Located in Hall 11.1 IFA, TecWatch presents forwardlooking technology for future markets from every market sector exhibiting at IFA. IFA TecWatch combines a specialist exhibition with a communication and business platform for demonstrating innovation. The research facilities of large industrial enterprises will show the potential of technology products from leading brands - and provide an advance look at trends of the future. At TecWatch, small and medium-sized enterprises get the chance to meet business partners to discuss future cooperation. For universities and public research facilities IFA TecWatch provides a platform for sharing technological know-how with the industry. Joint projects and internationallyrecognised standards institutions present their ideas for next-generation solutions. “IFA TecWatch is an outstanding and valuable platform that facilitates the exchange of knowledge among experts, transfers t e c h n o l o g y b e t w e e n research and industry, and acts as a launch pad for successful business partnerships. It is also a very attractive shop window for technically interested visitors and retail buyers. It enables them to prepare in good time for the new markets of the future,“ said Dr. Rainer Hecker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik mbH (gfu), commenting on this outstanding section of the fair. “People interested in finding out about the digital media and home appliances of the future will receive a lot of fascinating answers here.” IFA TecWatch will explore: • The future of 3D media - what will the individual elements of future product chains look like, from ideas and designs through to 3D viewing without glasses? • How will televisions evolve, given the available options of broadcasting and broadband? • How will next-generation home appliances help save resources, and how will they become even easier to operate? • How will apps and cloud services support mobile lifestyles? For retail, channel and trade visitors, IFA TecWatch features extra content and events. Papers and panel discussions will highlight the messages of the TecWatch exhibits, and special tours for journalists and decisionmakers from politics and industry will appreciate the main exhibits at the fair. A comprehensive programme for schoolchildren will exploit the enthusiasm with which young people approach the technology of the future. IFA TecWatch cordially invites all visitors to IFA to be inspired by the unique variety of ideas that tomorrow has to offer. TecWatch is open, Hall 11.1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the entire duration of the fair. IFA 2010 - IFA TecWatch 1. HD Videokommunikation 2.
