering, and the Energizer Hard Case range suits them perfectly. While Europe is our priority market, we are working on parallel distribution in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Please tell us more about the current line-up… The range launched in July 2015 consists of four phones capable of withstanding the most extreme conditions. Two feature phones are very popular in the world of construction, logistics, transport and industry. As for the two smartphones, they benefit from all the features of Android, and meet the IP 68 standard. They are shockproof, dustproof and can be immersed in water. Equipped with a 3000 mAh battery, they offer an autonomy of 500 hours in stand-by mode and 19 hours of communication. By January 2016, we will complete the range with four new models with an even slimmer design. Thus, with 8 models of toughened phones, we have the largest range in this segment. Why are you exhibiting at IFA? This show is the ideal place to meet partners with whom we are going to market the Energizer Hard Case brand. We want to meet with buyers ready to deploy our products in their countries, leveraging their expertise and their networks.
