Product Trends TOSHIBA -

Product Trends TOSHIBA - LIBRETTO Metz - Focusing on Consumers Metz will be unveiling new products that have the consumer’s ease of use squarely in mind. Thomas Hey, Head of Corporate Communication, tell us exactly how. This year at IFA, Metz will be showing our new Caleo range, which has a slim 47-inch LED display. It has an integrated 500 GB digital recorder which affords remarkable independent television convenience, letting consumers watch television on their own time. Our trend is usability such as the time shifting that we have implemented in all our new TVs which allows the consumers to pause and watch live TV. The other feature is PVR, which lets the user record TV programs and store them on the digital recorder, which is available in Caleo and Primus. IFA has always been important for Metz and we have been there since the beginning. We are proud to be at the 50th IFA and to meet all our dealers there. We are also open to meeting with new dealers in countries we are not yet available in for some new distribution deals. Feelin’ Good! Georg Walkenbach - Managing Director - BEURER Hall 21. Stand 102 We are European market leaders in health and wellness products. This year, we are spotlighting our baby care product line – “Janosh” by Beurer, where we are introducing our new mascot -- the “Tigerduck” -- a popular children’s character. Having a baby is the most important time in anyone’s lives and parents will often need new products, such as sterilizers, baby monitors, thermometers and so on, and we are developing all these products. Health is also related to weight control, so our top of the line baby scale allows parents to monitor their baby’s weight. Our message is that health and wellbeing is an important industry and there is a real future there. And as the population is aging, the need to monitor health will grow. New Dimensions & Flexibility… Toshiba Europe has some exciting developments in the PC sector. Ulrich Jäger, Product Marketing Manager, tells us about some of their new products. We are presenting our first 3D notebook with active shutter technology. It’s the world’s first notebook that lets you view 3D content stored on Blu-ray Discs! Another very interesting product is our dual-screen LIBRETTO, which is a full-featured Windows 7 notebook. There are two touch displays… one being a virtual keyboard. With an ultra-portable weight of less than a kilo, the libretto W100 is designed to deliver a rich Internet experience, multimedia playback and the freedom to multi-task—just like a standard laptop—but with the advantage of two seven-inch diagonal touch screens to work, watch and play on. The multi-touch touch screens can work independently or together, giving users the flexibility to decide how they want to use them. Hall 21. Stand 101 Trends in Sound Gear 26 Hall 4.1. Stand 205 When Dr Fritz Sennheiser founded the “Laboratorium Wennebostel” in 1945, who would have thought that 65 years later, the company started then and still bearing the Sennheiser name would be more than 2,000 employees strong in the world? Like many German engineering ventures, Sennheiser has become renowned for its “perfectionist” approach to audio, and is a reference in the field. We asked Managing Director Sennheiser Vertriebs und Service GmbH & Co. KG, Gerard Tammen to tell us more about current trends We see people travelling more these days and we will be focussing on this trend for this year’s IFA. Our new travelling product line came from customers that wanted high quality sound on the go. We are happy to present our new MM 550 product: a wireless, Bluetooth product with NoiseGard 2.0 technology embedded earphones. Noiseguard 2.0 electronically identifies and reduces unwanted ambient noise thanks to active noise reduction. It also has our TalkThrough function, enabling you to speak and have conversations without removing the headphones. There are our first travel headphones with SRS surround sound mode. They are optimised for in-flight entertainment systems as well as MP3, iPod, iPhone, DVD, CD players and mobile phones. We have a long history with IFA starting from 1950. Today, the CE and IT business is very important for us and it’s a growing market. We launch our new products and meet with buyers there. Hall 3.2 Stand 124
