News Miele Looks to Make Consumers’ Lives Easier New launches inspired by customer’s every day needs Life in the Connected World Siemens bring digital living to IFA 2015 Under the banner "life in the connected world", Siemens opened its IFA 2015 campaign by showcasing a complete range of interconnected home appliance products. Roland Hagenbucher, CEO of SEG Home Appliances, was on hand to show off the Siemens connected home in hall 1.1. Amid the 170-odd product innovations, Siemens highlighted its first connected refrigerator with interior camera and the new sensoFresh technology for fresh laundry without water usage. “The future is now,” said Hagenbucher, adding that things are now possible in the home that not long ago were inconceivable. Siemens is inviting visitors to IFA to immerse themselves in this new world through its connected apartment. Via a tablet and a gigantic LED wall, visitors can use the tablets to navigate through their networked home, utilising appliances in new ways that offer a "more independent way of living – for a life more independent". Hagenbucher affirmed that “new technology has grown up with the internet” and is now reflecting a more independent way of living – for a life more independent. the possibilities of a connected world. In a Future Institute report commissioned for IFA, 18% of those aged between 36 and 54 think it would be "great to be able to use a camera to see inside a fridge at any time", so Siemens responded with the camera-equipped iQ500 refrigerator, the contents of which can be viewed via the Siemens Home Connect app. Siemens will promote its innovations at IFA this year with celebrity chefs, baristas, food bloggers and even top players from FC Bayern Munich, who will be on hand for the presentation and unveiling of a new master dishwasher in Berlin. From a washing machine that texts a customer to stock up on detergent, to a hob that guarantees frying food at a fixed temperature with no risk of burning, "Miele is once again looking to set the benchmark for its customers", said Dr Reinhard Zinkann, the company’s Executive Director and Co-Proprietor. He said its new products at IFA all aspire to the “Inspired for Life” motto of the company’s new development programme. “All our products serve to make the every day lives of our customers just that bit more pleasant,” stressed Zinkann. It set out to achieve this by not getting “caught up in the discount price war which can only damage your brand,” claimed Zinkann. New launches at IFA include the TempControl hob that fries food at fixed set temperatures for different food types and a Sous Vide function has been added to its steam oven range.
