Health andsafety for visitors, exhibitors, and even for our team, is themost important thing. Thegood news is that we haveconferred with the regionalauthorities for this year’sIFA and our conception forhealth and safety was fullyaccepted, and the authoritiessaid they had no better ideasthan we do! That’s a goodthing. When we announced thatthis year’s event would notbe a normal IFA, we said that the main concept wasto design the different events so we could separatethe participants and organise it in a safer way foreveryone to participate in the show.If you look at these four events we originally planned,we can say the Global Press Conference – thesethree days of press conferences and announcementsMorningby JensHeithecker BriefingJens HeitheckerExecutive Vice PresidentMesse Berlin Group /IFA Executive Directorby the industry is fully booked. We can only offer 800 mediarepresentatives attendance forthe event, meaning all others willhave to follow events online. Atthe Global Press Conference, wewill have a number of importantglobal announcements; wehave big companies and smallercompanies, and a good mix ofproducts. We are very proud tohave been able to bring togetherthis programme here on stage.(For detailed programme see page 4)This year, we have created whatwe call the “IFA Extended Space”.It’s not a virtual trade show. That’sour intention. It is a very newconcept, and I am very optimistic that most of thepeople will be impressed by the modern way in whichwe are able to bring all the content to people outsidethe show, so that everyone can participate – some inperson and some online.Either way, we look forward to welcoming you thisyear!IIFA INTERNATIONAL • MONDAY 31 ST AUGUST 2020 3
